Only read this thread about the cop lying about his "incident" with Masai last summer if you want to be angry: https://twitter.com/TorontoStar/status/1301165835218804736?s=20
By Pac-12 Go To PostHis lead assistant should be Dirk.
I feel like Dirk isn't interested in a post-retirement job that involves actual work.
Nash hasn't coached before, right? I think before this was just a special consultant or something. That's pretty out of nowhere.
What in the fuck? Does he have any experience coaching on any level? I may just be uneducated on that point...
brooklyn was like bring me a white ex player that was good at shooting wih no prior coaching experience to lead KD to a chip!
By knux-future Go To PostKyrie is going to make Nash's back act up again
😂

By blackace Go To Postkind of shows that about 80% of the league ain't coaching shit
Yeah. And I mean, retreads aren’t exciting either. Also these franchises got enough cash to toss 4 year contracts around on gambles.

jacque vaughn did okay enough for a gutted roster...for him to not at least get a chance in favor of a white ex-player who's literally never coached is pretty suss

he is 65-161 lifetime as a coach
because he coached the magic when they were straight up tanking, tried playing rookie oladipo at pg, and then had elfrid payton as lead guard

we gotta look at KD/Kyrie for this.
But I thought the Nets fired Atkinson to hire a championship coach to take them to the next level?
I think anything around 20 to 25 mil per for the full four years should do it, if not they aren't letting him walk for anything . Stop trying to spend Trey Burkes money though.
By Branduil Go To PostHow much does a team have to offer FVV before Toronto won't match?

By unknown Go To PostWeird to get an unexperienced coach considering nets are looking to win with kd and kyrie.I don't believe there's such a thing as the "Nets" as an organization. This is KD and Kyrie's show, and if they only cared about "winning" they wouldn't have left their teams.

He can relate to the players lol
By Omega Go To PostSometimes I wish social media was around back thenMichael Jordan on social media ... Jesus Christ I don't even want to think about it.
As if Michael "Republicans buy shoes, too" Jordan would have done anything with social media. The Last Dance was only interesting because he's 20 years removed from playing and doesn't care anymore.
the funny thing is the Nets are making JV the highest paid assistant coach in the league...
Sounds strangely similar to Kidd and Lawrence Frank

It's cool they kept him on the roster, and rewarded him with the money he did a great job, but Nash can manage the egos of their stars while Vaughn focuses on the x's and o's
Got into a dumb-ass twitter argument earlier tonight and it reminded me of this good video:
I also looked things up (https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_stats_per_game.html#stats::31) and it wasn't until the last four seasons or so that the league average ORtg is above what it used to be in the late 80s and early 90s to take the crown as the most offensively efficient era.
I really think the league will do something within the next four seasons to bring the scoring efficiency down a bit and/or increase variety of play. What that is, I don't know. I think a lot would change if they were more strict about moving screens and less strict about incidental contact and feather-light touches.
