By Kibner Go To PostThe teammate that I would try
Is happy with good guys
But I've been drinkin' so much
That I'ma call him anyway, and say
Fuck that new team that you love so bad
I know you still think about the times we had
I say fuck that team that you think you found
And since you picked up, I know they're not around, oh oh
Jimmy's room by Joel Embiid
By Pac-12 Go To PostIf not Rocky, definitely Bullwinkle.
Ben Simmons is snidely whiplash confirmed
Warriors definitely need to bait the 76ers now
They can get Embiid
Embiid kicking out to Steph or Klay instead of Al or Tobias is crazy OP

Sorta feel like their rotations aren’t Embiid friendly? In a vacuum, yeah.

Once upon a time dray seemingly could hit from range and spread the floor, but yeah I guess as a current replacement It’s a huge improvement

he will be inspired by Rocky and totally learn to love the game. yeah

smh Lonzo
e: I am so worried about how much his next contract will be if the Pels keep him. Judging by his past performance, it shouldn't be much. A player's second contract is typically based off projected performance, though. And who knows how far apart the front office and Lonzo's team are on that.
I don't get the second dude's point. "Can't be reluctant and bad." Excuse me? Fuck yes, be reluctant.
Now let's discuss how bad he also is while not driving.

reluctant and bad is worse than just bad
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd rather you not do the things you're bad at.
It helps if there's something he's good at, though.

By Pac-12 Go To PostMaybe I'm wrong, but I'd rather you not do the things you're bad at.For Lonzo, specifically, it means that he doesn't have an obvious path of improvement to becoming the point guard and play creator he was originally drafted to be. Him being both reluctant to drive and terrible the few times he does means he is unable to force the defense to make a decision.
It helps if there's something he's good at, though.
If he was bad at driving but did it at least a decent amount, defenders would have to guard against both, just in case. If he was good at driving but was reluctant, it is something opposing teams will still have to guard against. With either/or, you are forcing the defense to make a decision. And forcing the defense to make a decision is how you can pressure them into a mistake.
Lonzo was, statistically, above average at catch-and-shoot 3s this season. He is great at passing in transition and finding the open man in the half-court (though he can't get anyone open himself).
I seen someone mention that he would be a great prototypical triangle "PG" in that he would bring the ball up the floor to initialize a set or ignite a fast break, play defense, and sometimes hit open jumpers. Which seems to be a pretty decent take, imo.
He can still improve at driving, because he's not avoiding it altogether, like Simmons avoids shooting. If he improves, do it more. Go heavy on it in the summer, during camp, and in the preseason. But when real games begin, be reluctant (until it improves) (not totally avoidant) because there's little point in constantly wasting possessions like that.
Ben Simmons, on the other hand, needs to be working out in the summer with his former teammate and your boy, JJ Redick, who literally makes himself hit 342 shots every Sunday during the offseason.

The more obvious point you haven't said yet Kib: if he doesn't attempt to drive how will he improve upon that skillset?

He deserves maybe just a bit more than Tomas Satoransky's recent contract due to "potential", though Tomas played his role better than Lonzo in the year he got paid. Tomas got 3 years 30 million. Marcus Smart averages 13 mil a season. So yea, Lonzo's yearly salary window is likely 10-12.5 a season.
By reilo Go To PostThe more obvious point you haven't said yet Kib: if he doesn't attempt to drive how will he improve upon that skillset?I was thinking that when I was typing up my post, actually. If he was an older, established player that had basically already peaked, yeah, it wouldn't make much sense for him to practice that kind of thing in games. As someone still on their rookie contract, though? smh

Even if he worked on just that for 90% of his practice time even with a work ethic like Jimmy Butler.

By DY_nasty Go To PostWhen you got Culver waiting in the wings do you even need a #1 pick?Culver might be better than this draft's number 1 pick
By blackace Go To PostCulver might be better than this draft's number 1 pickI don't know about that. I'm not convinced Culver can play offense in the NBA. His handle is weak, so he should really play off ball, except that he couldn't shoot it all last year. He'd have to make big improvements.
