By Dark PhaZe Go To PostPhilly just needs a frank conversation. Sit with Ben and his agent and tell him straight up that they want him on the team but lead guard duties are done, and they see him as a secondary ball handling PF. Can they accept that?he not worth much on O without the ball tho
Everything wrong with Philly has been just awkardly trying to get around getting a definitive answer about that.
But these flecks of good news amid this initial upheaval stage of the Rosas rebuild are mostly subsumed by the attendant wreckage all his maneuvering has wrought thus far. The 24 different players who logged time for the Wolves last season produced just 19 victories and yielded the third-worst winning percentage among the NBA’s 30 teams. All that losing didn’t come cheap: Only some last-minute finagling with the fine print has enabled Wolves owner Glen Taylor to avoid paying the luxury tax penalty borne by teams who egregiously exceed the NBA salary cap.
But mistakes were made too, and the arrival of the draft highlights the most flagrant among them. In the 2019 draft shortly after he was hired, Rosas traded the 11th pick, who turned out to be Cam Johnson, and forward Dario Saric to Phoenix in exchange for the sixth pick, then chose swingman Jarrett Culver from Texas Tech. Johnson and Saric both had higher PER ratings and larger win shares than Culver, which wasn’t difficult because Culver actually had negative win shares and a negative value over replacement players (VORP) while compiling a horrible shooting line of 40.4 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from 3-point range, and, worst of all, 46.2 percent from the free-throw line.Things are looking pretty good over here.

also is “Star-plus” a thing? what’s Lebron on this if they’re star-plus
swingman Jarrett Culver
Didn't the Wolves try him at point guard at some point or was that a fever dream?

By pilonv1 Go To PostDidn't the Wolves try him at point guard at some point or was that a fever dream? No, they definitely did. Early in the season, they had him playing point guard with the second unit and it was a disaster. Overall, he'd have to make a huge improvement to be a passable NBA player.
The draft last year soured me on Rosas's talent evaluation. He was supposedly this scouting big brain and came away last year with two guys that could barely play on a 19 win team. I don't think he has what it takes to make the right pick at no. 1 this year.

Yeah, I'm cool with that. Exhaust all the worst seeded teams so Silver can get his big market money all playoffs
I’d trade Simmons for Harden
Simmons won’t ever shoot jumpers, to cocky and arrogant from being praised throughout school/college
Jimmy is right to not give a fuck about top picks

By blackace Go To PostI was told I was great, so I refuse to shoot is something that happens?I was told I was great, so I refuse to ______ is like a running theme for busts and great players alike...
Shit, melo had to be threatened with international play before he stopped refusing to defense. Drummond refuses to give up the point forward dream to this day. Wiggins refuses to care. Reke refuses to not shoot whenever he pleases. Etc
By blackace Go To PostI was told I was great, so I refuse to shoot is something that happens?
I mean taking criticism and advice from coaches.
Players can think they are gods and don’t need to change and Simmons seems like that kinda guy
Just boggles my mind why he doesn’t shoot a simple jumper
By blackace Go To PostDamn if only they were humbleThey need some Larry Brown in their lives.
