By shun Go To PostThis obviously won't happen at all and I cannot imagine a scenario that this is possible even if the Bucks lose in the 2nd round and the Sixers get swept. Giannis is not happening, and Embiid won't either.😒
I did say it isn't happening. I'm not delusional into thinking it like pilon is. There's no reason why the Sixers take this deal when they could just trade with Milwaukee directly. If any kind of deal happens it will involve multiple teams and gutting draft picks.
Like give me a scenario that Embiid wants out of Philly the minute their postseason is over. Who has the best assets to acquire Embiid? Same with Giannis? Wiggins + role players + 2 top 5 lottery picks isn't enough to net them considering what the Lakers gave up for AD or Clippers for Paul George + Kawhi.
Milwaukee doesn't want to take on money/contracts so they have to either blow it up for picks or get a near equivalent star in return. Like Embiid.
Philly likewise probably doesn't want to take on contracts either because they have their money tied between Horford, Harris, and Simmons's upcoming poison pill.
Milwaukee absolutely wants at least a star + multiple high picks. Elton Brand is Dell Demps bad so they could probably take a bad deal.
Myles Turner is probably up on the market too with Sabonis being their choice.

Again I think Simmons will be on the market, not Joel. They might move him for Wiggins, the 2nd pick and some odds and ends.
But honestly there is nothing GS has to trade that would net them Greek Freak or Joel .

Yeah I don't think that we have anything for Joel or Giannis. Unless they somehow flip multiple assets together there is nothing valuable enough to net either that another team couldn't try to match.
If Embiid publicly wants out, why wouldn't they trade him first? Embiid is the one that is increasingly frustrated not Ben. His value significantly drops once he uses his leverage and publicly requests a trade.
It is a lot easier to build a team around Simmons's strengths and succeed than it is to build a team around Embiid as well.

And I would disagree about the statement of it's easier to make a winning team around Simmons than Embiid. 🤷🏿♂️

Joel Embiid throwing Elton Brand all the way under the bus.
Embiid, who has three years and $95 million left on his contract, said several times after the loss that he "isn't the GM" but seemed to question some of the moves the team has made over the past two years.
"I just feel like, a couple years ago, when we made the playoffs for the first time, we had a bunch of great players that were drafted here or either formed in Philly and we had a bunch of guys especially that were in a great situation," Embiid said.
"And then we, as you know, we decided to trade a lot of it with the picks and stuff for Jimmy [Butler], Tobias [Harris], and we got a bunch of great players in return. Like I said, it just didn't happen. We could never find a rhythm this year. It is disappointing. There's a lot of regrets. I felt like the focus was not always there. And we got to do better; we just got to look at ourselves in the mirror and just do better."

Following their series sweep loss to the Celtics, the 76ers are expected to part ways with coach Brett Brown, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation say. It’s only a matter of when.
Keep an eye on the following potential coaching candidates, according to sources: 76ers assistant Ime Udoka, Clippers assistant Ty Lue, Villanova’s Jay Wright, and former Grizzlies and Kings coach Dave Joerger.Murderers row of candidates for the Philly job.
I really hope Idoka gets a shot, I just don't want any of those good coaches getting screwed by Simmons' bullshit
Ime should not take the job in Philly as tempting as it might be... he would be lowballed for job and have even less job security than most first time coaches... The Phil Jackson story doesn't happen very often.
I kind of see Ty Lue filling the seat.

By DY_nasty Go To PostWhat spots are open right now?I think it's just Chicago and Brooklyn.
e. New Orleans, too.
By rodeoclown Go To PostI think it's just Chicago and Brooklyn.Nola too
I just keep thinking more teams are liable to fire people. Chicago, Brooklyn (Vaughn is not the answer), Nola, Sacramento possibly next year, Washington maybe, Philly, Denver according to Koko, Houston almost certainly

I didn't even bother to post the story that the Nets want Pop. Kyrie is like the total opposite of a Pop player.
That story is somebody doing somebody a favor.

I just don’t see what’s in for Pop. That’s not a championship squad even if Kyrie and KD are healthy and it’s not like he has anything to prove.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWhat spots are open right now?Right now, Nets, Bulls, and NOLA..
6ers most likely, and maybe the Rockets later too...
Wouldn't be overly shocked if Stotts and Clifford got fired as well..
I could see Portland really looking at Kenny right now if Allen's sister is allowing them to do business as usual.

Eh, a healthy Nets team with good coaching is probably the best playoff team in the East. Their roleplaying depth isn't bad and they have pieces they could trade/swap.
Raptors GM has some decision making ahead of them. They have a great team but its full of players that you'd kind of be uncomfortable signing to something long term and just about all of those guys are expiring this summer. Best move would be two year deals for everyone with team options and overpay to make it palatable for them, but you imagine they'd like some long term security.
The Nets are like a month away from trading Levert for air because of how bad their cap situation is.

I think Atkinson is a pretty decent coach and a few months of Kyrie made him go home and be a family man.

?
Their cap looks extremely fine so long as they are willing to pay lux tax, which is a given when you're dealing with top 5 NBA talent like Durant.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Post? They're not gonna pay the tax and they have to re-sign Joe Harris. They're gonna have to unload Levert and/or Dinwiddie to make it work.

By DY_nasty Go To Postso there's no way Minnesota takes a guard now? watThat doesn't make sense. I don't think they'd take Ball since he doesn't really fit how they want to play, but I'd be shocked if they didn't take Edwards at 1. Haliburton would also make a ton of sense if they move down because of his shooting.
(just going off of Hollinger's take)
By DY_nasty Go To PostWhat team doesn't want Donovan Mitchell? Yall lucky that you don't have cats constantly mining for "scoops" about your team cause no one actually gives a shit about your team. A lot of these franchises wouldn't look so pretty in the light.
