Wardell is a disgrace
By aka Espi Go To PostHow does Doc keep getting opportunities.I mean Mike D about to get another job, and most likely Mike Brown as well....
By blackace Go To PostI mean Mike D about to get another job, and most likely Mike Brown as well….Mike Antoni has a better record in the last 4 years. He has gotten further in the playoffs and has made it to the WCF. Last 3 years he lost to the Warriors 2x and Lakers, no shame in losing to teams that make the Finals.
Doc just has first round series and the one time he made it out of the first round he lost a 3-1 lead
And he still got hired first
By aka Espi Go To PostAnd he still got hired firstDoc has a ring and those guys don't.

Philly in win now mode and mike D and simmons are oil and water. Seemed like an obvious hire IMo

D'Antoni's style doesn't really fit that roster, and if you want a proven winner, nobody out there has Doc's track record. Even if the Clippers flamed out this year, he's done a lot the last 12 years or so.
By Kibner Go To PostThis makes a lot of sense. Mike D would have thrown Brand under the bus year 1 🤣
By Kabro Go To PostMy condolences knux. Now that the Lakers have gooned their way closer to a title they are going to act like this?
doc fits much better in philly than mda
but i wanted mda to go there anyway just for the pure fukkery of having a lumbering big, and an integral guard who refuses to shoot

So where does Mike D go now?
Clippers might be tempting, but their inability to be able to improve thanks to the PG13 trade has to be a concern.
Thinking the Pels since Gentry was just a wish version of Mike D anyways

But ask any clipper fan how they feel about Mr. Choke artist
Rivers is probably a better fit than MDA, did something change regarding MDA that I am not aware of? Is he really a top tier coach?
By Kabro Go To PostThis isn't my first rodeo.naw but you were humble af when it was Luke Walton and the baby Lakers. 🤣

By pkaz01 Go To PostRivers is probably a better fit than MDA, did something change regarding MDA that I am not aware of? Is he really a top tier coach? He's the best offensive coach available, and except for his Knicks stint, has won everywhere. He just only plays seven guys and needs top tier defensive assistants.

Also that Tim thomas 3 got me all sour af for years.

Brand wasn't trying to hear all that

By rodeoclown Go To PostHe's the best offensive coach available, and except for his Knicks stint, has won everywhere. He just only plays seven guys and needs top tier defensive assistants.I agree regarding the offensive coach part, I still feel like Nash helped him tremendously when he was with the Suns and he seemed to have grown a bit with the Rockets, I guessed I won't get over him not being able to get over the hump and getting destroyed by Popovich so many times with those Suns teams. I liked Gentry when he took over (it was coming off one of the worst coaches Terry Porter) but his ability to incorporate the same type of offense as D'Antoni but actually utilize a bench made me prefer him.
Then again it's more babysitting than coaching with those multiple superstar teams, which will make the Nash experiment fascinating. I'm just glad we got Monty last year.
By blackace Go To Postwe crowning his Lakers run successful now?I won't lie, I totally didn't remember him coaching the Lakers.
Glad they got Dwight to stay, finally.
I don't think he will have much success with the Pacers either, Mike Malone is a really good coach, but D'antoni needs a roster like the Nuggets, stretch passing big, scoring PG that can pass, and shooters everywhere.

By pkaz01 Go To PostI don't think he will have much success with the Pacers eitherIt's Pels or Clippers for him I reckon... unless he talks a team to fire the coach they have like the Hawks or Kings
D'Antoni would've had at least 1 solid year with the Lakers if Kobe didn't blow his achilles out right before the playoffs... :(
By blackace Go To PostIt's Pels or Clippers for him I reckon… unless he talks a team to fire the coach they have like the Hawks or KingsPels could be interesting with him, Lonzo might put up numbers if his three point percentage stays decent. I think they might be too young of a team for him.

I don't see Mike D doing anything better than Gentry, tbh. That is such a lateral move that it would have me heavily questioning the FO and the next five years of the franchise.
I would rather new blood or Atkinson. Give me Stackhouse, dammit.

By RATHasReturned Go To Post5 years of Doc. You sure about that???they can afford to Mike Brown him if it doesn't work out
I don't know about that... I might give Kenny a look.
The Nets must be sick af... 2 HoF coaches on the market and they pulled the trigger early to hire a rookie coach that already lost the locker-room🤣

By blackace Go To PostI don't know about that… I might give Kenny a look. That's true he did pretty good with them too, MDA on the Nets would've been interesting from a skill standpoint, those two are too crazy for him though I think, Nash has to act "woke" to make that work. Although Amar'e was a bit of a weird dude too and he made that work.

Makes more sense when you include Kawhi on the left, which you should because he wasn't coming without George.
Clips still have the ability to recover and chip.
Doc is a good coach. Good hire from Philly, but there's more work to do in terms of the roster. I like Simmons, but the only way he runs the 1 for my team is if he becomes more aggressive offensively. Sans that, play the 4 or get traded.
