City are a detestable club that deserves no respect whatsoever for anything they've done in the last decade.

Pep probably threw out that Michael Jackson doc while he was putting Fabian Delph in the bin.

Hope we don't. Means less tactical ingenuity on the behalf of managers, and hampers the smaller sides.
It's the PL though who bend over backwards to suck off the Hateful Eight* so they'll do it.
*(Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Leicester and Burnley)

I know I’m in the minority here but I don’t mind if they do tbh. 3, 5, 7 whatever it’s all arbitrary anyway.
By n8 dogg Go To PostHope we don't. Means less tactical ingenuity on the behalf of managers, and hampers the smaller sides. The thing is that the clubs have to agree on it, I just never understood why decisions are made that benefit to top 6 almost exclusively

Like how people vote for Tories m8.
By rerixo Go To Postwhat if subs 4 and 5 had to be under 20Interesting, but that'd just lead to academy players getting minutes in garbage time.

This would encourage hoarding of young players even more and be pretty shit for the players and football at large imo.
it's just a shit option. just delete it. 3 subs is enough. more than enough.
lets go whole hog and allow on the fly subs for the whole roster like hockey
im fine w/ whatever they do. i kind of like 5. its fun to see more of the guys get to play.

By Hixx Go To PostThis would encourage hoarding of young players even more and be pretty shit for the players and football at large imo.yeah i was thinking it'd just get big clubs to play the youth they already have but more hoarding is a likely result

there should probably be stronger anti talent hoarding rules anyway
3 subs does seem fine though, i don't know why people would seriously want more than that (other than to boost their clubs). maybe 4/5 subs could be worthwhile over the not-winter-break period
Pep's english is fucking terrible. Mine is better. If it wasnt for the subtitles, I wouldn't understand almost half of what he's saying.

Also don't understand the claim as to how 3 subs makes it more tactical than 5. If anything, it's the opposite.

They have to be more judicious in their timing and choices rather than ‘this is not going well, let’s replace half the team’.
Just saw on Twitter that the next PL season starts mid-September and the CL ends the last week of August. If City make it through to the next round and later of the CL, can imagine a lot of players miss the first week or two of the season actually. I think they need to keep 5 subs next season since they'll shorten the season as is to make sure its done in normal time. Probably a good idea to have some limitations though.

I’d say keep it at 3 subs and clubs will just have to organically rotate more/use more youth on the bench instead if they want to keep energy up. Still leads to the same issues Hixx and Soho mentioned without necessarily forcing more stockpiling.
By n8 dogg Go To PostThey have to be more judicious in their timing and choices rather than ‘this is not going well, let’s replace half the team’.That sort of ties into the 3 player limit being entirely arbitrary and not really backed up by any reasoning that can't also be applied to having even less subs, or none at all. You may as well have them be judicious from the moment of choosing their starting XI. So it's like, why not 5 instead of 3?
I'm team no subs at all but if you must have them, the more the better.
City will walk the league with 5 attacking subs every game and the tactical fouling the rule will encourage.

Think Ole said he'd be looking at giving certain players staggered holidays throughout the season.
By Punished* Go To PostCity will walk the league with 5 attacking subs every game and the tactical fouling the rule will encourage. Not to say that this will always be the case, but in the games I've watched, I haven't noticed much of an improvement from having more subs. Just seems like more players who are a little bit disjointed. This may be less of an issue over the course of a season as it's normalized, but it hasn't seemed to improve the performance, just spreads the minutes around.
What I'm curious though is how they'd close pandora's box and go back to 3 in the future as players/teams get used to more. I wonder if they'd compromise on say 4 as the new normal after that.
By Laboured Go To PostThink Ole said he'd be looking at giving certain players staggered holidays throughout the season.Makes sense. The ol 1 week vacation in FM is crucial.
