Fun half. Glad we weathered the storm a bit, Wan-Bissaka and Pogba were constantly giving it away but they recovered. Those two and Lindelof looked most threatened by the press.
It's nice we have so many goals in us though.

great display of a well trained and drilled team vs a bunch of talented individuals. The ease of the manner when Saints are under pressure and find a free men vs the way ManU try to do that is just shocking.
Gotta give it to the boy Ole. He bet his job on the idea that Martial could actually improve within his system, and that him and Rashford would carry the team on their backs in the goals department. And he did it. Martial looks mad scary when moving like a proper forward, Rashford has carried his weight with goals and the manager's stubbornness to play a system suited for a #10 when we didn't have one finally clicked in when we did get one, so it wasn't all in vain.

I think we're doing a very good job up top of playing in small spaces, actually. Few of them aren't particularly good at it at the back, but I don't think Saints have been any better at it than us.
By Laboured Go To PostSomeone needs to start getting in the ref's ear.Hate that our team doesn't have that. All the top teams have someone trying to influence the ref on decisions.
Our buildup from the back is a bit too slow which lets Saints get onto us easily. Need to get back to playing it wide and then back in. Saints just packing the mid. Shit go long a bit more. Rashford has a lot of space out wide

I do hope the coaches figure that out. In the mean time I'd rather they just boot it up field.

Lots made of Bruno coming into the team and immediately improving it, but we also got Rashford and Martial fit at the same time, Pogba back from long-term and Greenwood establishing himself ahead of James.

Someone needs to tell Poggers to wake up and someone needs to fix these lethargic starts.
Defense remains our most fragile unit. There is no cohesion when playing out the back, and we still missing that link with midfield in the buildup department. The forward line plays a few km/h ahead of the rest of the team, difference is Bruno can make those transitions happen.

Lindelof and Maguire are too alike, they don't mesh.

By n8 dogg Go To PostLindelof and Maguire are too alike, they don't mesh.Yeah. Going into this match I wanted Fred and Bailly to start in place of Matic and Lindelof because of Soton's press.

eh our pressure isnt really pressure. its just to get the game moving
Would love a CB with pace next to Maguire and one that cant be targeted by the long ball.
Tuanzebe pls ;_;

Matic seems to be the one constantly instructing this team. Can hear the mic picking up his calls. Key to our play at the moment.

Few of them aren't particularly good at it at the back, but I don't think Saints have been any better at it than us.To me that is more down to the individual quality of a Poggers that can look up and deliver a ball anywhere on the pitch, a Bruno that sees things happening before they do and can deliver that through ball and the individual quality upfront, today of Anthony.
Saints on the other hand is a team, were everyone knows what the other does before it happens, they do not always have the quality to deliver that pass, but they know what to do, with or with out the ball. They move as a team, press as a team, that's what I meant by that, not who deserved to be in front or not, because individual quality often wins you games.
By LFMartins86 Go To Postjfc you had me scroll through all that
it's one of those the attacker did everything from a regular pass
minus one
Interesting how that wasn't a red card
I don't get it
Edit
Also, great feeling when you wake up and there's football on and you didn't know

By Fergie Go To PostInterl fell of a cliff. They will still win, but yeah. It would be better if Napoli or Roma could put more pressure on them tho.
