By Killer7 Go To PostIn the listen in video at the end of our match vs Bournemouth, Ole is seen with Ake and although the subtitles state differently, it sounds like Ole tells him "we need a left footed CB, so keep going".
I would be happy with Ake. Cheap too is Bournemouth get relegated
He's probably no worse than Lindelof and Bailly, but I don't think he's an improvement on them. Although you're only really going to get a big upgrade if we spend the big bucks.
I wish we'd never let Evans go, tbh. Criminally underrated.
Ew no thank you to Ake.
If we're getting a new CB they have to be functionally better than what's there.
Also, Maguire plays LCB primarily, so him saying we need a left footed CB doesn't make a great degree of sense (and I don't think that's what he said).

In order of priority, we should be looking at:
1. RW option - hopefully Sancho, but needs sorting out regardless; as good as Greenwood is doing we can't overplay him at his age and he should also act as striker cover.
2. CB upgrade - Lindelof, Bailly and Tuanzebe have all got promise, but ultimately Maguire, good as he is, isn't as strong as the likes of van Dijk and Laporte so if we want to match them we need another one. All three of the aforementioned are absolutely good enough to be squad options at United, but unless Bailly or Axel take a huge leap forward then we need someone else.
3. ST back-up - suppose this relies on RW being sorted, and Greenwood and Ighalo until January will be nice, but it would be good to find someone who does a similar job to Ighalo (good at hold up, can be rotated in at the close of games and play in Europa/FA, happy to be back up) but is a few years younger.
4. CM replacement for Matic - good he's signed a new deal, but time is not on his side. I think I've got a decent amount of confidence in Fred being able to do a decent job there, but he'll need more gametime as the holder with Pogba and Bruno around. If not, Garner needs some more coaching and match experience.

United have a relatively easy last couple of matches on paper. Leicester definitely the toughest run of games. That last game between Leicester and United could totally be the deciding game for that last CL ticket.
Leicester have a really tough run in; not conceivable they only beat Bournemouth from the remaining sides. I think they'll have to hope some draws out of all the games against their direct opponents is enough to squeeze them through.
Chelsea will have it tough vs Wolves in particular, but Palace and Sheff Utd could easily give them a game as well (Pool goes without saying, but Lampard will have to hope he catches them on their holidays).
We've definitely got the easiest run-in on paper but would absolutely not put it past West Ham and Moyes jammily doing us, Saints proved yesterday they're no pushovers, and Palace could be tricky too. If Leicester only need a draw last day it could be difficult.
Wolves have the talent to win all their games, but they looked tired vs Arsenal, and Burnley and Everton (at least this version of them) are never easy.
Ultimately think it's going to finish
3rd Chelsea
4th United
5th Wolves
6th Leicester
7th Arsenal
8th Sheff Utd
9th Everton
10th Tottenham
Premier League absolutely delighted their last day has 3rd-6th all playing each other though. Top notch scheduling.

Hope the club still go for Sancho, even if Greenwood is stepping up recently. Would mean we have good cover on the wings and up top with Ighalo still around for now.
Need to cover Bruno if he were to get injured.

Hopefully with Pogba around we’d have some more creativity at least.
Starting to think striker can wait a year. Sancho at RW is an absolute must regardless of how well Greenwood is doing.
honestly going in hoping we win against leicester considering our recent forms and Pepe coming in with the new father motivation, but at the end of the day, we are still Arsenal
By Cleff Go To PostSouthampton and West Ham won't be easy fixtures imo. Both are coming into some decent form.they suck we'll put 4 or 5 past them.
we'll end up 3rd, Chelsea 4th, Leicester 5th

Hubris m8. Saints beat City only yesterday, Hammers beat us already this season.
Don't we find out the City appeal result before the last day of the season too?
Could potentially lead to some added drama if the unlikely happens and it's upheld.

Surely at worst the appeal will lead to one year instead of two, right? No way do they let City go off scot free entirely.
By ATTICUS H Go To PostCould they conceivably morph it into a transfer ban instead of a CL one?
Given a transfer ban was never originally ordered I would be surprised if CAS had authority to apply an entirely different sanction unless both parties agreed to it.
Always love a Norf London derby.
Gotta say, been really happy with Ole overall this season. It's weird, because we had a sliding doors moment with Bruno's signing that meant things went in exactly the opposite direction I was fearing after that Burnley defeat. But even up until then there was progress. Ole had made three signings, all of who have been successful in part (James has had his weaker moments post-January), we've been playing more entertaining football by and large, Rashford was improving as a goal scorer, Williams and Greenwood were coming on well and Fred had found himself in really good form... but we were just so inconsistent. Could put together some really good performances and then absolutely fuck it next match, and ultimately that came down to not having a vision and squad that fit together the way the likes of Liverpool, City, even Burnley and Sheff Utd had. Andreas Pereira has started 20 league games or something for us this season; just an absolute dearth of talent past our big guns, and when Rashford, Martial and Pogba are all missing parts of the season it just fucks us entirely.
But let's look at their coaching alone, irrespective of the Bruno buy.
Players who have improved this season compared to last (or improved on what we had):
Shaw, Williams, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Martial, Rashford, Fred, James, Bruno, McTominay, Greenwood. Matic
Players who have stagnated or stayed consistent (good or bad!):
Tuanzebe (injured a lot), Bailly (injured a lot), Pogba (injured all season), Dalot (injured a lot), Romero, Jones, Pereira
Players who have got worse:
De Gea, Mata, Lingard
Some of that is natural - Rashford ageing (or the inverse with the likes of Mata) - but considering we've blooded Williams and Greenwood positively, that all five of Ole's buys have been successful, that he's improved the likes of Wan-Bissaka's attacking ability or Fred's contributions, It's a good coaching record. He's even playing the shit ones less.
If the season ended now, with us fifth, an FA Cup semi and an EL QF, I'd be disappointed but optimistic. If we get CL and get into the final (or semis of EL) of those two cups, I'd call it a really successful season overall. Think about where we were a year ago; just hoping for the end of the season because Mourinho had fucked us so much with negative tactics and such poor conditioning and mentality all our players gave up post-Paris. We're in a much better place, with a lot of likeable players, progress in terms of our style and play. Hell, even the Glazers got shit right during the worst of the lockdown.
Feeling good.
Well, I will be until Moyes beats us 2-0.

This is kinda true to be honest; I think the only game I ever went into fully expecting us to lose was Barca 2011. There were definitely some I felt more pessimistic about, but under Fergie there was always hope.
Moyeezus stripped that from us. This is what it feels like to be Hixx.

Pretty happy with how we've looked since been back.
Probably should have got a point of Arsenal but game got away from us after the GK error.
Our run in is not terrible think top half should be a minimum.
