By Bungie Go To PostChelsea are in kind of a unique situation because of their owner and possibly also because of the transfer ban. It’s going to be hard to criticise any club that doesn’t spend money this summer. This is true. But they've wasted little time in getting their targets in. They also haven't wildly overpaid either. 90m for two of Europe's best attackers is very good business. Havertz is more of a gamble, but they've strengthened their frontline enough that if he isn't an immediate success there won't be as much pressure to perform.
Amazing that some lad lost a bet on Lingard to end the season goalless. Wonderful parting gift from a great talented player.
By Cleff Go To PostAdd in Lingard. That should bump it up to 100 mil.
Holy fuck United will really spend over 100m elizabeths on this day and age on Sancho

Yeah, but I get the impression that for the majority it’s hard to know what moves you can make when there are so many unknowns in your revenue projections.

Not seen one single footage of Sancho - may have seen a gif posted here once or twice, but I wouldn't know that was Sancho.
Ban last summer and having that £ in reserve now available to capitalise in this market has gone in Chelsea's favour. Really like how they usually just go out and get their business done (most of the time). Similar to City and Liverpool in that regard.
Sounds like we are really serious about getting this Sancho transfer done. Hope it doesn't drag and we get him in ASAP.
Penny is he bringing us the PL

We both know that you've still got quite a few weak spots and little to no depth.
He's gonna give you an element that you're missing on the wings though and that will help you alot.
Really wonder who our CM targets are. Dunno if I’ve seen anyone linked. Weird we’d give Matic such a long contract. Guess it’s insurance while Garner gets some experience.
By JesalR Go To PostHe donated his winnings to BLMJesse should donate his unearned salary from this season.
A decidedly nice end to the season
Since Southampton a week ago we've seen how much of a problem squad depth really is. Bruno didn't play well in our last 4 games through sheer tiredness. When he's not on his game we struggle to create much if anything. For that reason alone I hope we're looking at bringing in another creative midfielder.
A quality centre half and maybe another defensive midfielder is required as well. Won't get all of those in this window though.

Miggy D says we’re in for wide forward, centre forward and centre mid, with CB on hold so we can give Axl more game time.
By Pennywise Go To PostLmao.Lol yeah we need more depth in general and feel defence and CDM is where we can improve the first XI. Would have loved to have signed Fabinho.

Well let's see - Grealish and VDB have been linked the most. The former would presumably be rotation for Rashford and Bruno, with Dawson's Creek as a progressive substitute for Pogba.
Zero rumblings about a defensive midfielder though, outside of Declan Rice who might be an absolute no-go with the cunts staying up. Reckon we'll evaluate the market for Matic's successor in the next couple of windows, all the while hoping Scotty/Garner could surprise us in that role.
I personally find Fred's omission in recent matches a little odd. Wonder if we're trying to recoup his ~£50m fee and put that towards someone else... (no, not towards Sancho - think that's happening no matter what).

Dunno what kind of forward we should go for. An experienced back up striker would be my preferred option. Think Martial has done enough since the restart to keep the 9 position. But a younger guy to push Martial all the way might be a good option as well.

Don't think we'd be in for another striker, unless the Ighalo deal was simply for goodwill and we're tempted by a cut-price Josh King. Martial/Greenwood/Ighalo/Rashford is enough to me.
Fred’s been disappointing coming on as a sub tbh; running around like a headless chicken when he should have been sitting to protect. Do love the lad though.
Watching Chris Kirkland being interviewed on SSN has me reminded that he and Dudek signed on the same day while Westerveld was still at the club. Was listening to an Athletic podcast the other day on Houllier and they never really explained why his transfers went so wrong after a few seasons of surefire hits.
By Bungie Go To PostDressed up like he’s starting on a finance grad schemeHopefully a few less amphetamines

Think it was Ornstein saying that if the Super Cup goes ahead third week of September with English clubs, then they'd start the season on gameweek 3. #congestion
(Two Nations League games at the start of September too)
By Frustrated_me Go To PostCongrats yurt, shanks and the Juve bros in general, 9 in a row is pretty damn insane if you think about it. Complete domination of the league.
Crazy achievement. Especially when you consider it was achieved by three different managers and only 1 player has been there the whole time.
Arse bros, I haven’t watched much live Arsenal this year, so what is the final verdict on Arteta’s performance?
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostArse bros, I haven’t watched much live Arsenal this year, so what is the final verdict on Arteta’s performance?I'd give him a 6.5 or 7 for the half season, I think if he had the full season, he'd get us higher up the table. I like what he is doing with the team, the players all seem to listen and take on his instructions.
Arteta will either lead us back to glory if backed by the board and owners or the start of Arsenal's descent into Everton
Still can't believe United made it into the top3. Bruno Fernandes deserves player of the year because he performed nothing less than a miracle and saved Ole's job and quite a few careers.
Arteta has done more than I expected, but we still look too inconsistent. We have been for more than a decade tho, he wouldn't fix that in half a season.
Really really want the FA Cup to boost our top players to want to stay here. I feel like if we don't win it, Auba is off.
If we keep this squad, get rid of Ozil and some others and sign a defender and creative CM, next season can be a positive one. Think we can fight for top 4. We HAVE to achieve top 4 next season, way too long out of the UCL already.

Issue is there’s six clubs who HAVE to achieve top 4...

By n8 dogg Go To PostIssue is there’s six clubs who HAVE to achieve top 4…None of them have been out of it as long as us and we probably are the club that need the most finantially and sportingly speaking.
Tottenham would be the only one that we are better finantially, but they have been on it for what, 3-4 seasons in a row?
