that preview pic of Berserk 364 hinting that there's gonna be some cliff-hanger shit worse than what we got with 363 :(
Dressrosa is a divisive arc iirc. I loved it for the main narrative of Law Vs Doflamingo. But there's an awful lot of stuff going on outside of that.
Also, FWIW you're now entering a three arc stretch which is some of the strongest work Oda had done.

I think Dressrosa is great. Absolutely delivered.
I am a huge fan of Odaβs world building. Absolutely insane level of detail he goes into in this arc.
Doflamingo is my favourite villain in the series.
Just canβt see it working as a life action show.
The budget would have to dwarf anything else ever made to even give it a chance of looking good.

whole thing out and translated.
Gotta be disappointing to end the series on a reveal that everybody's been expecting for 10 years

Berserk
an actual timeless bittersweet ending
he could kill the child though.
an actual timeless bittersweet ending
If i read this correctly, Griffith after having thrown everything aside to achieve his dream is now alone, and realises that his dream in a way was not worth sacreficing everything in his life to achieve it. It contrasts Guts perfectly as Guts gave up on his revenge to preserve the last relationship he had, and from there he created many more.either way, there was no way Guts was ever going to beat a guy that literally bends time and space (skull knight tried for centuries and lost himself in the process)
Griffith wanted to achieve his dream so his life had meaning, and i think this ending really says a lot, as basing his worth entirely on his achievements didn't fullfill him.
While Griffith is the center piece of the world at this point, he is alone and unhappy, while Guts being essentially a nobody in the grand scheme of things, is surrounded by people who he loves and love him back, and is essentially happy. Griffith gave up his humanity while guts preserved it.
A lot of stuff sudently makes sense, and almost seems to have led to this moment, Richert's slap for example planted the seeds that led to this moment.
You can also connect this ending to a lot of real life stuff. Miura was someone who was very passionate about his work, but always took the time off to be with the people he loves. In a way, he never made any sacrefices to pursue his dream, and when he died, the whole world, everyone his work has affected, mourned his passing and was very thankful for what's he's done, just reading the thoughts of his team and family members really shows it.
Maybe i'm reading too much into this, or maybe too little. I was very angry and sad when i realised the potential last berserk chapter would be a cliffhanger, but honestly, i don't think it's a cliffhanger at all, while probably rushed, the message is very clear and i think is a better ending than i could have ever imagined. I'm sure after re-reading some of the last chapters i'll catch more things.
In a way, you can also kind of read berserk as a critique on the japonese work culture, a lot like Evangelion in a way, but maybe this is stretching it too much, i'm just rambling.
Edit: Also just wanted to add that in a way with this ending Guts "beat" Griffith in a infinitely more meaningful way that any sword fight would.
he could kill the child though.
killing griffith stopped being Guts' goal like 20 years ago. anyone expecting that is missing the whole point of berserk.
pretty much
Loved the last two panels. Griffith emotional, brilliant. First meeting in forever....no lectures, no gloating, no evil plans, just a tear.

The author/drawer of Tower of God is going through a lot. He took a break from June 20 to June 21 because if poor health linked to his work schedule. He's only been back three months and things are getting bad again.
He needs another break for his own sake.

honestly, im okay with this. don't know about yal, but when i was reading it felt like any minute one of them was gonna get maimed/raped/superdeded

Was always suspecting a heinous end to the group. Man was never going to drop the Guts vs Griffith stuff.
By Patriotism Go To Postwondered if he was going to trigger the slug count's behelit during one of those fights tbh.that would play right into Femto's hands
Apostles are subservient to the God Hand, they're granted apostlehood by them. Osman Bey couldn't even maintain his posture in the presence of Griffith until he transcended the whole chain.
thematically it wouldn't work either, unless it's Griffith using it again lol. In which case, he can only sacrifice Falconia/his dream or go straight into the vortex along with all the people he killed.
Been enjoying JJK, but when the flashback happened it took it ton another level. Gojo the gawd.
Although now it is the Shibuya incident and I feel like he is gonna die.

Shibuya is great. Takes the series to another notch. Gojo flashback into Shibuya is a fantastic 1-2 punch.
I recommend watching the first season of the anime, better than the manga imo. Especially with pacing and fleshing the characters out.
You should read volume 0 before you finish the Shibuya arc as well, if you haven't already.
Edit: reading volume 0 before you start shibuya probably works better.

Oh man, thanks for the rec. i read it at after Chapter 88, and then everything happens in 89-90. Was lucky.
First two chapters were identical to early chapter of KJJ, but the last two were great. So glad I was able to read it before the reveal in the main manga.
Yea reading 0 after the flashback before shibuya definitely works better.

Berserk's publisher "We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our Berserk readers for your continued support. The Berserk Chapter 364 published in this volume is the last work of the late Kentaro Miura. We were able to carry on the manuscript he left behind and publish at this time thanks to the dedicated support of the Studio Gaga members, who worked on Berserk together with Kentaro Miura over the years."<3
"Also, we are delighted to announce the latest release of the comic book this December," Hakusensha continues. "We thank all readers for waiting for such a long time, especially, in the circumstance where information was unclear and ambiguous. This volume also serves as a special memorial to Kentaro Miura as his last manuscript. We decided to use his ink sketch for the cover specially this time, hoping to convey to all readers all his passion, which is so strong and fully perceivable even from the ink sketches."
"We hope that you will feel the devotion that he put into his work. In creating this volume, we have grown deeply aware of how big and powerful Berserk was to us, just like the Guts' Mighty Iron Sword." But in terms of the manga's future, the publisher has no concrete information just yet, "We are deeply sorry to inform that there is no information to share about the future of the Berserk series at this time. One thing we can promise you is that as Young Animal, the publisher that has worked with Kentaro Miura on Berserk, our first priority will always be placed on him-what he would think if he were still with us."
"Last but not least, we have a message for all fans from Japan and overseas. We have read all the letters that have been sent in with great appreciation. We would like to express our gratitude to you once again for your continuous love and support."
