Was actually looking at this on my system the other day and contemplating starting over. I really liked what I played back when it launched. Granted I played it on PC and at 60fps, but I didn't run into too many issues from what i can recall. The core loop of the game is addicting.

The core loop of the game is addicting. The Xbox version was kinda rough and a lot of the issues around the edges annoyed me. Like, how aggro the npc survivors are was unbearable. From what I've read, a lot of those problems have been addressed in patches since.
New lighting model, redone art, new maps, making all the dlc free. They're really doing right by people with this update.

It was still a fun platformer and the creation aspects of the game were top notch. LBP3 story mode kinda sucked but the user levels wew. Logged in like three years after launch and man there's some great user content now.

Be your own masters, fellas. I might be next to ascend depending on how much these next gen consoles cost. However, lately I'm yearning for more freedom in every aspect of my existence. Long story short...I'm a college student with a budget!!
By diehard Go To PostIf it takes you 8 hours, even if its your first time.. you might just be dumb.It was my first time and I am not dumb, it's just not as easy as us PC Master race lads make it sound
i think i built my first pc from scratch when i was 8 or 9 and i'm terrible at building things. certainly didn't take 8 hours.
yall don't know about having to use the might of thor on a screwdriver to hook a heatsink latch and using floppy disks to install RAID drivers

The "longest" part is the cable management. Everything else literally goes one way and it's all labeled.

hardest thing back in the day was putting the master/slave settings correctly... how fucked up was that naming btw.
I hated the hard plastic connectors on ATA cables for your CD or hard drive that always latched onto the motherboard too tight and would flex the fuck out of it as you were trying to pull the cable off.

By Kibner Go To PostYeah, the terminology has started to change lately. Primary/secondary seems to be the way to go now.It was also used a lot on databases and has mostly been replaced by "Primary" and "Replica".
yeah in the modern world every cable is fool proof, snaps in perfectly, there's manuals for every part, and you only need to install very few drivers
can be done in an hour

I don't completely disagree with FF. If you've never even opened a computer case, putting a PC together for the first time can be ... not hard, but rather somewhat stressful due to the fear of breaking things, especially when it comes to things like installing a CPU cooler.
Having said that, I don't think there's more detailed tutorials and installation videos on YT about anything. There's literally dozens of videos about not just any specific component, but the exact brand / model of the component you're trying to install. And if you have real-time access to a guru like HottestVapes or any of the PC top lads in here in addition to that, then there's no reason whatsoever not to build one for yourself.
Prebuild systems have come a long way and I wouldn't look down on someone going that route for convenience. Provided they choose well, as you can still find a ton of dogshit pre's out there in the wild. The satisfaction (and possibly savings, at the very least in the long term) that comes from choosing the "perfect" components for your budget based on performance, quality, value and looks can't be beat tho.
Basically, if you can do Ikea, you can build a PC. The hardest part is usually getting over the fear and / or lazyness of actually doing it.

Building a PC is easier than building a Lego set. There’s no excuse for anyone over the age of 3 to not build their own PC. There’s literally no way to further simplify it unless in 20 years you’re able to lay everything on the table and it assembles itself.

A 4 year old can apply thermal paste, click everything in, connect all the cables, connect motherboard to the tower, install the PSU and connect right cables to right parts, screw in and install the cooler, connect all the correct screws in correct screw holes, read manuals, go through bios to install Windows 64 from the USB etc ?
Yeah I REALLY doubt that
First PC is moderately stressful. Every subsequent build or rebuild gets easier so the people here that have built their own will have a skewed view on how it easy it is.
My first build took a few hours, my third build literally took less than an hour and I threw it together before going to work one day. In a tiny af case too.
