By Hixx Go To PostPersona 5 is one of the best rpgs of all time. Are you sure you didn't get the game titles switched up in this post?
FF7R is a mess. Yes, it can be very cool but it can also be unbelievably tedious and at points just outright bad. It's easily the most inconsistent game I've ever played. It feels like half a finished game… but they left all the unfinished parts in too.
e: like, i still haven't played FF7R and probably won't till it comes out on PC (i also hated the original FF7) but Persona 5 wore out its welcome after like the second or third dungeons. They were all just repeats where you had to figure out what the ideal alpha-strike party composition was and then just spam it. And I never wound up beating the game because of the boss rush at the end. I don't have time to play for an hour, lose then try the whole dang thing again. No.
By Kibner Go To PostAre you sure you didn't get the game titles switched up in this post? He's not one of those guys pushing Tales of Graces F, so he's right.

So basically like every JRPG where you use the enemy weakpoints. If you got bored by the usual magic, they've added enemies that don't have a weakness per se. You'll get a chance for a critical hit if you use sleep or similar stuff, but that's no guarantee.
Also there are save rooms all over the place and I got no idea if that was pushed into Royal, but you could retry a fight or play from the last save room, at least on normal.
I get criticism for the end game and that part is still in. However they newly added content is just amazing. Fits the narrative and the theme of the game incredible well.
persona 5 was my first trip back into a jrpg and i was very disappointed. maybe royal is better, but like kib said, it wore out it's welcome quick to me.

Isn't this like most RPGs? Find the build/composition that wins and go with it?
FF7 Remake is no different. Nearly every enemy has an elemental weakness. If they don't (and it's very rare that they do not) they are usually wanting you to parry stance or whatever it is called. RPG combat is usually about exploiting the weakness over and over again. Persona 5 isn't really any different in that regard! It's just an easy game that's honestly more about very light resource management (SP) than any real difficulty in the combat.
I like the confidant system, I like the story (well, most of it), I like the characters, the music, some of the art. I like building my stats. I don't mind if a game is easy. Not everything has to scratch the "get good" itch. Persona 5, what a game.
atlus being stuck in 2003 not even fighting games do the whole "buy a whole new game for the new content" anymore
Other RPGs have more interesting setups and contingencies and less "do it exactly this way or wipe after potentially any fight" .
Tales of Berseria was a much better JRPG. Just doesn't have as cool an aesthetic or soundtrack. Better in every other way that counts, though.

By Hixx Go To PostIsn't this like most RPGs? Find the build/composition that wins and go with it?nah, P5 is worse than Pokemon when it comes down to the gameplay. after the allure wears off, its one of the most tedious and dry gameplay experiences among popular jrpgs.

and its even more difficult to understand and accept because the mechanics for a better product are already present. the bones of that game are GOOD. its really disappointing tbh. the resource management honestly just reinforces everything bad too because it forces optimal solutions at all times. you're taught early on that if you're not getting every drop out of your resources you will be punished severely. for it. doesn't just mean you lose the battle, you're losing potential progress in all sorts of areas.
in ff7r you're encouraged to fuck around constantly. one of the best things going for that game tbh (until you'd like to actually progress the story lolz)
The Battle Pass is out, seems like there's a shitload of stuff in it this year. Six arcanas, 2 adventure modes, the cavern, guilds, wagering, MvPs, challenges, and a few more bits and pieces.
Can't buy it cos the servers are getting obliterated lol
Somebody pay me to gift it them pls

Classic xpike.
This is up there with when he misspelled his own name in Fifa.
By DY_nasty Go To Postat least he hasn't put himself on ignoreAre you talking about Kidjr?
that would be crazy
By inky Go To PostNo, kidjr waterboarded himself because he couldn't believe that was actually torture
Hahahah what? It being kidjr actually makes me feel like this isn't just a piss take.

guess you have nothing else to say since you've been doing this joke for years and years
Also idk what the 2 quotes have to do, Persona 5 Royal is essentially the same game with some added content and QoL improvements that couldve easily been DLC for the original game, Xenoblade is a full on remake of the original that, and this may surprise you, couldn't be patched onto the 2012 Wii game
If you have nothing nice to say, and all that jazz.
Is it though? Updated character models and remastered music is the only info I can find (as well as the epilogue).
Seems fairly similar to P5 Royal. Which I won't deny is an uncool way of delivering new content.

lol lots of insane footy takes again
P5 was good but it really is bloated AF and stretched to oblivion (WAY more than FF pls) and I can't in good conscious recommend it to anyone nor will I ever even consider replaying it for real.
I can see myself doing a hard FF7 run at least.

I mean, they remade the entire thing from top to bottom because the original game wasn't in HD, alongside a new soundtrack, the new epilogue, a lot of UI and QoL updates, rerecorded the entire voice work, they essentially changed and updated everything except the story and gameplay.
I've kinda lost motivation to carry on with FFVII on hard even though I'm up to chapter 17
Been crawling through the last 8 or so chapters. Not sure whether to get the big item now to make these final chapters easier, or just leave it til after I've finished. Don't think I can upgrade much more between now and then, my level 4 HP Ups are nowhere near level 5

It's the same thing with Persona 5 Royal. It's just different focus points on the updated parts. Story, Gameplay, Content (dungeon, normal enemies and personas, mementos), Characters, Resolution, some UI tweaks and gameplay tweaks in general. New soundtrack as well.
Not gonna excuse the P5R price, but it's the same stuff for Xenoblade. For an even older game, where the price is usually lower.
By i can get you a toe Go To Postbloated AF and JRPGS typically go hand in hand tbhand the worst thing about Royal is not even the ridiculous price tag, it's that the actual new content (sorry I don't care about social links and QoL shit lmaoooo) is tucked in after the main game, so you gotta like go through it all over again. Life is way too short sorry

I agree now

Haven't watched any footage of TLOU2 since E3 2018 and I'm not going to.
But I fear ND might have turned it into another shitty semi-open world game akin to Dad of War or those horribly useless Lost Legacy hub sections.
