I like the designs that got the bumpers not right fucking butt up against the triggers, for either the Xbox or the PS4.

By Yurt Kojima Go To Postplease fix the battery. I'm tired of charging shit in my room I feel like I'm in charging limboI hope this lightbar thing helps
I genuinely avoid buying things with chargers now.
It should, for PC I can turn off the dualshock 4 lightbar and the battery seems to last much longer
Stupid invention
Can't wait to play rocket league with this DualSense

By FootbalIFan Go To PostHahhaFor real though, I am very happy that both Nintendo and now Sony are finally implementing the same or similar haptic feedback stuff that the Steam Controller has used for many years now. It really does make a big difference.
By i can get you a toe Go To PostFeedback though.
for peasants
By jjasper Go To PostWhile we are talking about controllers the dual shock 3 is a piece of shit. No, Six Axis was waaaaaay worse - fisher price piece of shit
By FootbalIFan Go To PostWhat's the better alternative?I’m a firm believer that a large round touchpad with haptic feedback should replace the right stick.
Left stick and dpad should stay. Buttons are good to stay, though paddles should also be a standard.
Touchpad with haptic feedback feels so much better than a stick for aiming. It’s the closest to mouse-like aiming you can get with a controller. It’s both more precise and faster.

By Kibner Go To Postkibner would u prefer an ipad controller
Dual Sense > DualShock 2 > DualShock 4 > ps1 controller > Move stick > Eye Toy > ps2 network card > Six Axis/Dual shock 3
By Daz Go To PostNo, Six Axis was waaaaaay worse - fisher price piece of shitWell yeah that thing I feel like I could have broken in half with regular use

By Smokey Go To Postimagine using a controller in 2020 thoughaside from shooters, I can't imagine playing other genres with a mouse and keyboard
imagine driving something with a mouse. the immersion. i can't
or a game like sekiro yikes

I play on PC and use controller for most games other than a shooting one
Not sure what else he expects people to use
Smokey explain yourself
There’s no “best controller”. If you like the stick layout on the X then you do you, it’s valid.
But it’s beautiful and it’s going to turn a lot of heads at first sight, and that’s just a fact.

By Yurt Kojima Go To Postkibner would u prefer an ipad controllerNah, not so much. I've played with the Steam Controller a lot and it isn't perfect but it would be better than an ipad controller by far. It does not replace triggers or buttons or d-pads. It doesn't function too well as a character movement stick replacement because holding against the edge of the pad just does not work well for most games.
Vapes has it pretty spot on, too:

By /sy Go To Postwhat is haptic feedback and should i care?Imagine "rumble" that can localize the vibrations such that you can feel it in different, specific places on the controller (some Nintendo game does this to help point you in the direction of a secret treasure or something). It is also capable of changing the feeling of the texture and structure of the controller (which the Steam Controller makes use of in order to make it feel like you are manipulating a joystick).

By FootbalIFan Go To PostIt makes a lot of senseIt doesn't make sense for FPS.
When you play something like FIFA or any games really
Your left thumb is on the left stick, to move, right?
And your right thumb is on the x square triangle circle
So your thumbs would be even, with this lay out, your left thumb is stretched to the low left stick, as the d pad is rarely used, your right thumb is not stretched and in a higher position than your left thumb since you use the right stick less than the right buttons
I hope I have made sense and you don't ban me for my opinion
To clarify though, I do like and prefer the PlayStation layout but you can surely understand why someone would prefer the other way
By /sy Go To Post:OAnother thing the Steam Controller did in certain configurations was make it feel like the pad was a track ball. You could use momentum of your thumb swipe and could "feel" the ball rolling in whatever direction you sent it while also communicating a sense of how "fast" it was moving. It would also "slow" down over time and you could feel that, too.
If the BMW i division designed gaming peripherals, the DualSense is how I would imagine the controller to look.
It does look like an BMW I 8.
I’m surprised honestly, was expecting another safe as fuck design but I’m glad Playstation ain’t playing that game.

The Grounded footage looks a lot better than when they announced it at XO. It's good that they're doing a single player campaign.
