By Diego! Go To PostI don't mind paying a bit to get a film at the same time it comes out in cinemas but when they released Mulan on "premium access" it seemed to only take a couple of months before it was free for all Disney+ subscribers.Their Premium Access movies are available for everyone after 3 months.
I somehow ducked spoilers for TF&WS, so I was super surprised to see Isaiah Bradley, show up. Makes sense, considering how race is an integral part of the show.
This new Cap is a dickhead.

Stark had these fellas taking Ubers and riding coach. This guy Zemo had them on a private jet.
The end...dawg. Bucky better talk like he's never talked before. Ayo is not playing with their asses. He gotta know, Wakanda is not fucking around.
Lowkey, after they brought everyone back, Cap seems kinda foul.He didn't check for Sharon, not once? Didn't reach out to Fury? Nothing? Fam....

Zemo is too woke for these American fools

Seems like new Cap is starting to fray around the edges a bit. Getting desperate to catch the super soldiers and can see him crossing a no return threshold.
This episode of The Falcon and Winter Soldier is what I need more of.
Lmfao @ Walker. "They're not even super soldiers :(." Man got his ass beat by black women and immediately took the serum. 😂😂
Goes to show how much of an influence Sam had on Steve, tbh (during the blip). I'm glad that they returned to this aspect of his character. Even though he isn't perfect, you definitely get the strongest sense as to why Steve chose him, here.
That last shot. Gawddamn was that brutal. The veil is gone. America's real icon showed up: police brutality.

By Elchele Go To PostThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier is really dull. Zeno is the only good thing about itZe german perspectif. We don't have Polizei brutality.
I still feel that these MCU Disney+ shows have huge issues with pacing. This as well as Wandavision feel like stretched movies. You could trim both of those down to fit a max 2hour movie. Instead they feel like bloated Snyder cuts, where nothing that was filmed ended on the cutting floor but instead was padded to adhere to classic three act structures per episode.
It's not bad - but I feel it's still moving too slow.
Nah, Wandavision was really good and didn't feel like a stretched movie. But The Falcon and the Winter Soldier do. In the worst way possible. Not to mention both lead actors are absolutely awful and charmless. Imagine an evil german being 100x more likeable than your heroes.
On top of that the plot is super boring. Falcon's personal arc is basically "oh look this superhero is BLACK like, really BLACK". From the screenwriting to the photography, this series is basically a conjunction of the worst aspects of the MCU films. But streched out

not really but it's way too on the nose and adds absolutely nothing to the story – not the fact that he's black, but the dull "story arc" (lol) of his.
Isaiah part was really interesting and could have been a really captivating way to talk about racism in America (and the world) through a compelling story arc.

I really liked Sam's scenes with Karli and Zemo this week. The counselling background of his character was pretty much abandoned after Winter Soldier, so seeing him trying to reach common ground with the former and gently but firmly call out the latter was great.
I wouldn't be surprised of the culmination of the series is him helping Bucky make the serious strides to rehabilitation which have thus far eluded him post Endgame. That would probably be the biggest indicator that Sam would be worthy of carrying on Cap's legacy.

By DY_nasty Go To Postedit: lol BLACK superhero bothering people apparentlyA bit harsh. But I get what Elch is trying to say. We had several takes of "being Black in America" that are more substantial than a MCU take. Especially considering "Being a black superhero" ain't a real thing and you just telling the same "being Black in America" story.
But here's the thing: it ain't just that. It's a take about acceptance and recognition of being a superhero - a black superhero representing America, and how paradox this is.
Personally I think the "meta-layer" is much smarter than most give it credit - but it's also only implied in small, fast to gloss over, details and would need a bit more boldness in the way it's told.
lol just watched the last episode.
This is some soap opera level of screenwriting.
why did she call Falcon's sister.
how did Walker and Lemar got past Bucky in the funeral
Karli can trash Bucky but she can't take on Zemo?
"I got access to a satellite or two" lol ffs. and then she can track people individually?
and then when Sam goes to meet Karli and Sharon calls about Walker moving. Where were they moving and why did she try to stop Bucky. I just... this is some C-class level of series. Why is Kari Skogland directing this again? all her movies are poop level of shit.

She did it, to get Sam to listen and question whether or not he was loyal to Walker. After the debacle, it was done explicitly to force him to split up from Walker, so they could kill fake Cap. Why would Sam go talk to her, after John made it so that she wouldn't trust Sam, ever again?
Bucky is on probation. He might not like Walker, but he's not stupid. He would go directly to jail, and at that point, lose the PR war and become America's number one villain. He could beat all of their asses, but that isn't the point. It might be a cliche, and not liking it is fine, but that is easily explained away.
They aren't bulletproof, nor do they have the training that Sam, Bucky, and Zemo (he's special forces) have. That was a big theme of the episode. "Kids" playing terrorists and getting in over there heads, when shit gets real. Zemo got the drop on her and she got clapped. She wasn't doing a damn thing. Keeping the syrum and making more soldiers was her priority.
Sharon is either works directly with the Power Broker, or she is the Power Broker. Hell, she was CIA, so she might still be working with the US Government, but that's looking unlikely.
Walker and Lemar walked into a trap. I dunno if they needed a scene explaining explicitly that they got tipped off, but that's what it was. The plan worked, until it didn't. Karli didn't know that they were working with Sharon, nor did anyone know that Walker took the serum. That set of actions was the whole point of trying to intimidate Sam's sister.

I thought Walker was going to the same building as them, but then they moved to another. It was a mess that scene.

Yeah most of my complains is how cheesy and cliché this series is. Like a direct to DVD B-movie.

I mean you can put a explanation for everything, my comment is about how ridiculous it all is. And not in a fun way. The problem with this series (unlike WandaVision) is that it takes itself seriously yet everything they do is dumb, cheesy and cliché as fuck.

Flag Smashers' storyline is really weak and hamfisted. Not to mention the weak writing.
Loved the ending shot of the last episode though.
Loved the ending shot of the last episode though.
If they got more into the meat of displacement and power structures, it'd be one of the more compelling stories Marvel have told, but they've left it at "I'm fighting the machines" and "They put us on the street", whilst going in to depth on how Karli is getting deranged, so it's implictly taking a pro power narrative.
The latest episode was decent, but everything before has felt like a bit of a dud

Finding it pretty boring. Zemo and New Cap are the only characters that are being given anything to chew on.
Is something going on with the Baltic States in the MCU? "Riga; city on the Baltic Sea" was such an odd screenwritery thing to say. Surely these people know Latvia exists.
