Patriots are so full of shit if true
WEEI's Christian Fauria reports the Patriots have "kicked the tires" on free agent WR Antonio Brown.
The plot thickens. Fauria isn't a typical Rotoworld source, though obviously his connection to the Patriots (his former team) lends a certain credence to the report. After quickly flaming out in Oakland, Brown's New England tenure was even shorter, lasting a single game before sexual misconduct allegations forced the Patriots' hand. Reports out of Foxboro suggested Tom Brady, who has been critical of the team's offense all year, was upset the Patriots were so quick to turn the page on AB. He'd obviously fill a glaring need for the Pats, who are shorthanded at receiver following injuries to Phillip Dorsett (concussion) and Mohamed Sanu (ankle). Given Brown's uncertain standing with the league and the negative PR it would generate, we're skeptical the Patriots would extend the olive branch to the troubled, albeit extremely talented, wideout.

By domino Go To PostYeah may as well bring him back. They already gonna have to pay him anyway
nah, he's honestly crazy
him fucking up in a bad way and forcing the team into releasing him again would be a really bad look
The owner is a billionaire who goes to street level massage parlors... Don't think anything will hurt the Pats look if that didn't
By blackace Go To PostThe owner is a billionaire who goes to street level massage parlors… Don't think anything will hurt the Pats look if that didn'tAB then ripped said owner on Twitter (3rd owner he has went after now), yeah you usually don't come back after that. At least not in the same season. Myles Garrett comes back before this dude.
That rebuttal was quick.

The worst part about the titans winning is that we’re going to keep tannehill another year instead of drafting a qb this year
We win games because of watson. BOB is simply a figurehead. Imagine if Watson had a decent coach :wow

By domino Go To PostRiverboat Ron gone. Guess the Panthers wanted a head start.I'm not even a little mad. He's not as good as John Fox
Panthers fired coach Ron Rivera.Basically owner/front office wanted him out due to ignoring analytics. I mean Cam hasn't been healthy and Kyle Allen is a train wreck, effing play Will Grier.
In the midst of his ninth season with the Panthers, Rivera had been the seventh-longest tenured head coach in the NFL. A parting of ways was beginning to look like a strong possibility in the offseason, but it is rather odd timing with four games remaining. The Panthers clearly want to get a jump on the league in the research-and-interview department. With the Panthers purchased by hedge fund billionaire David Tepper in May 2018, "Riverboat Ron" and his old school ways were in conflict with the owner's philosophy. It was probably time for a shakeup regardless of who was at the helm. The Panthers have reached the playoffs just one time since their 2015-16 Super Bowl appearance, winning zero postseason games. Rivera is sent packing with three NFC South titles. If he doesn't get another head-coaching gig, Rivera will be in high demand as a defensive coordinator.
By The Frankman Go To PostBasically owner/front office wanted him out due to ignoring analytics. I mean Cam hasn't been healthy and Kyle Allen is a train wreck, effing play Will Grier.Don't think it was an analytics thing at all. Dude was stuck in his ways and there was no point in giving him two more years of excuses. Kyle was better than he should've been too.
Panthers promoted secondary coach Perry Fewell to interim head coach.Fewell is very rigid and doesn't coach to payers' styles. Can't see him sticking around.
This is Fewell's second go-round as an interim head coach after he had the duties with the 2009 Bills. Although at one time a head-coaching candidate, Fewell's reputation was dented by a poor end to his time as Giants defensive coordinator. Regardless of what the team claims, he will not be a candidate for the full-time gig in Carolina.
Panthers promoted QBs coach Scott Turner to offensive coordinator. If he has Norv's approach offense won't change much.
OC Norv Turner, who is Scott's father, will "transition to special assistant to the head coach." Basically, the Panthers are giving 37-year-old Scott a tryout for the final four games of the year after firing head coach Ron Rivera. Both father and son figure to now be looking for work after the season, though stranger things have happened. The new coach could be asked to retain the Turners. Norv has not been the problem in Carolina.
The Panthers are expected to retain Marty Hurney as GM after firing coach Ron Rivera on Tuesday.
"We are going to take a comprehensive and thorough review of our football operation to make sure we are structured for long-term sustained success," owner David Tepper said in a statement. "Our vision is to find the right mix of old-school discipline and toughness with modern and innovative processes." In the midst of one of the more surprising second acts in recent NFL history, Hurney is about as old school as it gets but has done a decent job in his second go-round as Panthers GM. Tepper has made it clear he will be heavily involved in the team's coaching search and is seemingly likely to rely more on his own opinion than Hurney's. It is still quite possible Hurney is sent packing at season's end.
EDIT: I gotta say, so much goodness from yesterday though
I'm dead... who lives in San Francisco?? Come get your man
