By Hitch Go To PostOnce you put expert in quote marks, you're done.Gotta throw in a bit of "fake news" in there to make it extra spicy.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWhat is "mixed biology"? She has hyperandrogenism which is higher levels of testosterone, which occur naturally in her body. It's like that tweet said it's like punishing Michael Phelps for being athletically gifted vs. the competition. Doesn't have anything to do with trans athletes and even then, taking hormones and going through SRS would negate any perceived advantages. She has a DSD, a difference of sexual development. She does not have a women's level of testosterone she has a man's level. Again none of this is to do with just being a man or a women it's to do with physical biology & women's sport has a level of acceptable testosterone which she does not have.
By FermentedFungi Go To PostGotta throw in a bit of "fake news" in there to make it extra spicy. But that's the funny thing it's not fake news it's one experts opinion of which there are many different experts saying different things. If it was a case that all scientists in the world agreed on this subject then we would not be having this debate. Posting the opinion of one expert as if that's the defining & only fact there is which definitively proves everybody else wrong when that is not the case is why i put the word 'expert' in quote marks.

Why is it only her that gets punished? The CAS even says themselves the ruling is discriminatory yet here you are going to bat for it. Anyway, I'm done derailing the thread over this.
I think that's some pretty fucked up shit to say about someone using their gender as the joke. Whether you like the guy or not, even a retarded person wouldn't stoop so low..

YIKES!
No idea what that formation is
Diamond?
Keita false 9?
5-3-2 with Milner at wingback? This one is unlikely as you'd assume TAA would start in that case

The CAS even says themselves the ruling is discriminatory yet here you are going to bat for it. Anyway, I'm done derailing the thread over this.Women's sport was created because women can't phyically compete with men primarily due to men having higher testosterone which leads to a whole host of physical benifits. The intent of creating women's sport was to make things fair within their biology. The labelling of just men's & women's sports was lazy but sufficient when they were originally created but times have changed.
To use an analogy it's like weight classes in boxing, comparing men to heavy weight boxers they are the strongest & there is no limit to the weight they can be. The intent of creating women's sport is like the intent of creating the flyweight, featherweight or welterweight classes. A specific set of rules so a specific type of person can compete at that class & it doesn't just come down to pure strength & mass. Suddenly allowing heavy weight boxers to compete at any weight class without dropping the required weight would be an absolute shit show & the only out come would be all those other weight classes would cease to exist. This is the reality of what would happen to women's sport.

By ping-pong-batong Go To PostThat's defensive to say the least. Presume Firmino isn't fully fit though
That's what I read yes, not fully fit and therefore benched. But possibly fit enough to be subbed in if needed.
Yeah there's no way Firmino doesn't play if he's fully fit
We never mess around with the front 3 when they're available. Tweak Salah and Firmino's role in it, but they all play.

He's been injured most of the season and Lenglet has been great. He could be sold this summer if De Ligt arrives though.

doicare is right about one thing - this is all about the Transgender issue. The IAAF, knowing that the category trans atheletes compete in is going to be a hugely thorny issue, have decided to try and sidestep the whole thing by just redefining their categorization. Now when a trans woman asks why she can't compete the the 'woman' category, the IAAF can just reply:
"Ah, you thought the categorization was based on gender? Actually its a Testosterone level classification and has nothing to do with your assigned gender or otherwise."
And so in doing so they can avoid having to say that athletes have to compete based on their assigned gender at birth or allow trans women to compete as women and risk accusations of ruining chances for cis women.
But you can't run competitions based on an understanding of gender based categories and then just suddenly change your mind and introduce testosterone categories when it suits you. If they want to introduce testosterone categorization, they need to actually do so, and introduce boxing weight like classes, not stick to gender based categories with one entirely abitrary testosterone level rule. They haven't done that because they know everyone would call them fucking stupid and no one would watch athletics anymore. I don't actually think that the IAAF was deliberately targeting Semenya, but the end result of their cowardly meddling has been to disqualify an innocent athelete who had been competing entirely fairly based on the rules that had been universally accepted up until basically this year.

By BigBoss Go To PostSeeing Vidal and Coutinho in the starting 11 is a surprise…Probably betting on experience but honestly have the feeling they'll both be eaten alive
Opinion:
It’s a very difficult issue to which there is no right answer or solution. Someone will always end up losing, and it’s regrettable in the current climate that it’s a minority group.
And that is why you should have voted for me instead of DJ Martin and the bloke who nicked my avatar
