Of course the most exciting game of the year ends with the Yankees defeating the Twins. I'm not even that mad though what a game.

We felt sorry for you and didn't want you to drop below 500. Not very grateful, neighbor.
“Trout is slashing .296/.443/.662 while on pace for 52 home runs, 127 RBIs and 126 walks. His contact rate (84.4%), chase rate (17.8%) and strikeout rate (17.5%) are on pace to be the best of his career. Barring the unforeseen, he will finish within the top two in MVP voting for the seventh time, already only two shy of Barry Bonds for the major league record. At this rate, he will capture his third MVP trophy before his age-28 season, a feat accomplished only by Stan Musial.”

By Perfect Blue Go To PostPlease don’t trade Stroman to the Yankees. Cashman doesn’t lose a tradeThey'll get him for Clint Frazier and some dudes in A ball you've never heard of.

Just double A dudes he's never heard of, kthx. I want to keep Frazier because god knows .225 hitting Brett Gardner will eventually retire one day soon.
Finally yanked after giving up 11 in 3 and a third. 1 still on (2nd base), so his line isn't complete.
Edit: And with another double, that runner on 2nd came around to score so Tanaka is now officially good for 12 runs on 10 outs. Good effort out there, champ. Not your fault, though. Boone should have had you out in the first.

Life is shit. It's just sometimes you can forget.
19-3 was the final. Apparently, they put Austin Romine, the backup catcher, in there to pitch the 8th for the Yankees. I kind of hate that I missed that.
He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits (2 HR).

Another non-pitcher pitched last night. And got the save!

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Even after a postgame beer shower from his ecstatic Baltimore Orioles teammates, Stevie Wilkerson was shocked to learn he had just become the first position player in major league history to earn a save.
The Orioles center fielder certainly couldn't believe he did it by throwing a perfect 16th inning way past midnight with a bunch of tepid lobs that never topped 56 mph.
"I don't think I've wrapped my head around it yet," Wilkerson said. "It was a wild game. It was crazy. I'm just glad I was a part of it."
Wilkerson's performance as the Orioles' 10th pitcher was only the final flourish on a 6-hour, 19-minute epic that might have been struggling Baltimore's best win of the season.

How the single deadline impacts Yankees' pitching search: This is the first year of the new cemented July 31 trade deadline, and some executives believe that the Yankees will be one of the first teams to be significantly impacted by the change. The Yankees' rotation has developed cracks lately, with a 15.59 ERA in the last six games, and in past years, GM Brian Cashman could've had the option of waiting through the month of August to address the situation -- especially with a big lead in the AL East. But with the deadline only five days away, the Yankees' thinking must be accelerated and definitive; Cashman must decide whether he needs upgrades and whether to pay the prices being asked for Robbie Ray, Marcus Stroman, Trevor Bauer or one of the other available starting pitchers. -- Buster Olney
"cracks," he says.
I'm gonna need the Yankees to get.... 4 starting pitchers before the trade deadline. Holy shit, these fucks are bad.
Hey, Toronto, you're getting a fourth year single A whodafuck catcher and you're gonna fucking like it.
Lol if Stroman goes to the Yankees I hope we clean up in that trade. Ask for nothing less than Garcia and at least two more prospects. Fuck you Cashman.
Goodbye, legend
Goodbye, legend
Mets acquired RHP Marcus Stroman and cash considerations from the Blue Jays for LHP Anthony Kay and RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson.Mets basically are trading away for more guaranteed years of control. I wouldn't be suprised if they dealt Noah and Vargas but you *gotta* get prospects for him, not frucking Manuel Margot. Did the Mets forget their OF is crowded as fuck? Cespedes comes back next year, Nimmo still exists and they can't find room for Dom. Hell, Rosario is supposed to go to the outfield in 2020.
Rather than deal away from their starting pitching depth, the first deadline move that general manager Brody Van Wagenen opted to make was acquiring one of the top available starters from the Blue Jays for a pair of pitching prospects. Stroman, who is a close friend of Steven Matz and was born and raised in the New York area, seems to be thrilled about playing for his hometown team, despite the fact that they aren't in a pennant race this season. He's under team control through the 2020 season, though he'll likely earn a significant raise through arbitration this winter.
Anthony Kay was ranked as the fourth best prospect in the Mets' system by MLB Pipeline. He has pitched very well in the minor leagues this season, compiling a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 96/34 K/BB ratio over 97 2/3 innings between Double-A Binghampton and Triple-A Syracuse. He could see a few spot starts with the Blue Jays in September.
Simeon Woods-Richardson had long been coveted by the Jays' organization, as they had intentions of grabbing him in the 2018 draft before the Mets landed him in the second round. The 18-year-old hurler was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the sixth best prospect in the Mets' organization. He has made 20 starts at Class-A Columbia this season, registering a 4.25 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 97/17 K/BB ratio.
