You'll likely need to buy a key/license, fam.
On the plus side, if you buy a key from the Windows store, it gets tied to your MS account so you don't have to worry about looking up a cd key for it ever.

I think there's a limit to it. I originally had an official Win7 license that I upgraded to Win10 for free when they were running the promotion. When I switched from the i5 2320 to the Ryzen 1600 I could carry the license forward without issue. When I changed from an Asrock mATX board to an Asus ITX board, I had to blag Microsoft support for a new key.
After that I switched to the 9600K and a another new motherboard, so I had to buy a new key because I couldn't carry the license forward or get another freebie off Microsoft.

If you had your original Win7 key, you could have still installed it on the new mobo, if I remember my support calls with MS correctly. In that particular case, you would have had to reinstall your original Win 7 OS on the new motherboard, and then upgrade it to Win 10.

If you buy Win 10 straight from the Windows store (instead of using that free upgrade from Win 7), you can move it to new motherboards (though you may need to deactivate the previous one first, which you should be able to do through any web browser on any device, iirc).

EVGA 1070 FTW. Purchased in 2016.

I’M YOUR GUY.
As for the 1070, was it one of those EVGA cards that shipped with dodgy thermal pads?
Speaking of watercooling, I thought mid towers were supposed to be ez mode? Why's my shoebox with a 2080Ti and 9900K running cooler than this greenhouse? Zabo explain
Not all midi towers are made equal, innit. But I'd rather blame AMD.
Not really a fan of that reservoir / pump angular positioning, kind of brings down the whole build for me. It's certainly different tho.

Intel recently made a huge splash with the release of its Comet Lake processors for laptops and tablets, but that doesn’t mean it’s done. Hong Kong-based website, XFastest, recently shared three leaked slides from an anonymous source showing an Intel Core platform boasting a new Intel 400 series chipset and an LGA 1200 socket. To top that off, these slides also include a roadmap indicating that the 10-core Comet Lake CPUs for desktop computers are slated to roll out in the first quarter of 2020.
The updated LGA 1200 socket and Intel 400 series chipset means that you’ll need to buy a new motherboard with these specs if you want to upgrade once the Comet Lake-S processors come out. However, jumping on board with the Comet Lake-S also includes integrated support for 802.11ax, the next generation of wireless support also known as Wi-Fi6.

Make a TLK version and I'll consider it despite them low profile keys.
Unfortunately the selling ratio is like 90% vs. 10% in favour of full-sized keyboards, so fat chance.

Nvidia added a new "Ultra" option to the "Low Latency Mode" setting in their Control Panel with the latest drivers. It behaves very similarly, if not the same, as AMD's Anti-Lag feature. It is useful for people who game between 60-90 fps and are GPU bound (i.e. me) and want to get an half-to-full-frame better input lag.
I'll have to try it out later tonight.
DLSS inferior to the new Freestyle sharpen filter (that is probably an implementation of the recent AMD one):

Me too. A lot games run in that range for me at 4K, so should be nice. Gonna see how it feels with Siege in 4K vs playing at 200fps with TAA upscaling.

Tbh, the image quality with the TAA at 60% is fine for me. It’s a little soft, but it’s not the kinda game where I’m admiring the fine details.
Beyond the softness, there’s no artefacting or anything else to distract from the presentation
Been playing at 4k120 as of late on low settings. Well capping at 117 for gsync goodness.
The nice thing about 4k is you can run stuff on low and still have it not look like complete shit due to the pixel density.
Looks and FEELS good man

By s y ngmi Go To PostIs OBS the most light weight screen capture software on PC?
Any overhead it or other similar capture software has is inconsequential compared to what it takes to do encoding. You are looking at like 1% CPU usage as overhead on any CPU in the last 5+ years.

I'm trying to get away from mATX. Not too small because I don't want to spend an hour routing the cables etc. I plan to use an aio and a hybrid card.
Corsair Crystal 280
Phanteks Evolv Shift
NZXT H200i
InWin A1 (bit small)

The Shift X would be a nightmare to build in. That new Lian Li TU150 could be a good option for you though, bigger than the A1 but should support a hybrid card (assuming 120 AIO) along with a fucking huge heatsink for the CPU.
True, it's a bitch. They don't sell that Lian Li case here yet but it's a good suggestion. Probably what I'm looking for.
By Spengo Go To PostTrue, it's a bitch. They don't sell that Lian Li case here yet but it's a good suggestion. Probably what I'm looking for.I wouldn’t recommend the H200 btw. Takes up about the same amount of desk space a regular mid tower, and the GPU gets choked by the shroud. Not so much an issue with a hybrid card, but if switched to air cooling down the road you’d be a tad fucked.
There’s some other cases I can think of that could be up your alley but it’ll depend on what you’re willing to pay. The Sliger SM5XX range of cases for instance could be a really good fit for you. Readily available but importing them from America isn’t cheap.
Noted.
I don't mind paying a premium. It's too bad that they are limited in number (e.g. Ghost S1). They are hard to find in stock in Germany or The Netherlands. It depends on what I can get my hands on.

They also manufacture the Cerberus and Cerberus X mATX/ATX SFF case’s. Really top quality stuff. I’d dare say they’re the most innovative cases on the market currently.
Speaking of the TU150. also that video reminded me of another vertical case with a small foot print that could suit you. The Silverstone LD03.
I'll give it some thought. Until Doom Eternal, because I'll be damned if I don't have a PC when that game launches.

By Kibner Go To PostVapes, what is the smallest case(s) that can fit a DH15 heatsink in them?I believe it's a slightly modified Silverstone SG13.
Edit: Fair bit bigger, but it fits in the InWin A1 too, sort of.
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/GCvnTW
The Raijintek Metis also fits the D15 without any modification, though I'll be honest I wouldn't cram it into any of them apart from the Metis. Instead I'd go for a case that fits a Noctua C14/C14S with better airflow or a case that supports a 240mm AIO and slap Noctua/BeQuiet fans on it. There's some other case options that'll fit the D15, like that TU150 and some similar sized cases that I'll have to look the names up for that would be a good fit for the D15.
There's also a fair few renders/WIPs floating around for a properly compact D15 compatible case with good airflow, but nothing has even hit the prototype stage yet.
I will have to check that out and other options once I get closer to replacing my 2700x with something else. I'll probably turn it into a streaming rig and want something as small as possible to fit it in.
Ordered my GMMK Compact on the 20th and it's already in the UK, should be delivered on the 3rd. That seems pretty good considering it was dispatched from Compton.
