By Pedja Go To PostMobo arrived today. I have all the pieces now just need to put it together. If it's a digital license, all you need to do is log into Windows with the account the digital license is assigned to. You may have to remove your old machine in your Microsoft Account settings, but you can do that with a browser on your phone. I do not remember the link, but it should be something about managing licenses or managing devices.
What's the best way to go about moving my windows install over? It's a digital license.
By Lunatic Go To PostJust in time for my bonus to come in.
I mean with 4XXX cards coming in May-ish is it worth it?
Although I suppose so given re-sale values lol
It figures they would launch the 3090 Ti now. I just got a regular 3090.
Oh well... faster memory and more cuda cores will mean more heat.

Just feel like the 4XXX series is probably going to be such a nice power/perf jump I can't see the attraction even if money is no object.

Don’t bring logic into this
:lol you're right.
Even funnier because I'm almost disgusted at myself as to how much my new PC cost. But the benchmarks will be cummy (if it has working fans).

Given the he current market, if it’s the performance level you want, in stock and priced fairly (at your own discretion to decide what fair is now). You should probably go for it
By Lunatic Go To PostFuck ok I'll wait then yah cunts. I just want to be above smokey to poke fun
You’re out of your element here.
This is my home.
This is what I do.
Fall back.
By Laboured Go To PostCan you actually SLI in modern games at all anymore? In very, very, very few.
GPUs may have to be like CPUs and go multi-chiplet soon in order to get more power at reasonable costs so we will see if that makes something like SLI more popular (it won't).

Do you mean like having performance and efficient cores?

Probably more like like multiple GPU dies on a single board, or CUDA cores spread across multiple chiplets instead of on a single die.
I don’t think a big/little design would be favourable to GPU performance tbh.

Or maybe it was Vapes
I do not wish to become that man again. But I can. I will. If I must.

You should probably go for itIf you want to upgrade, you should most definitely start looking for whatever high-end card will placate your inner demons right now. Waiting for the 4000 series makes no sense whatsoever, the stock / pricing situation won't get any better.
In fact, it'll very likely be even worse at launch and in the following 4-6 months, because you'll have to compete for scraps with everyone that's currently trying to get a 3000 series card (and won't get one) plus the people that have thrown the towel and will be back for the 4000 series.
It's gonna be an absolute shitshow.
If you want a powerful card soon, honestly your best bet is probably becoming evga elite status and then jumping in the 3090 Ti queue day one... the high price plus the fact that rtx 4000 will be later next year will probably put some people off from buying
By Smokey Go To Posti thought they stopped the queue?Nope, I just got my 3090 through the queue
By Celcius Go To PostNope, I just got my 3090 through the queue
im not seeing how you join the queue tho
everything just says out of stock with no link to sign up for it
edit:
Due to high demand, the notify queue sign-up is temporarily disabled.
If you have a current queue position, EVGA will continue to process as stock is available.
Might still be worth it for future releases. I guess the fastest way to get the Elite membership is to buy a cheapo Evga product that qualifies, like the 30€ X17 mouse. Ain't nobody got time to watch livestreams and post on forums to get 5000 points.

Relax m8s, it's for my brother, I asked, he said go for it. He might keep it, he might scalp it, I might take it off his hands and give him my 3070ti.
Or I might not get it at all. I'd be very surprised if they'd be okay with a guy from Surobenia buying a card and having it delivered to Spain, seeing how they're now IP blocking people from countries that aren't on the list.
They'll reply soon enough, at the very least I'll know LDLC drops ain't it.

Got the new CPU, mobo and RAM installed and everything's working. I haven't done anything stressful yet but it's been running all day and I've had no problems, of course that could change when I try to push it a bit.
Still though, 3x the number of cores, 5x the number of threads, double the RAM and the AIO has kept things in the low 30s all day. Many cummies.
Still getting used to Windows 11.

Also, the method of backing up and restoring games from the Epic launcher is a total pain in the arse. God bless gaben because the Steam method is perfect.
I must have some Newegg juice. They started putting DDR5 into bundles, I entered one today and won. This bundle includes 32GB of Trident Z5 RGB @ 6000 and the MSI MPG Z690 Carbon motherboard. Newegg won’t allow you to return pieces of a bundle it’s all or nothing. I think the Trident DDR5 is currently the fastest kit.
If I go for this I’ll definitely be selling the 16GB Crucial DDR5 and one of these motherboards. Right now I’m considering keeping the Gigabyte.
Anybody used MSI and Gigabyte boards before?

Yeah. Gigabyte usually has worse firmware and features and absolute trash software. MSI has better firmware and slightly more usable trash software.
Gigabyte stepped up their game a bit when it came to software. It's still not good, but it isnt as bad as it used to be. Been forever since I used MSI though.
By Celcius Go To PostAre you sure you don't want to sell both and buy an Asus ROG board?
I’m not sure lol
these bots aint even that expensive fr
300 dollars + 30 a month could make that back with a single scalp
