By reilo Go To PostRare Cask is great stuff. I had it at a Macallan tasting event.
Sweet, what else did you try?
Saw a Macallan Edition 4 that I will try next time I am at that bar.
Yo, I'm not much of a drinker, so file this away under who gives a fuck, but Smirnoff Vodka tastes better and hits harder than Maker's Mark bourbon whiskey. Just for the record.
And by tastes better, I clearly mean tastes like fuck all.

Drinking some cough syrup :( Have been sick for a week huhuu. But still can work well, and indulge myself with foods and movies, mantigames', music, and shopping.

Recently discovered a bar that is a 15 minute walk from my apartment, and oh my what a hidden gem.
Without doubt one of the best selections and best priced bars in Seoul. A Macallan Rare Cask is half the price of what I paid in the more exclusive area of the city.
Macallan Classic Cut: This was the main reason I heading there. This was the whisky of the month and only $10. It is the cheapest single malt I have paid in Korea. An an absolue deal. Really enjoyed this. Nice smooth dram.
Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength Batch 10: Oh boy, I jumped off my seat when I sat down at the bar and saw this. Laphroaig is my favourite and most drank distillery. I have the regular 10 at home, but never thought I would find the cask strength in a bar here. WOW it packed a bunch, All the peaty goodness you expect from Laphroaig plus the extra alocohol volume. My first cask strength Laphroaig, I hope not to be the last (the 25 cask strength has been high on my wishlist for a while now)
The Whisky Agency Tennessee Bourbon 15: I am not an American whiskey fan, but this bar had a section of independent bottlings and I asked the bartender what he recommended and he said this was their best. Was my least favourite whisky of the night, but still the best American whiskey I have ever had. I just don't really appreciate them compared to scotch.
George Dickel Tabasco Barrel Finish: My friends and I were given this on the house. Was an interesting shot, but as you would expect from Tabasco, not much flavour.
Suntory World Whisky AO: One of my friends mentioned Suntory and the bartender brought this bottle down. I was really excited when I saw this. Suntory Beam announced this earlier in the year and it has been available from April. Suntory Beam own distilleries all around the world, including Laphroaig, Jim Beam, and Yamazaki, and this is the result of all the different distilleries added in one bottled. I believe this is a Japanese exclusive and when my friend heard it was only $20 he bought a dram. He let me have a sip(I had already order the Macallan 1851 Inspiration) and it was really smooth, light blended whisky, I am gonna go back and have a dram for myself next time.
Macallan 1851 Inspiration: I was really interested in this bottle all night, especially as it was sat next to the Macallan Reflexion. I asked the bartender what it was and he told me the story behind it. Apparently Macallan was trying to recreate the original whisky, so purchased a few bottles that were still around and made the replica series, only for it to then turn out that the bottles they bought were mostly fakes. They then decided to create this as inspired by rather than just a replica. Was rather pricey at $50(a quick look online and bottles go for around $1100, so very reasonable price IMO) and the guy was willing to give me a half pour, but I paid the full price and glad I did. Was a vanilla and fruit bomb. Just glad I got to have a whiksy as it might have tasted nearly 170 years ago.
Only disappointment of the night is that they had a Laphroaig 21, which from where I was sitting looked empty and only as a bar decoration that actually had some whisky in. Bottle is only 350ml and was only available as a ballot to Friends of Laphroaig back in 2015. $60 a dram and need to ask the owner for permission, but I might head there this weekend and try and get a dram.

naw but they are bad m8. Tried plenty of times. Yuk.

Same, but I think the sugar and bitters naturally bring out some flavors in the whiskey that are harder to pick up on if you don’t drink much. Even Makers has a higher proof than vodka

Try a juicy Hazy. Less bitter on the front and back end.

OJ and Uncle Smirnoff don't give a goddamn fuck, yo
What up, psy

I would definitely agree they’re over saturated and have taken too much shine away from stouts or the more malty beers, but a good IPA is amazing.
By Destiny's Abortion Go To PostIIPAs have over saturated the market and for the most part are super overrated.

I ended up drinking 7 glasses of champagne, 3 glasses of shiraz, two Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve, a pale ale, and a vodka martini.
Got to love flying

Preferably no shooting with guns, very bad at shooting with guns games

They are overrated. Drunking sone loca craft beers atm. Legs are numb.
Drank a Waterloo beer in the park café here, was so good I went to the specialty store and got me a 4 pack of every variation.
The Triple Hop ones are fantastic.
The Triple Hop ones are fantastic.
Bought these couple of big, bad boys at Hong Kong Duty free a couple weeks back. Currently having a dram of the Four Oak right now. Not as good as the PX Cask, but a nice peaty dram to have with the rain falling outside my window. Vegeta disaproves of my drink of choice, but strangely Luffy seems to be eyeing them up..
Also, I recently had my oldest dram to date. A Bruiclhaddich 26. That alone is the oldest dram I have had, but it was also a pre 2000 bottling. So that whisky was originally in the barrel back in 1974 at the latest. An Islay, just like my Laphroaigs, but not peaty. Rather it was sweet and fruity.
Got to try this little beauty, Laphroaig 21.
It was released to celebrate 21 years of Friends of Laphroaig. Only available to FoL, so not a bottle you will see in too many bars. Not an overwhelming peat on the nose, but the peat lingers well after you have finished a dram. Was well worth the price, and another fine dram from my favourite distillery.
By blackace Go To PostYeah, Sapporo black isn't goodYeah, it sucks. After I finish this can I'm gonna cleanse my pallet with one of the regulars premiums.
Korea does a four for ten deal. Sapporo is not included in that anymore so when I want more than two beers I go with Heineken. Picked four cans from the fridge and when I got home realised that two of them were Carlsbergs(because of the green cans).
First time drinking Carlsbergs
What a shit beer Carlsbergs are. Korea has some piss poor beers, but they all taste better than that shit.

I've always enjoyed the disparity between Carlsberg's slogan and their reputation. Never heard anyone talk about it favourably. Great logo for a football shirt tho

Their ads were always so good. Currently in Koread they have Mads Mid with a Korean voiceover.
