By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostBeen making a lot of Negronis at home the last few months, but now switched just to campari and tonic.
I want to try barrel aging a Negroni

I'm no expert on that, but Campari is only meant to last for a couple of months, so something to keep in mind.

I stocked up for Christmas since I’ve got a lot of family coming round. I’m only on the Stella and Guinness though.
WKD bringing back powerful first year of uni energy
By Lupercal Go To PostJesalR feastin right now.How is it? I’m not super adventurous with rum
Bought some Pampero Anniversarijo, good stuff.
By JesalR Go To PostWKD bringing back powerful first year of uni energySmooth as silk, not to expensive and a little sweetness to it. To good to use mixer with it.

By s y Go To PostStella Artois is good?Stella is great if you have the original brewing and not the bastardised UK version.
By s y Go To PostStella Artois is good?Only for wife beaters
Just bought a Guinness draught something. Last time I drank a Guinness I must've been like 10 and I didn't like it(obviously)
By s y Go To PostStella Artois is good?It is my preferred drink of choice and I’m yet to beat a wife.
It’s quite sweet. The Stella unfiltered is less sweet and a little bit stronger. I prefer the latter, but I like both.
Big fan of Guinness too.
By DY_nasty Go To PostHibiki Harmony is A1Just finished a bottle. Need to re-up.
Almost done with my Balvenie 12 Year Doublewood. Also need to re-up.
My partner also got me a couple of 15ml Dalmore samples, because she works on their PR campaigns.
I don’t think either of us knew quite how much they cost. The 5 bottle set cost $300,000 at retail, means each sample is worth more than every other whiskey I’ve ever had combined by a distance.
Got the 1967 and 79 and I have no idea when’s appropriate to open them

By JesalR Go To PostWas given an Abelour and Craigellachie for my Birthday and Christmas. They’re very good
Abelour is sensational. Did you get their age statement of A’bundh.

You are fucking killing it. When I read the opening paragraph I thought it would have just been some 12.25,15 cigar malt, alexander.
Would love to try their old stuff.
By DY_nasty Go To PostHibiki Harmony is A1
Got gifted a bottle of the Master’s Select Japanese Harmony. A lovely bottle.
I arrived in London last night.
Got my samples of Glenfarclas that I got a few years back. 40, 30, 25, and 16 and 20 family casks.
Also got my miniature bottle of 1979 distilled Laphroaig. I think it takes the win for the oldest bottling(1998) that I have tried and it is touch and go as far as oldest distilled.
Going to buy some more samples in the next few days.
Looking forward to popping open my bottle of Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne with present opening.
Always loved the look of this bottle, but the price is 1.5x times higher in Korea

To be fair, my partners work means she brings home lots of intereasting bottles. They work for Maestro Dobel too, so we’re sacked with tequila too
By DY_nasty Go To PostHibiki Harmony is A1Actually like Hibiki better than Yamazaki
I had a Yamazaki 12 in Rome and I agree. Especially price comparison wise.
I also feel the same way about a lot of Macallans -- feel they're just a tad bit overpriced.

I think all Macallans and Balvenies are overpriced.
They just use fancy barrels and claim their best barley is the best.

Yamazaki 18 is a completely different beast.
Would say the best Japanese whisky I have ever tasted.
Just made me sad when I saw Japanese businessmen drinking it as a highball in Ginza.
A great whisky. Might be my 3rd favorite bottle I have owned after Hibiki, and Ichiro's malt.
It is quite a bit more affordable than the other two to boot, which might boost it into number 2 area.
Speaking of Ichiro's Malt.. Session is very similar, meaning that it is fruity up front with a touch of bite on the back. Great on the rocks or in a short high-ball. Definitionally a winner.
By MF Coom Go To PostI visited their bar a while back, some great beers to be had there.
By Lupercal Go To PostI visited their bar a while back, some great beers to be had there.Cool beans. Haven't been to one of those since I went to Edinburgh a while ago.
I've only tried that one but it tasted good. Also, it reminded me of Bittburger.
By s y Go To PostTried another one but this time I poured it into a glass and at a 45° angle like the back of the can said to....
This tastes….I wasn't expecting this texture
Apparently the rattling thing inside the can creates the foam head so it looks pretty like tv/movie beer. Tastes a little bit better(texture was less creamy) but I think 'stouts' are not for me.
Talking of Guinness, I got to try the Lagavulin 11 Nick Offerman Guinness Cask.
What an incredible dram. All the Laga smokiness mixed with hints of stout.
Is without a doubt the best beer cask whisky I have had.
I would recommend it to anyone who can find it. Pretty hard bottle to find.
Had it next to his Charred Oak, which seemed boring in comparison and definitely didn’t have the Laga smokiness I love.
Just 2 of the 22 new drams I had during my vacation.

got jack daniels bonded after whiskey advocate gave it the #1 in their top 20. I get that a lot of the these places are bought but idk its ok I guess but nothing particularly special.
I fucked up and bought a bottle of Suntory Toki not knowing it’s intended to be more for cocktails than drinking straight with ice.
Besides a whisky soda, what other whisky cocktails are worth trying? Preferably ones that don’t require more alcohol since all I have in is generic gin, Glenlivet and this bottle of Toki.

Mountain Dew is shit
Thought it'd be different to the Energy stuff we get in the UK, if anything it's worse
