What's coming up soon?
WWE
17th December
Clash of Champions
Announced Matches
AJ Styles (c) vs. Jinder Mahal
The face that runs the place goes against the Modern Day Maharaja in what will likely be a shenanigan filled match.
Charlotte (c) vs. Natalya
Smackdown women’s championship match with the old lumberjack stipulation. Aka expect more shenanigans.
Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship Match
But why are they in the match tho?
Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens & Sami “Evil Ska” Zayn
Also featuring Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as TWO REFEREES DAMNIT. Shenanigans.
Baron Corbin (c) vs Dolph Ziggler vs Bobby ROOOO(de)
I can’t tell if anyone cares about this match - but it’s happening. It’ll be fine. Maybe.
Breezango vs. Bludgeon Brothers
I don’t know. I just don’t.
Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley - Kickoff Show
Read: kickoff show match, it’ll be the best match of the show /sarcasm.

Love the title, also hyped for Shield vs Usos even if the other currently confirmed matches don't do much for me.
Tanahashi/Ibushi could be a match of the year contender if Tana's arm has healed. He was wrestling with a torn bicep during the G1 and still putting in brilliant performances. Ibushi is, I think, the best wrestler on the planet. This'll be an amazing match.

Agreed! As long as Tanahashi is healed up well enough I believe they'll put on a clinic.
Just in general NJPW has been having a fantastic year for wrestling - mostly because of this glorious man..
I'm shocked they're actually going through with Jinder vs Brock. Between Brock doing his Suplex City bit where he only does Germans and an F5 and Jinder being garbage, that match is going to be such trash.

My only hope at this point is they swerve us and AJ takes the title off Jinder beforehand. But with the India tour in the beginning of December.. I doubt that's happening.
Natalya and Alexa being women's champs is such a backwards step. Alexa does the character side of wrestling well, but she's thoroughly average in the ring. Natalya is boring in every aspect.
I had hoped that Asuka's main roster debut would inject some life into the women's division. But she had an 8 minute match with Emma. It should've been a 3 minute squash. Emma's a nobody in WWE but was given a sizeable amount of offence on Asuka. All the work done in NXT to make Asuka a big deal is being eroded so quickly. Booking of the women's division has been patchy for years but recently it's all been downhill. Charlotte and Becky are the company's two major talents, ring wise and character wise, but they're given nothing to do. I've never been fully sold on Sasha either. And poor Bayley never stood a chance. They murdered her character as soon as she joined Raw.

Only thing I'm looking forward to about Bork vs. Jinder is seeing the poor Singh brothers get completely wiped out.

I doubt that's happening.I'm actually slightly optimistic that AJ is going to take the belt at Night of Champions. I don't think they have Jinder taking the strap into Mania season (the Rumble) when he doesn't move the needle either domestically or in India and gets heat mostly in the "go away" sense of the word.
Plus, the money Mania match for SmackDown is going to be AJ/Nakamura and they have to build to that sooner than later.

I'll agree with that RE: AJ/Nak being the money match for Mania - I sure hope that's the plan anyway.
Ideally the plan would be: AJ wins at Night of Champions, Nak wins the Rumble (maybe?) and you go from there.
On RAW I hope they go with Finn vs. Lesnar at the Rumble - but I know Roman will be the one at Mania, again.
I really hope that if they keep building towards Brock and Lesnar at Mania, that they don't give Roman another rumble win. I know he is the big dog but he gains nothing from winning it.
Give it to Nakamura if AJ vs Nakamura is really happening.

I want AJ/Cena at Wrestlemania. The feud has already run its course, but it's the only match up that will generate a big match buzz for the event. Their other matches have been incredible so that could play into making the match feel even more special. Build it up as the decider between the two.

If we see (ha) Cena at Wrestlemania I'd want it to be a longer match with Joe.
It's not a big money match - but I feel like it'd be up there with the AJ matches.
I honestly don't think AJ/Cena would be that big of an event for Mania, mainly because of it already running its course as you mentioned. Feel like Nak/AJ would be the money match with AJ, as it would create a similar buzz to Finn/AJ. Hell, a properly built up Finn/AJ rematch would be hot too.
No idea where Cena fits into Mania next year though.

I'd be shocked if Finn/AJ II doesn't end up on the Survivor Series card. It's a super easy match for them to do since it's all about Raw vs. SD and neither of them have anything to do for that show.
Maybe now that I'm gonna start posting instead of lurking, I'll probably start watching consistently again. Here's hoping we get Bryan Vs. Kurt in a First person to lose feeling in their feet match at Mania!

Only if we include Vince as one of their managers. But we’re talkin Royal Rumble torn quads Vince.

Andrade movin up in the world! Finally!
I hope they don’t misuse him when they inevitably move him up (who am I kidding).

Yeahh, joking aside, I do too, but it's really tough to feel bad for the ones (like Bryan) who just wont listen. If he ends up crippled to the extent that he can't enjoy the rest of his life comfortably after his WWE contract is up (or they give in to him), I have a hard time feeling sorry. He's got a beautiful family, probably set for life financially and he's so ready to throw it away for wrasslin'. It's sad.
I really don't want to see Bryan wrestle again and I really don't like people on social media encouraging a dude with a history of concussions, neck injuries and seizures to get back in the ring. Go home and be a family man. Your run is over.

This has been my issue (if you can call it that) with seeing people kind of hyping up/cheering for Daniel to wrestle again. While we obviously don’t know the full extent of his health issues, only he does, I would think we also don’t want to see him die or be crippled.
This is a guy who will go 100% if he goes back - there is no half speed. He would be so much better off if he can either a) sit out his contract and retire or b) even go teach at a wrestling school (though I’ve heard he’s not the greatest teacher).
I also do not want to see Daniel Bryan in the ring competing.
I'd love for him to live as long a life as possible without too much trouble.

I mean, he was taught by HBK (briefly) who is also known for not being too hot of a teacher, maybe he learned his teaching technique instead of his promo skills. :p

Man, I still think it’s a huge get for the performance center to have him teaching NXT people though. At least for the promo element yeah.
Adam Cole with HBK teaching him promos = even more gold than he already is. Plus I’ve enjoyed the brief clips of him and Gargano.

We need a few more HBK bumpers in the business. Something between HBK and Ziggler. Got tired of Ziggler's bumping after a while honestly. HBK can cut a great heel promo, top notch smarmy shit. Wonder if Cole has anything left to learn in that department lol
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostAfter Jeff Jarrett's departure from TNA wrestling, what are the plans for Impact Wrestling?
Moving their operations up to Canada completely to cut production costs - so basically a major Canadian promotion? Which is kinda cool if you’re up there.
But the whole title belt situation with that split is just one giant cluster that I don’t know how they’ll fix it.
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostI want to see Rosemary appear in NXT in the near future.
I do wonder if she’ll ever go - I don’t trust WWE to do her gimmick well though.
Also excited to see Ricochet in NXT next year.
By rodeoclown Go To PostAre we sure Ricochet isn't destined to die in 205?
Trying not to think about it - I can see them killing Aleister on 205 too.

So, Ricochet is going to humiliated by Enzo on 205 Live. That's...great.
