I was on GAF for over 10 years. NeoGAF came across as embarrassing to say vocally. I don't think I actually ever said the title out loud more than five times ever. ResetEra is fine. That's meaningless, though. The real test will be in the quality of moderation of the site.

Here's my unasked for and unqualified opinion, let them through if they want(slayven etc.), just don't have a community that is going to prop up and proliferate their community damaging qualities and those like them. Easier said than done I know. But there is a reason they gained a reputation and that is because they were able to gain that reputation without much consequence. They found a niche of allowable shit-posting and thread derailing that was not only tolerated but protected and rewarded.
Slayven and others were not a cause but a symptom of larger underlying structural issues on GAF. Heck, I would argue the saga that led to this place is a component of that as well. At least the story as I understand it.
