Kids were gone to Texas for 6 weeks. My MiL brought them back this past Monday and she stayed till Wed. On Tues, wife took the kids for back-to-school shopping. But even with her mom here, she was semi-freaking out. I was like "wtf, the kids have not even been home for a week yet and they're already getting on your nerves???"

She gives me a small speech concerning how motherhood is different from fatherhood, etc., and how I need to be more empathetic. She was upset for a few days. So I brought her flowers yesterday. Practically sexually assaulted me.

Kids go back to school on Monday. My youngest, the 5 year old, is going for the first time. All of them going to school and FOR FREE. Eight years later, we've made it.

I did that for like 5 years putting myself through undergrad. I missed out on a ton of stuff, but there was a lot more freedom in the work environment, bosses not around, less busy etc. I couldn't have made it otherwise.

I used to think having three kids was ideal. Now as an adult I feel like I barely have enough time to manage my own life, let alone multiple others. I think I might just raise a spoiled single kid and say I've done my duty to perpetuate the human race.

I'll be able to use the time I was cheated out of to focus on the gym. I cut to 150lbs about 2 months ago but now I'm thinking that I may have the time and flexibility to go for a real diet (first time since college). I feel like I can touch 175/10% by the end of the year.

When I came out of the arizona wildfires back in 2011, I was pushing 140. My weight's always fluctuated like crazy though. I've been 'comfortable' at 160-165 for the past year or so really but my playing weight in college was between 180-190. But back then I treated eating like a job.

I always knew it was weird. Doesn't really panic me like it used to.

As of late I've been getting more and more serious looking into the possibilities of moving to Hawaii. Spent this past weekend doing a bunch of reading and research. PMd some people on GAF that stay over there. A plan is starting to form to make it a possibility. Probably won't happen until 2017 at the earliest. I need to stay at my current job for at least 1.5 more years so that I am vested for the pension plan. After that I think I can start making some moves to make it happen. Wife is completely on board with it so it would really come down to me...

Bad news: We have to move and basically start all over again with our "family away from home" circle. TBQH I never made any *real* friends in the eight years I've lived here, but it will be devastating for my wife and kids.

Divorce settlement should be signed by a judge next Wed. So happy. I ended up getting 99% of what I wanted in the agreement. I have my daughter every Tues overnight and then Wed for dinner and every other weekend from Fri-Sun. Equal time during the summer, shared holidays, etc. Finally put this behind me and move on to the next chapter of my life.

I'm 20x happier today than I was 10 months ago. A job that I am passionate about that has limitless potential, a girl that I'm crazy about, and a much bigger group of close friends. If this old as man can provide any wisdom to any of you young bucks it's the following: 1) make sure you live with the person you want to marry BEFORE the wedding; 2) if you're dating someone who isn't your best friend in the world, get the fuck out of dodge because it doesn't get better; 3) It's much better to be alone and sad than to stay in a relationship that you're even more unhappy in; 4) never give up who you are as a person for anyone, including a SO. It's not worth it. 5) Man up and end a relationship before you end up choosing to cheat.

Off and on during these years . We lived together twice. Waited until I graduated from college and got a job, and even then I waited until I had a few years under my belt in this position before doing so.
