Job wants me to move out to NYC from Chicago for a small promotion and to lead a small team so I'm not carrying a whole line of business on my back along with doing client consulting. My lease ends in August so its not *that* big a deal. It's gonna have a nice relo package along with location/COLA along with the standard raise, so I'm looking at going from 95k to 130-135k a year. LOL, it's less than 150K but it's not working somewhere with more education than everyone there. If it's a three month contract at less than 150K that would still be enough to cover my rent here in case they chose not to retain me.

So I impulsively moved from Portland to Eugene this year and it was pretty scary at the time, but I've finally been matched up with a really good transcription job after a few miserable months driving for dominos. My salary is basically being doubled and I'm working normal hours now. Feels good.

Been a great trip for a first time to the west coast. Did a lot if sight seeing and ate a ton of food. Food here is pretty legit. People were extra nice. I liked that anywhere in the city whatever you wanted to do was at most 20 mins away.This is the opposite of Houston. Will also miss the perfect weather, but not that cold as fuck Pacific.

today i found out that my knee issues (why i cut weight hard as fuck 182-150ish ) were completely misdiagnosed. this japanese doctor took one look at my left knee, laughed, and asked if i'd ever received a CT scan back in ft. hood.
"no... they just told me to rest for a week or two, ice it, and get back to work. not a big deal"
