The P.A. teacher tried to save the kid. Could not.

Our colleague acted incredibly. He had to protect kids, try to save one, and he did it all out of instinct.
Last year, october too, a 13 yo was killed during a gang fight, with some of our students involved already. It was a saturday. We did not protest then, in spite of my desire to do so.
Here's how this went down this time from my POV Friday 11am, a 15 yo comes running to the high school looking for protection, bleeding, head wound. Rumors go wild. Cops run through the high school around 45 minutes after, armed, looking for suspects. Some students go back home, others stay.
We are eventually told a fight happened at the stadium (a 10 minutes walk from where we usually teach). Our admins do not say much. Dozens of kid tell us the story eventually: old rivalries between cities. Our colleague tried everything to save the kid. At 2pm he comes back to the main building, covered in blood, empty face. Important people wearing ties kept showing up all day.
All the teacher remember last year and how it went: we had a few psychiatrists at hand for a few days. We had cops in front of the entrance of the school. Then they left. And now one year later, back to square one.
Since then, we have been pressured to teach, but we know how dangerous the situation is. Social networks are blazing with messages supporting the killers, and others are promising to retaliate in revenge. Monday, 2 knifes were found hidden in the bushes.
The PA teacher came back to work today, in tears, touched that we are protesting the situation. I know I'm not stopping to fight for more involvement from the State in our social services, for the safety of the kids.
I know you guys don't understand french, but here's one of the few media things i've been doing.

So sorry to hear this man
By Kabro Go To PostYou should take some time off Gaby.
How I feel. After you're at a point in which you can step back, take some time for yourself.
By DY_nasty Go To PostBeen here three days and already dreading going to work 😂 fuck this entire cultureLol goddamn
Time to put in more apps?
By MonadL Go To PostLol goddamnGiving it two weeks I guess. Gonna call my contracting company later because this is the worst onboarding process I've ever been a part of. Nothing works, Ive been shoved in the back of an office on a different floor away from everything I'm supposed to be a part of, and the people I do interact with either don't know what I'm supposed to be doing or definitely don't want me doing it.

The money is good but this is just plain bad. First 30/90 days for a new hire basically sets the tone of their entire tenure for most. And at this level? It's actively dangerous lol...
our people letting me down at work lately. 3 ppl pulled a "no call no show" quit in the last week and a half.
we barely have any black people as is. now its just making it harder.

Everything you've described about that place sounds jacked up. The only reason it sounds like you like it is because you've got a good relationship with clients and the ownership. Not in a necessarily healthy way either.
Sometimes it ain't even worth the investment or frustration. Quitting without wasting time is probably the best answer for everyone at times.

I know shitty workplaces by now lol
Not my fault I got too much self esteem to pretend like hating life is normal.

First rule of sales is to know what your selling and to whom you’re selling to
