By blackace Go To PostAre we pretending that Minny isn't just cold Texas?
Lol that would legit be news to me.
Far as I'm aware, Minnesota and Illinois didn't even need a blue wave. When it came to the election that will forever live in infamy, Minnesota and Illinois were blue islands onto themselves. And Minnesota has been the more consistent blue island in almost every election.
If anything, Texas ought to hope that it can one day be the hot Minny.

Minny is just one of the places where huge cities really count..
Washington State is kind of the same way without (as much) the KKK history...

Yeah, I definitely didn't know about that. I ain't never been to Minny, and haven't read up much on its cultural history, especially as it would pertain to the rural parts, but it is in fact disheartening to learn that Minny suffers a share of KKK history.
I been to SEATAC airport before though. And then got an ORCA card to ride the light rail to visit the downtown mall and then catch some other type of rail car from there to the Space Needle. It was cool how that thing rotates on the inside, which is like a built in restaurant.
Man, if Apollo ever saw the chicks that live in Seattle, he would never leave. Goddamn.
Seattle is great if you got money and don't really want a night life...I will say Seattle and greater Seattle area police are about as good as you will in the states...
My dream is to live in a coastal city with a really low population.
Because I want to be able to surf but I don't want to deal with people. Which I've accepted is impossible, but that's why it's the dream setting.

I'm partial to a secular Middle Eastern state myself.
I would like a Middle Eastern version of Prague tbh.

Ordering my first non-spring mattress. Slept on a hybrid one for a few nights last weekend and liked it better than my aunt's sleep number. Probably going with the zenhaven latex mattress as it is good, should last at least 12 years (supposedly 20), and is within my budget.
Owner didn't bit on first offer. Think I'm looking at doing another remodel ....
On the plus side I just got back from a 2 day deep sea fishing trip. On the downside, I didn't catch a ton of fish, though I did get me some decent Yellow Fin Tuna. Time for homemade poke!

Won tickets at work for Astros v Mariners tomorrow, right behind home plate. There's Diamond section seats that show on camera, these are right behind those. Asked about Rocket tickets and they have floor seat season tickets that they give out . About to get in gud with the admin assistant
By Random Ass Username Go To PostGet seats by the announcers table so we can hear the trolling.
Floor seats is one of those check box things for me. Sitting at half court in the lower bowl watching OG Thunder v Rockets was dope , can't imagine being on the floor.

...you'd probably be better off getting a passport, buying a plane ticket to Germany, and getting a free education there.

Just be a jerk and go social with it. It's easy. If you don't have a moral compass you can become rich.
After a year and a half at my current job I've handed in my resignation letter.
I may have mentioned it before, but I currently work for a Mortgage Company as a Project Manager We've been through a few different cuts in the past year. All unannounced of course, so I've essentially come in on a Friday morning, noticed that the parking lot is slightly emptier than usual and when I check my email I see all these offboards. The desktop support team let 2 people go. The application support team let 3 people go. Help desk is down 2 people. Etc. Each time my IT manager would pull our team aside and say that we're all safe, dependable, the only team he can trust and lets upper management know that. Through a year of different cuts, we've remained in tact, which is something, i guess...
The last cut, mid August was the worst. Morale is in the shitter. We had a all-hands meeting the following Monday where the CIO feigned regret over what had happened and said everyone will have to pitch in and do other peoples roles to compensate. The typical, all the cuts are over , spiel was said and while the market is struggling, he feels good about the companies prospects. Ok.. TBH, we do have a lot of mortgage branch offices, but my team handles the opens and closures, so we can definitely see the trends. While we might get 3 or 4 locations opening up, 4 or 5 are in the process of closing down.
I've had enough and started looking for other work. I got an email about a role similar to mine with more technical responsibilities. It pays quite a bit more per hour and the commute is much easier. I interviewed for it and was offered and accepted it. Told my boss this morning and just have to sign the new paperwork. 2 weeks and I'm out.

No counter offer. My manager has accepted it. Now needs to go through to HR. I've already had another manager come by and high five me. He too is looking for other work. That's no surprise to me, everyone has to be looking out for themselves at this time.
