By data Go To PostAnyone ever gotten invisiline braces?I just wrapped up a few months ago. What's up?
By reilo Go To PostI just wrapped up a few months ago. What's up?Just wondering how it was? I've already set up for a free consultation. Only my top row need them and I've already had those wisdom teeth removed. I'm not going to do it if it doesn't fix my buck teeth though
It was expensive and a bit arduous. There's a lot of responsibility and upkeep. You're expected to keep them in for a minimum of 20 hours per day so you lose out on the spontaneity of eating and drinking whenever. You need to balance out knowing when you're gonna go out and drink / eat with keeping them in long enough.
It does take longer than braces, but each retainer only takes ten days instead of fourteen when I started.
You need to keep them clean all the time (trust me, you want to) and you can only drink water while they are in. I also highly doubt any ortho will only treat your upper teeth because you might have alignment issues that they will definitely want to correct to seat your top teeth proper with your lower. This is especially true if you have an overbite.
But in the end it was well worth it.

Ask me anything about braces or using a herbst appliance to correct a severe overbite (I couldn't bite into an apple). I even have lifelong, permanent retainers attached to both top and bottom teeth.
sometimes i wish i had a permanent retainer on my top teeth. my tongue sits right on my two front top teeth so it pushes out and makes a gap. it's a family trait on my dad's side.
Fell out of escrow. FUCK. Buyer got in a car accident leaving the house from the inspection and took it as a sign that she shouldn't buy. Thankfully we have a backup offer that will slide into escrow this morning, but it's for less money which sucks.
Also Termite inspections is a scam.

A house we really liked slashed 50K of their price too. We were starting to get the point where we could look serioulsy. Just needed to make the inspection contingency ....

Superstitious buyer. I guess this is pretty common with Chinese buyers.
Some people must have a lot of choice and money. I can't imagine backing out of something I liked in that way. But it's true some cultures are really about the house being a certain way or see signs in certain things. My parents were pretty forward thinking about this and my dad put some stuff in our old family home to mitigate the bad feng shui in the design of our house (stairs facing the front door is a huge no no) and yard. Even if you're not into the spiritual energy thing it's still pretty good choices for making spaces look more inviting and grounded all at the same time. At some point I do want a running water fountain just because the noise calms my ass down.
By Smokey Go To PostFell out of escrow means…?Backed out which you can do at any time or one of the checks in the process failed. If someone is trying to secure an FHA loan it's a whole batch of fuck that takes a while. Escrow is basically the whole process of accepting a bid from a buyer and then the process of inspections, disclosures, negotiations, goes on.
Enlighten me Giant Fender-san

When you buy or sell a house you enter a period of transfer called "escrow". The buyer and seller agree to a time length. Generally 30 days. Gives time for inspection, termite, packing, loan approval etc. The buyer puts down a good faith deposit. They then generally have 17 days to back out of escrow without losing that good faith deposit.
We were on like days 10 of escrow. The buyer came to the house to watch the inspection. When everything was done she left and got into an accident and thought it was prophetic or some shit and backed out.

.
They were bringing 300K down so they're not poppers. The first house my parents built back in like 83' had a staircase that landed at the front door and they couldn't sell to Chinese people because of that. They didn't design their second house like that. This buyer, before even entering escrow, asked about hospice at the house and various decorations and their meanings. We're less than a mile from a highly rated grammar school and high school. They had kids too ... whatever. People got their own priorities and that's OK. It's just incredibly frustrating.

See, they're the type fucking it up for everybody else. How in the world is someone supposed to compete against someone dropping 300k down on a house, jesus
By Smokey Go To PostThanks RAU and FenderJust wait til you hear about the foreign investors buying property sight unseen 20% above listing -- in cash.

It's less shocking if they're not a first time buyer ( these people were). They just got 300K cash. I have close zero liquidity, but since I got in the market in 2009, when I sell I'll bring 200K down for my next house.

2008-2009 market was insanity. A short sale would go up, we would put an offer down site unseen for 20% over asking, and we would lose to someone with all cash. They even created a law where first time home buyers got to put offers in before investors on short sales and the banks just waited the initial offers out before going to the investor with all cash.
staircases facing the front door...
i'd never think of these things. my favorite place i lived had a staircase basically right at the door.

By Smokey Go To PostThanks RAU and FenderI can't throw stones because fam threw a lot of money down but it was basically trading homes. And we had money let over because of a downsize. But we actually live here. I'm pretty sure one of my neighbors is just leasing their home out which kind of irks me. I just hope it doesn't turn into a slumlord situ. My previous neighbor was a good dude who did work on that home. If it gets treated poorly I'm going to be so pissed on his behalf.

One of the reasons I wanted to sell to the lady that backed out was this. She was actually going to live there and had kids. It's a good neighborhood. The back up we're sliding into this morning is mostly likely just an investor trying to park money.

Big multigen family. Exactly what that huge ass house needed.
Well guys, I did it. I sent off an email to the local youth basketball association asking to volunteer, preferably at an assistant coaching position.
I've been wanting to work with kids for some time now and this seems to be the best place for me to start (shout out to Dy for sanity checking me).

There needs to be more balance in myself and my life, this BPD will not define me. I still constantly think innapropriate thoughts about one of my closest friends and will always reject it wholesale, but it's getting closer and closer to destruction. I realise the problem and it seems the best way is to move myself far, far away from my current predicament, like moving up north or cross countries or something. I will save myself, as stupid as this seems. I will not go down.
What is your space like? There's no point in recommending stuff if you don't have adequate storage/work space. Also I've seen a bunch of places at least here that offer lessons for all kinds of types of crafting (including wood work) and you can take home what you build since it's in factored into the cost. Why not just use your spare time to learn some bit of physical crafting whether it be word work, etching, etc. Some places you can even go make jewelry for yourself as part of the class.

I would not like wood working.
I have an attached garage now so I can fit a project car in it, but I can't do any welding -- and doing a shaven engine bay project would be dope af, but alas.
