Sounds like she is giving u mixed signals and shit test. You did the right thing by saying it was up to her and then go about your business. Yeah it made you feel forlorn but the worse thing you could do is show it to her.
1) you got to stop texting her as much and call her more. Its a lot easier to figure out how a girl feels about you by talking than text.
2) Either she was about to give it up (and she started acting weird because she didn't want to, even though she wanted to), or she is not that into you.
3) Its about time you get a confirmation either way. Don't just ask her though, shit will just end up with you texting each other again. When in doubt I go with my gut (and how much I am willing to spend to hook up with a woman). Either I hit her with the #HOH philosophy and just cut her off. Or I try to impress her enough that she has to admit I would be a good man to date (and by default hook up with). Considering I think you guys would be on your third date next time you go out, I would say fuck it and give it another go.
I would recommend taking her out to some place nice, telling her to dress pretty (you got to dress well yourself to look sharp, and use cologne). Buy her a decent meal (but God help you wallet come prepared to spend), do an activity (billards, karaoke, movies etc) or to a bar for a few drinks (always at a different venue) and then recommending you both go back to your house (make sure its your house) to smoke some weed, drink some thug passion, (IE whatever she is into) and listen to musie (do not say your going to your house to watch movie, movies are lame at the end of the night because of the the time commitment).
If she calls you out on going to your house say "I just like spending time with you, so why end the night now?". If she says "nothing is going to happen" still insist on going to your house because something might happen. Once there continue to talk, smoke, drink, and see where the vibe take you. Ig the plan goes as follows and you guys don't at least make out at some point (or at least she confesses her feeling for you). She's just not into you.
(also always see if she'll let you hold her hand through the date. Maybe between the meal and the activity)
If that happens don't stress it man. Beautiful women are everywhere. Get on Tinder its the defacto hooking up app. If you want to meet girls outside of the internet downtown bars at happy hour, yoga (or any organized exercise class), and Shopping centers (malls, walmarts, etc). I would say take a college class but 23 is college senior territory. You would mostly be dealing with people 18-22 there just based on odds and short term enrollment.
Baldy can't afford condoms let a lone a fancy meal.
plez.
I mean baldy is always going to the bar? I assumed he had a little money......
If your broke though idk, if she is paying nothing is wrong with that but your going to likely have to let her play her mind games.
On the plus side if you get tired of that Tinder is free though
By Zeus Ex MachinaThanks for the post. Unfortunately, we talked, and she is extremely depressed and has been for the last 3 years. She told me that she doesn't know how to express her feelings and that she "doesn't really feel emotions anymore". Also, "she doesn't know how to feel about anything" and "it's kind of like a hazy screen between the world and I. Everything seems dull and I feel like I'm not feeling like I shoudl be." She told me that she feels she needs to fix herself so that she doesn't ruin anyone else, aka she's not in a place for a relationship, regardless of any feelings we both have for each other. And yes, she has feelings for me. Aka the old "it's not you, it's me." I let her know I understand and that I'm more than happy to let her figure it out, that I will help her and be there for her any way that I can. All I could really say to that was that she is severely depress needs therapy. She 100% agreed.By balddemonAnd now we're texting like we're dating. Idk. I need a gurl like her that's my age. I also told her to call me if she ever needs anything, as well as that exercise and getting proper sleep are two of the best ways to combat depression. I think what she really needs is to move away from the city that we live in to a smaller town. She pretty much hates it here other than a few select people and things. She apparently really had no friends in HS, and the few people she was close to are all away at college.
So, for now, I'm just going to be a friend to her, show her that I care about her, and suppress the feels. She's a great smoking buddy and has a dope hot tub so that's a plus of being her friend haha. I would get Tinder, but I have a shitty Windows Phone. I am gonna have to get a new phone soon smh. Also I can't take her to a bar anyways, she's only 18 :P But I am taking a class that starts tomorrow.
Again, thanks for your advice man. Much appreciated.
All this... not working 18 hour days has really opened things up for me. Last couple of months my friend put a basketball in my hand and I've gradually been working my way back into shape on the court. It was just for fucks at first, but two months ago I decided to make the commitment to becoming a right handed shooter (my left arm/shoulder just can't cut it after the injury stuff).
First 3 weeks were rough to say the least - but now... its fucking ridiculous after everything, but I really feel like I'll be able to shoot better with my right than I ever did with my left. I haven't ever had confidence in my shooting. Now I'm feeling like its my first option. I've still got a ways to go but the whole experience so far has really done a lot for me. Just being able to chill the hell out, get Texas out of my system, and just zone while actually seeing improvement in myself. Still got a ways to go. My balance needs work and I could use 3 months more of leg days but I really think I'll get to where I want to be on the court again.
feels, etc

By YamabroGetting your legs back to basketball ready is a bitch. I'm done after a game.Dead lifts save lives. Probably got more out of a week of that than I did in two months when I tried to get back to basketball a few years ago.
But its still rough... I'm way past the point in my life where I can play all day long with nothing but a Pepsi on my stomach. I've got pain management down pretty good but strengthening shit that I've simply ignored for the past few years is the new grind. Another great thing about 24 hour fitness here in Hawaii is that the basketball court is always completely deserted. I get to shoot for hours uninterrupted. Bliss.

Oh I havent dead lifted since my lower back problems started up.
Went back to the doc for my 4 week check up on my ankle. Still swollen, but not nearly as bad as it was. I have a Grade 3 sprain which is a severe sprain and involves torn ligaments. They weren't to the point to where it requires surgery, but foot still swole after one month. 8-12 week recovery period and i'm only on week 4. Shit sucks. Going to start physical therapy next week.

I was working out at mine last night and took a peak at the basketball court. There must have been roughly 30 people in there, with 20 waiting just to get some run in.

Man fuck open concept offices. A month ago we moved into a temporary location that is a Research Center. We're supposed to be here for a year until our new spot is finished being built sometime in Q4/Q1 2016. The new campus and other locations are all state of the art open office concepts. So to get us "prepared" for this, our manager thought it would be a good idea for us to go to this concept in our temporary building. Everybody else that relocated to the building has their own office...same as before. We are literally the only group that has this open concept in the building. It is draining listening to the brown nose next to me continually suck up to people and display his awful fake laugh. I've probably put myself on a path to go deaf trying to drown noise out. Even worse when you're trying to debug script/code and you can't concentrate because of the environment. I blame Google for this BS. First world problems but...fuck.

Open plan offices are a fad that is fading for the most part. They're proven to be net negatives. Just like the "Temporary Desk" thing. Where you don't have a desk, you just have a box. Each day you get assigned to a new desk and your box of work stuff will be waiting for you on your desk. And every afternoon you pack up your box and it gets collected.
The theory around it was "interesting" but it was very HR bull shit, and most people saw it when it was first floated. But you know corporates, they love to fuck around.

I LOOOOOVE having two people sit behind me and stare at my monitor said noone ever.
I actually get the most done at coffee shops because I don't know anyone there so what I am doing/looking at doesn't concern them. Most of the time I tend to sit in a section where noone can stare at my shit at a coffee shop, either.
I got in at 630a today and only one other person was here and they aren't apart of my team. Was able to get shit done and it was nice and quiet. May have to start doing this schedule.
I think they are going to try and pull that new desk ever day thing that giri was talking about whenever we move to the campus. Fuck that. People are territorial I have no idea how they think that is a good idea. It won't last long if they do.

Agreed. I performed quite poorly in office environments where I was restricted of being able to use the web, non stop work, having to have limited bathroom breaks, etc. Having coworkers view my monitor, having supervisors obsess over every piece of data including call volume, emails, how long each call lasts, when I'm at the office, when I'm not, chatter between myself and coworkers. It was the most draining aspect of the job and one reason why I never stayed for more than two years at a time. I'm getting more done now than ever before being my own boss and answering to nobody but myself.
Corporations need to realize that if you're going to treat your employees like rats in a maze without providing them with trust and the ability to manage themselves, they're going to burn out or simply not produce to the best of their ability which is going to add more costs to the business itself. Losing core players, finding new talent, training, making sure they mesh well with the team, and on and on. Ugh, memories.
Some of you guys might remember the girl I hooked up with who told me it was alright I didn't have a condom and that I could just finish inside her. On the 2nd night we knew each other. Yall called me crazy and that's where the condom joke giri made comes from 😐 but, things ended terribly and lately I've been thinking about her a lot. So I texted her to apologize. All I expected was a curt thank you and goodbye. Instead I got a heartfelt thank you, acceptance, and we might be gong out for dinner and drinks soon. Pending her response, that is. I really miss this girl and hope she says yes. I cannot believe how well this conversation is going. I'm waiting for her to drop a boyfriend bomb on me because there is no way this is happening.

Anyways, doesn't matter since she did offer a second chance, but it's as friends and she suggested we get lunch and split the check. Since she's currently dating someone. Damn it. I'm thinking about going out for lunch with her, just so we can become friends. Not hoping for anything down the line, but friends would be nice. What do you guys think?

Besides, even if we had gone for dinner and drinks, I wouldn't have tried to bang her. I'm all about taking it slow these days unless it's clearly going to be a one night stand. I think I will grab lunch with her. I need more friends. My best friend is moving to Ohio and it sucks because we do pretty much everything together. I don't need a replacement, just need to figure out how to have more than just 1 super close friend.
and yes DY I suck at these kinds of friends but I need to figure it out. I'm not even sure I know how to be a good friend anyways. I'm getting older and growing up, and if I can't have meaningful relationships with other people, life is gonna suck.

They basically are. In the large Corporate HR Bull shit world, they're finding that the deskless worker, and the open plan aren't working long term.
The idea behind the deskless worker is that at any given point in time a large company expects to have at least 10% of its work force call in sick / On leave / Long service etc. So they can save on rent, by not everyone needing a desk you can lease less floor space. Lots of companies have increased this percentage by having enforced "work at home days" and trying to get the percentage to 70%.
But they're finding that workers lose some productivity in setting up/packing up each day. Not having everything at their desk where they want it. Not being able to fully customise their workspace, having manuals/books where you want. Stuff stuck on your wall for quick reminders etc.
The work from home thing has been covered a lot in IT circles, but most companies are finding it has limited benefits. The way to get the best out of your teams is to have them there near each other, for numerous reasons. Sharing of knowledge is a huge one. It's also a lot easier to clarify points and make sure everyone is on the same page.
The open floor plan is failing because people are spending too much time making sure they look like they're doing their job and not actually doing their job. For a lot of the reasons you guys listed. But it's also stifling creativity because people don't want to be seen to be "stuffing" around. It's also seen to be limiting socialising and mind share. Both of which are important community aspects to long term happy work places.
I used to see a lot of it in Insurance. Particularly the large London/US insurers have fun following these trends. Its funny hearing some of the stories from workers from those areas. I was working with actuaries from one of those companies and she said all the women in the office had multiples pairs of shoes there (everyone who works with women will note they have 2 or 3 pairs of shoes under their desk). But that would obviously not fit in their "box" each day. So they just had filing cabinet draws that were reserved for their shoes. So the work place was essentially paying floor rent just for a reserved shoe rack.
I don't know what the next big bullshit will be. But it seems a lot of the larger companies are sick of "trending" in the area and are looking for ways to bail out of them.

Brief people who make 100x more than me, pull rabbits out of my ass when describing the strategic importance of equipment I haven't even read the manual for, make a friend for life underneath a hotel bathroom sink, make small talk with murderers...
but "hi, my name is jon" vs the girl at starbucks feels like a mountain for me at times. i've got a lot better over the years though.
I've had girls hit on me, and I recognize that it's happening, and I am able to talk to them just fine, but then it comes to that point and I turn into a drooling mouthbreather and awkwardly walk away while mumbling something dumb.
Looks like 2015 is gonna be a big one for me after 2.5 years of just shuffling along after graduating. Just moved last week from DC to NoVA (not my choice, but whatever). Found out I probably won't be getting a raise (2% inflation adjustment aside) even though analysts who started the year after me (2013 and on) are getting a 10% bump across the board through what HR calls "market adjustment". Which means I will be making 10% less than folks who have one fewer year of experience and don't contribute the same amount I do. So I guess I'll be looking for a new job. Which also means that I might move again in 3 or 4 months. Feels bad mang.
On top of that I should be studying for the GMAT and applying for B School by end of year to enroll for 2016.
Good times!

I am going through the process of refinancing all of my bad debt I've accumulated with my local credit union, and now I honestly don't see why anyone would ever go with a big bank ever again. Every deal my local credit union has offered me thus far (and I've had loans through them before) is mindblowingly better than what I got from say, Wells Fargo just a mere three months ago. The rates are just so much better.
My two cents on all this relationship/dating/approaching stuff.
Feeling anxiety when talking with a stranger/girl is pretty commonplace. I can count on one hand the amount of men I've talked to who have told me they feel no anxiety whatsoever and I actually believe them.
It's also common place to get rejected more often than not, especially if you're an averaging looking dude with an average bank account.
So if you're not struggling with a speech impediment, or just generally bad at public speaking, struggling is all in your head. And the only way to lower that obstacle some is to convince yourself that you're stressing for no real reason. You can do this either with powerful logical persuasion, or more likely, experience.
If you can properly filter out what's asshole behavior, and what's useful information, PUA stuff can help. It definitely helped me, although I've been out of the dating scene for about 2.5 years.
Yea. They usually are. I don't know what specific kind of debt you're talking about as it usually varies, but large lenders usually charge more for convenience, brand name, and gimmicks like cash back and bonus points.

By reiloI am going through the process of refinancing all of my bad debt I've accumulated with my local credit union, and now I honestly don't see why anyone would ever go with a big bank ever again. Every deal my local credit union has offered me thus far (and I've had loans through them before) is mindblowingly better than what I got from say, Wells Fargo just a mere three months ago. The rates are just so much better.

Auto loans and unsecured credit including student loans. The rates I'm getting on the latter is especially mind blowing.

Credit unions rule.

Oh yea, that's most credit unions' bread and butter. The last car I financed was through a credit union too. Plus they'll usually knock down your rate some if you enroll in auto pay, stuff like that. Definitely the way to go.

Federal loans like Parent PLUS, etc.

Yeah, they've always given me a 0.5% off if I do auto-pay.
By reiloHmm... I have some Grad Plus loans I'd like to get knocked down. I'll have to look into this.By KingGondoBy reiloAuto loans and unsecured credit including student loans. Last year got a tax return of $9,000.
Ended up getting a better job in 2014. My wife and I both. Tax return is not nearly as robust this year, but I'll take it. I'll most likely earn enough to OWE next year, so I'm enjoying it one last time.

tl:dr version: one of the dudes who was making my life difficult at my new job messed around and did some stuff to get himself fired.
I am trying very, very, very hard not to be glad, but I am failing something awful.
