Doom 2016, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 2, Overwatch, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Quake 1
Not really sure on where to place stuff like Deus Ex, VTMB or Resident Evil 7. Calling them an FPS feels a bit weird. Also despite all its flaws and general badn ature, I kind of have a soft spot for Postal 2. I even bought the rerelease on Steam and played the new expansion and had a good time.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI think my biggest "you should feel bad for not playing" are Deus Ex and Battlefield 2.
I think if Squenix want to win back some goodwill for the brand, an HD remaster/remake of the first Deus Ex would be a relatively cost effective and popular choice.
I used to fuck with Tribes heavy back in the day, shit was fun as fuck. I love Turok 2. I remember opening my Christmas present early just so I could play it.
Grim Dawn was fun.
Next on the backlog is The Last Remnant.

By Phoenix RISING Go To PostI demand to know all of your top FPS.Boarderlands 1/2 / Bioshock 1/2 / Dying Light
We're not talking about top as in "changed the industry." I wanna know your personal favorites.
Mine are Quake 2, Duke 3D, Crysis, HL2, AvP, Overwatch, and of course DOOM
I forgot about F.E.A.R. add that to my list.
I liked Bioshock 1 up to the twist, like everyone. I hardly remember Bio 2. I recently played Infinite, md enjoyed it thoroughly.
I see the pattern here is MP focus. Thanks for sharing.

I am not a FPS guy... like a few of them but prefer 3rd person. But co-op games are my fav FPS games

Kibner tells no lies about Natural Selection. One of the best multiplayer games of all time. It's a shame they destroyed the feel and synergies of the original game in the sequel.
played a bit of zelda at my buddy's place
its solid, a lot better than skyward sword but lol this shit would get 8s if ubisoft's logo was on it

Nah, once you get past the superficial similarities, you can see how much more care went into all those elements than in a Ubi game. Climbing towers turns into a puzzle past a certain point. Gameplay is much tighter than any Assassin's Creed. The frame rate dips, but there's no actual jank anywhere. There isn't the same copy & pasted feel a lot of Ubi games have. I'm not even anti-Ubi or anything , Black Flag's one of my favourite games of the past few years, but they make games on a tight schedule across global teams that aren't all that integrated and it shows. BotW is a better crafted experience anything they've ever done.
I am reading that Zelda's basic world setting is kind of the same as Horizon's... no wonder they are being compared so often..
Just got Overwatch for really cheap.
I don't really like first person shooting games, but I played Overwatch at Naturals before and I thought it was fun and wasn't as bad as the other experiences I have with first person game.
Any characters to recommend, before I go in and find out I'm playing someone wrong.
Like what is their closest RPG class equivalent for these heroes?
If it counts, I prefer third person shooters and I enjoy playing support in Splatoon. I liked Vanquish, Splatoon, and Biohazard 6.

By shun Go To PostI heard that the PC and PS4 versions don't have cross play and are completely different.
Any pointers for someone who prefers third person shooting and doesn't like first person, but generally had some fun with this game.
Do first person shooting games have frame data and frame traps and optimal damage set ups like a competitive fighting game?
Perfect Dark, Overwatch, Mirror's Edge, Destiny. Those are the only FPS games I liked/tolerated. I've chucked the genre as a whole in the bushes.
EDIT: shun, what type of support style do you like to play in general?

Some well-rounded characters to learn: Ana, Reinhardt, Zarya, Soldier 76, McCree, Lucio, D.Va.
Some require better aim than others to be effective but they work in 90% of all lineups.
how much hype would it be getting if it was a ps4 exclusive I wonder
the human on human combat is 5x better than horizon for sure and the slow down time and shoot people with bows mechanics are straight out of that game as well
The nemesis system has always been a unique and interesting gameplay mechanic that I don't mind messing around with again. I'm intrigued by the fact that this game seems to have more emphasis on sieging places and combat because the stealth aspects started to become tiresome with the original. I see there are still some stealth elements here, but doing away with the emphasis on that considerably should help this game a LOT.
Probably not a day 1, but I'll definitely keep my eye on it. Maybe a rental or steam sale purchase.

Join me. BF1.
Yeah, I bought that combo pack for the two. Didn't get the Premium Pass or whatever for BF1, though. So, I'll be behind on any expansions they release for it.
Siberia II is also their free game, if anyone wants to login and claim it.

Good squad makes a large difference in BF. Protip: Disable the in game chat. Toxic AF. The premium pack hits next week and can't wait. I've put 70 hours into the MP since I got it in Feb or whenever. Dying for content.

Chill.
BF impossible to play with a controller
I mean if yall fuck with it i'll fuck with it--I just need a squad.
BF with all that sweet sweet aim assist would be perfectly playable on console though.
Shit you need a pilots license to fly aircraft with mouse and keyboard in BF games

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postis it checkerboard 4k on ps4?I can just hook it up via Steam Link and enable aim assist for my 360/PS4/Steam Controller if big screen is all I really wanted. :P
BF deserves the big screen treatment smokey you know it to be true
Granted, it would be 1080p, but it would be at 60fps with a whole bunch of AA.

Rightfully so. DICE should be shamed.

GeForce Mass Effect Andromeda article
Today, we’re unveiling the graphics settings for the PC version, and showing four 4K screenshots captured at max detail levels using NVIDIA Ansel and its Free Camera and Super Resolution options.
If you’ve played other Frostbite Engine games, such as Battlefield 1 and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, you’ll know that titles built on DICE and EA’s engine run well and feature a good range of graphics options. Unsurprisingly then Mass Effect: Andromeda continues the trend, enabling you to scale image quality and performance to suit systems old and new.
As you can see below in screen captures of the WIP graphics menu, Mass Effect: Andromeda gives you options for Ambient Occlusion, Anti-Aliasing, Chromatic Aberration, Effects Quality, Film Grain, Lighting Quality, Mesh Quality, Post-Process Effect Quality, Resolution Scaling, Shader Quality, Shadow Quality, Terrain Quality, Texture Filtering Quality, Texture Quality, and Vegetation Quality.
In total there are 16 options that affect image quality, most of which have several detail levels. Additionally, Mass Effect: Andromeda players with a HDR television, or a G-SYNC HDR monitor, can enable the best implementation of HDR seen to date on PC with one flick of a switch in the Video menu.
If you wish to crank those 16 options to their maximum levels, or run at higher resolutions with higher framerates, you’ll want to equip your system with a faster GPU, such as the GeForce GTX 1070, GeForce GTX 1080, or newly-announced GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

play Mass Effect: Andromeda on your big-screen TV at up to 4K 60 FPS, with HDR, via GameStream.
da fuk is this? Gamestream . 4k60HDR to your TV?
Kibneerrrrrrr
By Smokey Go To PostE: Hol upGameStream apparently requires a SHIELD device and a Bluetooth controller. I have no idea how configurable the controller is or how the latency compares to the Steam Link. SHIELD is only wifi unless you use a micro-b USB to ethernet adapter (which may have other issues) while Steam Link can be wired or wireless.

Steam Link is limited to 1080p and 60 fps. A SHIELD device costs $200 compared to $50 for the Link. I think they both have access to the same encoders.
It might not be much more expensive to buy a long HDMI cable and get someone to go run it through your walls than to buy a SHIELD. Maybe. I don't know how much that kind of labor would cost.

so basically a bunch of people on PC are using mice that are disguised as controllers and getting access to aim assist to boot oh ok
but ok for real though if I can get aim assist with my controller and play in actual legit 4k on PC with yall then that's the #1 seed, I'll start my DL tonight--shit is gonna look ridiculous on the big screen
Horizon's fetch quests don't really feel like fetch quests if you know what I mean
When you're fetching more than one item they're in a tiny area and easy to find, and the thing you're fetching is usually tied to a proper sidemission, or you have to do something fun to get it, like killing behemoths
