You're right. It started in like 2007 right? Making it the best franchise of the last two decades.
Don't care about your response because it isn't giant fucking robots fighting each other and helping humans not not be shit since the beginning of time
Haven't seen a Transformers film since the second one, which is objectively one of the worst films ever made and experiencing it is likely worse than your arsehole prolapsing at the same time Doctor Octopus is giving you a nipple cripple and a family of rabid beavers are gnawing away at your frayed cock.

Fallen is horrible. Worst one of the series. The rest are so utterly ridiculous I can't hate on them. The new one is insanely stupid but also entertaining. It never stops moving, has legitimate jokes, and Anthony Hopkins gives someone the finger while his robot butler drives him through London in a high speed chase

I've watched thousands of movies in my lifetime and the first Marky Mark one was one of 3 movies ive ever fallen asleep to.
Tranformers 5 is massively underperforming. It's about damn time people stopped going.

I saw Train to Busan after it hit Netflix and it's excellent. The best thing I've watched this year, for sure.

As soon as shooting got underway, insiders say, it started to become clear that Kennedy’s stated intention of hiring directors who would put their own spin on Star Wars movies had led to a mismatch. Some insiders say that while the talent of Lord and Miller is undeniable, nothing in their background prepared them for a movie of this size and scope. These sources say they relied too heavily on the improvisational style that served them so well in live-action comedy and animation but does not work on a set with hundreds of crewmembers waiting for direction.
“You have to make decisions much earlier than what they’re used to,” one of these sources say. “I don’t know if it’s because there were two of them but they were not decisive.” Production department heads began to complain. While the pair appeared to listen when told of festering problems, this person says their approach did not change.
But the source close to Lord and Miller acknowledges they have always worked in an improvisational style and not just to add comedic elements. "They collaborate closely with their actors and give them creative freedom that, in their experience, brings out the actors' best performances," this person says. "Lawrence Kasdan would not allow this and demanded that every line was said word for word. To appease him and the studio, Lord and Miller would do several takes exactly as written and then shoot additional takes."
But Lord and Miller were not prepared to have Kasdan become a shadow director. With an impasse reached, Kennedy finally pulled the trigger. The next day, when the crew was told that Ron Howard would take over as director, sources say they broke into applause.
Boy, that doesn't sound good.
There's rooms for allowing actors to improvise their lines, but to do it for every scene? Yikes.

McGregor said he'd be available tomorrow if they ever wanna do an Obi-Wan movie that takes place before Episode 4. I don't know why that isn't on the docket already.

I don't really see that as an issue. Just more footage to work with in editing.
Shooting the same scene over and over to have the actors improvise and mess around and going against the script is extremely costly and time consuming.
Actors don't wanna stand around all the day shooting the same scene over and over and trying to get the take right while improvising most of the lines. That's silly. It's not Who's Line Is it Anyway.

By reilo Go To PostShooting the same scene over and over to have the actors improvise and mess around and going against the script is extremely costly and time consuming.I think there's also different expectations. The actors signed up for Star Wars, not 21 Jump Street. The films have always allowed for some improvisation, but by and large go by script. It's not like they have a cast full of actors known for their comedy chops, either. (Although I guess that's what Harrelson and Glover are best known for. My point still stands.)

Woody, Glover and Phoebe Weller-Bridge are all comedians through and through. Especially Phoebe.
But improv comedy is different than bringing a character to life on the dialog in front of them.

It's a waste of time and cost a shit load of money. Especially in fast paced blockbuster shoots that are supposed to minimize filming times so the CG artist and editors can work.

But hey, sounds like you know exactly what the actors want to do. I also don't see where it said it was on every scene. If you aren't interested in improvisation why would you agree to do a movie Lord and Miller?
Clearly Lawrence Kasdan doesn't know what he's doing by wishing the directors would shoot the dialog for a series of characters he's been in charge of for over 35 years.
Yes. There scuttlebutt clearly states that Lord and Miller wanted to practically have the actors improvise every scene. That's just... dumb. You can hire directors that have a talent to bring out the best in actors and provide some way to shoot scenes where actors can improvise for a more natural or even funnier dialog, but to be constantly shooting for that and going against the script? That's a production nightmare especially on a movie that at its core will be a an action movie with lots of CG like Apollo stated.
Like, that's a budgeting nightmare. It also sounds like it came across like they thought the dialog written by Kasdan wasn't good enough for them.

idk, I just doubt that it is every scene. I didn't take that sentence to mean every scene.
Could be wrong. If it is every scene, I could see that being a massive issue. But it sounds like Kasdan wants it word for word which he has probably earned.
Lord and Miller's strength is in improv. If you want to stick to the script hire someone like one of the other hacks they have.
Seems odd that they didn't come to an agreement on how things would be done prior to signing contracts.

By n8 dogg Go To Postdid they not scout how lord and miller work?
Probably thought they'd be so honored to work on Star Wars they would fall in line.
I watched a movie called Collide last night. It stars Nicholas Hoult, that lady from Rogue One, Anthony Hopkins, and Ben Kingsley. Apparently it was made in 2005. It starts well enough but once there's a dimly lit CGI semi truck crash it all gets weird as shit. Hannibal starts monologuing in a way that only makes sense if the character has onset senility. He shouts random words in a sentence. It's a stealing money for a paycheck kind of performance. The movie also seems intent on referencing John Travolta movies and name checking Smokey and The Bandit at least 10 times. If you like nice European cars, you can get your fix here. Beast is a wheelman and is sly at popping into the drivers seat and speeding away in them. I can see how this would drop 80% in its second weekend. It should not have been a wide release movie.
I saw someone on Facebook say the exact same thing. WTF, is this a meme?

The thing with blockbusters is time is money in a huge way. The grips can't move shit if you're doing the same scene twenty times and people keep fucking up the blocking. I was a key grip and gaffer for a few years. There is nothing worse than directors "trying shit out" when you're on a tight schedule. Lawrence Kasdan knows how to run shit and well he's Lawrence Kasdan. If he told me I was fucking up and wasting time I would fucking listen.
Bruh, we've read your post. We know you do

That might all be true, but do we know if they were running behind schedule or over budget? From the stories that have been released so far it doesn't sound like that was an issue.
And again, it all sort of depends on the expectations going in.
