He tried to give Trump a soundbite. "Sounds like a double standard to me". Conflating two issues (well trying to) that have nothing to do with each other.

He tried a pathetic angle where he kept asking and asking how Comey could close the case on Clinton's emails when she was part of the presidential race, and they're still investigating Russia's effect on that race. Even though McCain acknowledged that Russia wasn't even involved with the democrats. It made no sense and any moron could see that, but somebody had to give the right wing idiotsphere some kind of red meat. I don't get why he's doing that at this stage of his career, but maybe somebody promised him a library or something if he plays ball.

Could Trump be impeached as a result of too many scandals, or would it take one massive scandal that is worth impeachment alone?

By Hitch Go To PostCould Trump be impeached as a result of too many scandals, or would it take one massive scandal that is worth impeachment alone?Obstruction of justice should be big enough.
By Hitch Go To PostCould Trump be impeached as a result of too many scandals, or would it take one massive scandal that is worth impeachment alone? It will be when Republicans feel that they have their back against the wall and decide to save what remains of their political career.
If it was any other Republican president, probably never but Trump and his amazing dedication to causing clusterfucks? Sure do seem it's heading that way.

Paul Ryan is already trying to deflect the obstruction shit where he asks Comey to stop investigating Flynn as "he's just new to this".
These Senate and House intel hearings are basically political theater. They are important because they're driving public interest. Nothing that is found in this will cause the GOP to eat their own though. The real shit is Mueller. When he realeases what he finds, things may happen.
There's an election next year. If we take the house in 2018, you can also bet your ass impeachment talks heat up too.
By Hitch Go To PostCould Trump be impeached as a result of too many scandals, or would it take one massive scandal that is worth impeachment alone?Impeachment is really more of a political matter rather than a striclty legal one. So there would just have to be enough substance for 15-20 republican senators to flip on Trump if he's ever going to be impeached.
I like that Trump's lawyer says he will go hard on Comey for leaking the content of privileged conversations but the says Trump never asked for loyalty.
So what is it? Did he leaked the conversations or did he made them up?

His lawyer is also saying Comey leaked the info to the press BEFORE Trump tweeted about the tapes.
and then 4 days later

I have no idea how they are so bad at this. Trying to do a character assignation on Comey while simultaneously claiming "Trump isn't a liar" is also stupid. There is a crystal clear trail of documented Trump lies.
Like, Comey testified today that his memos were written in such a way that they weren't classified and that this was intentional. There also isn't a privilege when trump goes blabbing on twitter and TV.

Hello!
Yeah this was speculated about a week ago I want to say ???? Kinda adds context to the comments Comey made about Sessions today.
By s y Go To PostIs the UK election still going on? Im a bit confused looking at results and Twitter. Results are still coming in. May failed to hold a Conservative majority and will almost certainly be forced to resign.
This increases the prospects of a "soft" Brexit. Most importantly it creates a blueprint for a real leftist to have success in a western democracy.
It was a snap election that May wanted to take place to increase the conservative majority, it failed.
Not only did they not increase their majority but they lost it. Conservatives could have had majority for 3 more years (?) but wanted to squash the progressive minority further.

It doesnt make sense for her to resign now with Brexit negotiations starting in less than two weeks. The process of finding another new leader before they start would just add an unnecessary distraction, however her days are fucking numbered.
Theresa May reminds me of Dick Dastardly. She was in the lead but that wasn't enough for her so she set up a trap for her opponents and it blew up in her face.

Trump's lawyer is planning to file complaint(s) against Comey due to his "leaked" memos.
What a petty swine.
Edit: Oh my God...

His tweet contradicts his his lawyers statement. Comey testified the letters were written in a way that ensured they weren't classified and he has no executive privilege.

At this point I pretty much ignore Trump.
Sure I pay attention to actual political developments, but his tweets and personal behavior are utterly absurd.

He already has picked three former colleagues from his last job as a partner at the Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr law firm: Aaron Zebley, who also was Mueller’s FBI chief of staff; Jeannie Rhee, a former DOJ attorney; and Quarles, who got his start in Washington some four decades ago as an assistant Watergate prosecutor.http://www.politico.com/story/2017/06/06/mueller-russia-probe-trump-239163
But Mueller’s biggest hire to date was [Andrew] Weissmann, who is taking a leave from his current post leading the Justice Department’s criminal fraud section. The two men have a long history together at the FBI, where Weissmann served as both the bureau’s general counsel from 2011 to 2013 and as Mueller’s special counsel in 2005.
Weissmann’s prosecution record includes overseeing the investigations into more than 30 people while running the Enron Task Force, including CEOs Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling. And while working in the U.S. attorney’s office in the eastern district of New York, he tried more than 25 cases involving members of the Genovese, Colombo and Gambino crime families.
