The game officially comes out on Tuesday, it's already had its street date broken in a lot of places.
I was excited about this game ten years ago... But now it kind of looks like The Witcher 3 (which was just OK) but without the great card game and with horrible writing.
Review embargo ends on Monday at 10:00 AM EST!

but it cant be worse than 13.
ohohohohoho
By WWCHGT Go To PostI'm guessing 75 MC
I've been playing it for a week now and that sounds about right, if not slightly lower.
a few of the things that bother me are stuff you'd find in every JRPG so they might just sweep it under the rug
By Jay Whatever Go To PostThere's multiplayer? Competitive or cooperative?coop most likely but who knows
By DY_nasty Go To Postcoop most likely but who knowsThat's not coming out till like mid next year. If at all.
By WWCHGT Go To PostThat's not coming out till like mid next year. If at all.I can wait.
By Phoenix RISING Go To PostEew multiplayer. Why?I can't think of a game where co-op lessened my enjoyment of it.
By Kibner Go To PostI can't think of a game where co-op lessened my enjoyment of it.Agreed. Coop makes the worst games tolerable.
I dunno. FF doesn't stand out like it did around the time of FF7. But game quality overall has gone up.
But there's never been a bad FF.

Been a while since I've really looked at video game reviews.
Is it still the case that 7/10 is the basement for any non-blatantly awful game?

I don't know if this helps answer your question, but The Division and Watch Dogs both got 80 on average.
By jjasper Go To PostI have read a few reviews. It seems….good?
You often can't tell from initial reviews...games like FF XIII & Dragon Age: Inquisition launched with high metacritics, but wound up being disliked by a large segment of gamers. But there's been enough good news coming out that I'm back on the boat again with this game.

Just not the games people wanted them to be.

By domino Go To Postscrubbed FF13 from memory huh? very very poor game.No. I played it all the way through. And the expansion.
It was a good game. All time great? no. But it was a good game.
Reading some of these FFXV reviews, and this is a surprising criticism to read considering reviewers love wRPGs like Elder Scrolls that suffer from the exact same:
The same reviewer loved Skyrim and its world exploration though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Although wtf at this:
If you can tolerate a baffling amount of time where nothing but travel happens, Final Fantasy XV is a good game that upends series traditions and stands as a uniquely satisfying adventure.
The world isn’t wasted, however. The abundance of side missions get you where you need to go, and most are enjoyable. Yes, a good number are of the "fetch" variety, but Square Enix does a nice job of making them worth your time. I always felt like I was finding something new, unlocking new abilities, or stumbling upon a secret that had been buried for centuries. The game is designed with side questing and hunting in mind, and it can be a blast if the player embraces these elements. Some tasks even take you into excellently-designed dungeons, complete with over-the-top boss battles.

Although wtf at this:
The Regalia eventually transforms into a more useful flying vehicle, but not until after the game is completed – another strange decision.
The fact that almost all the reviews go out of their way to mention how great the dungeon design is really encouraging considering 13 didn't have a single one

Guess it helps to have friends. I still have not finished L4D2, and have not even bothered to install either of the Borderlands games.
By reilo Go To PostReviews are trickling in.Kept telling people they getting the best scores money can buy
Gamespot gave it an 8/10
Game Informer 8.5/10
Destructoid 9/10
IGN 8.2/10
Was going to get a PS4 Pro for this but hearing some bad things about the quality of the checkerboard mode...going to hold off on that purchase.
Are the characters annoying, unlikable, or react in an unbelievable manner? Is the combat and exploration engaging? First impressions on music?
By Kibner Go To PostAre the characters annoying, unlikable, or react in an unbelievable manner? Is the combat and exploration engaging? First impressions on music?Would love answers to these. Reviews have touched on all those areas specifically, but would love user impressions.
So far characters seem like standard FF characters. Not really annoying to me but with some pretty bad dialog at times. Combat seems better than I expected. It doesn't seem like it has a lot of depth to it from what I can tell but I don't hate it. It kind of has a controlled chaos aspect to it. Bunch of shit going on but you really have only a few things you are doing. Exploring is good. I haven't done a ton of it but seems like something you could get lost in. Music is excellent.
Again I am only a few hours in so I don't really have the ability to give super detailed impressions but first impression is that it is pretty good

The impressions still help. :)
I read some other user impressions of the game and it seems like an above average open world RPG. Kind of interested how opinions are a week or two from now.

Apparently there's some really good post-endgame content (I haven't read about it or know what it is, just what others told me), which is kinda new to FF.

This fucking sold me on the game.
The video is playing just fine?
The president of Square Enix is a boss in the game for the Mystery Disc but I'm not sure they're releasing that anytime soon. It was for a TV broadcast, I hope it does tho I want to fight him and that would cement my purchase.
