By GQman2121 Go To PostAtlanta really is a breath of fresh air. Hope it's been meeting expectations and is picked up for another season. It can't cost very much to produce.
its first episode broke records and season 2 has already been confirmed.
well deserved. best show on TV for me.
By reilo Go To PostYou're The Worst might be the best show on TV.Will download. thanks
I think I'm done with Westworld for now. What happens in the park doesn't interest me and doesn't make sense. Furthermore, they seem to be able to make up or alter the rules of the world as they see fit to control their narrative. I think that's stupid lazy writing to fallback on week after week.
Probably check it out again once all the episodes have aired.

By reilo Go To PostYou're The Worst might be the best show on TV.Without a doubt. I'm still in awe for what they've pulled on the second half of the second season and how they are carrying it on the third.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostWithout a doubt. I'm still in awe for what they've pulled on the second half of the second season and how they are carrying it on the third. They're handling such difficult topics in supremely refreshing and raw ways. They aren't sugar-coating the subjects but still add a hilarious layer of absurdity through the lens of "look how shitty people still are even when they know full well someone close to them is going through the toughest of times". It's borderline surreal when they discuss these topics yet it still feels incredible grounded.

It's a little gem that deserves a bigger audience than it's getting right now.
Don't sleep on Pam Aldon and Louis CK's FX show Better Things either. Very solid thus far. FX really does deserve high marks for originality.

FX has been great at doing comedy since "It's always sunny" and I would not be surprised to find out their are execs at that network that were connected to FOX's comedy slate back in the 90's when they had shows like Married with Children and the Simpsons pushing the boundaries.
By Fenderputty Go To PostAnyone else watching westworld on HBO. What a fuckin trip. I'm hookedthis is the first time in a long time that I feel like a show is made with ME in mind :lol
the cast is so on point.
First two episodes of Chance are up on Hulu and it's really good so far.
Might need to start an account soon..
By Fenderputty Go To PostAnyone else watching westworld on HBO. What a fuckin trip. I'm hookedIt's fantastic.
So many things they can do and directions they can take, looking forward to see where the directors decide to go.
As a fan of Westerns, I totally dig it.
What else besides Westworld would people recommend? I'm catching up on Netflix/Amazon shows now but I normally don't use the HBO app until GoT and Veep, I keep hearing good things about Westworld so I'll watch it next.
Finished up Narcos and Stranger Things finally and started watching The Man in the High Castle.

total shite
a dreary obvious crime drama that post wire/cartel land/narco cultura/gomorrah (book/show)/drug lord:shorty/zerozerozero has the feel of a posturing GCSE essay that comes to the decade late conclusion that maybe the drug war ain't all that black and white (that it is when the tedious voice over isn't telling you this)
this is interspliced with a half baked documentary for some reason that completely dampens any dramatic tension or investment in the wafer thin supporting cast (javier pena and escobar excluded). the bulldog cartel boss is a real nadir, his lines seems to be have been ctrl+v'd straight out of the 'crime drama cliched characters 101' textbook.
lest we not forget the porn parody version of ryan gosling parading himself as a main character. how one can expect to care about a character so wet, so mentally deserted , who appears shocked to be even smoking a cigarette - is beyond me. orlando bloom in kingdom of heaven levels of flaccid. i get he's a cipher for the audience, his nickname is fresh meat (geddit) but christ he is so fucking dull.
the voice over is the real killer for me. no idea why the decision was made TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING SO THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK CAN FOLLOW WHAT'S GOING ON. 'escobar had no idea the photo would come back to haunt him' (close up of swastika) 'carlos thingy cunty wasn't a very nice chap' etc etc. show me program, stop telling me.
at best it's a decent alternative to wikipedia-ing escobar.
wagner moura is cracking in it mind.
if you do like it fair play, maybe i'm missing summat. dunno. gonna finish national treasure instead - that is a fuckin bit of telly.

The narration was dumb as hell and I really didn't understand why it was included. It's not like the show was hard to follow or needed explaining. An example that comes to mind is when the guerillas got brought in, the narration talks about how pablo's past was about to come back and bite him in the ass and then the next scene talks about the same shit.

GUYS, get on Black Mirror! The absolute best anthology series out there.

By DY_nasty Go To PostI was watching them out of order apparently. Going back s1 for the tru experience nowah well yeah you're in for a treat then. i enjoyed the random eps i caught here and there. but after watching it from the start i honestly think it's one of the best written shows on TV right now.
the show also gets uncomfortably real for a kids show. Pearl is legit crazy.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostAnyone else watching The Exorcist? I've been positively surprised by it.This guy. I too was positively surprised, until I wasn't. I know that's not what the og The Exorcist is about, however given the start I was really hoping for more subtlety and ambiguity on the topic of possession, demons, religion and all that jazz. Instead by episode 3 or 4 there are demons everywhere and nothing's really left to the imagination. I think a Hannibal-esque approach would've suited the show much better. Of course, this being a Fox production, I should've known better. Nonetheless, it's been really solid so far. Great casting on the actor who plays the older priest.
Why do i still watch TWD
People were saying it was the best episode of the series... I can't watch 7 for a min but sounds hype..

Surprised they went as far as they did tbh. Only thing comparable to me on a Tv show was the death of a certain character in Game of thrones.

Yes. Such an amazing show. That last scene with Ford and Theresa sitting at the dinner table Theresa sat at when she was a child. Really puts into perspective how in tune Ford is with everything. Makes me feel like Bernard's encouragement of Dolores isn't all that secret.

Ohh yeah. Someone hit a switch somewhere. Curious how involved each player is. You think it was Arnold's voice telling Dolores to kill when she shot that guy?
Hard to say given we know nothing about Arnold besides him being a co-founder and The Man In Black being obsessed with him.
i thought the switch was that line
something something violent ends

People were so into comparing him to Hammond from Jurassic Park and that's not the case. Ford definitely isn't affable like Hammond. He has a mean streak and has a dark side.
By Trey Go To PostBlack Mirror S3 is really good.
I watched the first two. I'm not awe struck by the social commentary of Nosedive. The acting is on point. You hate everyone and how dependent they are on their phones and rating people. Other than things literally Nosediving (what a shock!) for Bryce, what's supposed to be my takeaway./
Though I love Dan Trachtenberg or Totally Rad Show fame, Playtest got way too into the layers upon layers that it created to have much impact in the very end. The final reveal just made me laugh that it's the final thing we're left on.
I don't have the desire to watch the rest of them or season 1/2 either.
By RATHasReturned Go To PostI don't have the desire to watch the rest of them or season 1/2 either.episode 3 and 4 are one of the absolute best in the whole series though :lol you picked the wrong time to jump off!
