I got an absolutely ridiculous Gauss rifle off one of Desmonda's rancid fetch quests. Apparently she gives out random terrible items as rewards except for this one

would love to make a melee character sometime. The game has badass melee weapons and mods
I have a confession. I havent touched the wasteland since the bloodborne dlc came out.

It's the coolest thing ever, it almost looks like something outta Final Fantasy I have a dozen of +5 melee damage mags too, unfortunately.

By blackace Go To Postwould love to make a melee character sometime. The game has badass melee weapons and modsThis is actually my first time going for a melee character in a fallout game (its an admittedly terrible build tho)
I picked up a bat that has some ridiculous stat where all actions cost 50% less in VATS some I'm big papi on these fenway streets
kinda weird how i have strength and charisma as my highest stats tho - i sweet talk my way to the boss, plant my feet, and swing the fukkin wood like its the plan all along lol. gave my first bae cait this poisoner's machete to get that crazy tank/aggro going on and then i come in late... there's no mob i can't kill
sentries tho ;_;
Finished it.
Got the platin trophy, so I finished it with all fractions as well.
Sadly the mainquest gets worse as time goes on and you reach a certain point.
The variety of quality within the different fractions also stands out, the Brotherhood quest are pretty good, compared to the others....
Which is a big shame, as the game certainly has some great quests.
Both NV and Fallout 3 have a better mainstory and questline.
In general I'm pretty happy with the game and it was alot of fun.
Explorations was spot on and I'm a sucker for all those little stories, especially those on the terminals from employees of a company being fed up with their boss or other stuff.
The world they build was really great, I just love the style and the general theme of the game.
Allthough they might have overdone it a bit. I was close to 200 spots on the map and there were still blank areas that I should have explored.
I just couldn't bother and might do it once the DLC is there, it was just so much stuff to do.
Oh and fuck me, Bethesda finally adressed the awful shooting from F3/NV. The guns all got a great feeling and I like how tweaking them, influences them.
Customisation was freaking great. All those different weapons, armors and power armors and how they actually affected them.
The settling idea was neat, and made fun for quite some time, but it just get's dull and repetetive later on.
They really need to spice things up and get some other ideas in.
Time for the negative points.
I didn't like the majority of the mainquest, it starts way too fast and barely builds any connection with the characters.
It's getting better and the involved characters are also getting better luckily, but once you reach a certain point it's pretty lifeless.
They killed the big momentum with their shitty twist and once again they FAIL to build any type of connection towards characters and fractions.
I just didn't care for most of those characters, their ideas and what goes on.
Luckily the sidequests, some fraction quests and the companions are keeping up your mood in terms of "lore".
I already mentioned the quality within the fractions quests and characters is also varying WAY too much.
Wasn't the smartest idea to use so many fractions at once, allthough I can see what idea they had in mind. It just didn't work out well enough.
Still Bethesdas biggest problem to create a decent main story.
I guess I won't have to mention the technical flaws the game has.
Everyone who get's closer to the end and decides for a fraction, prepare for a slide show once the other fraction quests are cancelled.
Facial animation is a joke and some general things like random NPCs popping into a dialogue you're having with someone else and being louder than the person you speak to.
It also happened quite often that a random NPC ran into my quest NPC who just dropped the entire dialogue.....
That's just bad and shouldn't happen, same goes for the radio that should automatically get silent once you have a dialogue.
Another point on my negative list is, how easy the game is.
Not just the difficulty you can choose, but legendary enemies dropping way too much stuff and weapons being far too strong.
The number of power armors ist also quite worrying, and I didn't even use them with a few exceptions.
Maybe they shouldn't reward your settlement building with EXP, or EXP for the creation process in general.
In general the game just lacks balance on alot of different things.
Still, I really enjoyed the game.
Fans will be sucked in and people who don't enjoy Bethesda games or Fallout should stay away.
Even with all those flaws, my favorite open world title this year, after Witcher 3 obviously.
MGS and Batman don't get anywhere near those two.

Story spoiler for Penny's eyes only
I actually liked the twist! It shined a sorta unique moral dilemma on the story. (I assume you're talking about Father)
having said that I did shoot him in the face afterwards aggroing the whole fucking base on me loool. Probably should've waited for my pipboy upgrade
So the brotherhood have the best quests then, ah, shame. So, will the point of no return be obvious enough later on? I wanna make a separate save to experience all three factions too!

The twist itself isn't the problem, but they fail to build up anything with it.
They just set it up, here is your son, he looks like he is 70 years old and acts like "Mother do this for me, mother do that for me".
Yeah there is one point where they tell you, if you follow through, that fraction x is hostile towards you and every quest from them will get cancelled.
While I'm add it, it sucks that alot of the final quests, regardless of the fraction are basically the same with some changes here and there.
Oh and I forgot to roast the dialogue system, add that on top of the NPCs who already ruin your dialogues every once in a while.
In addition to the problems I described, the new system just sucks.
They wanted to implement something that goes of easier and controls better, the opposite happened.
speaking of, I actually ran into a pretty amusing bug the other day, where one of my companions delayed my quest because he was hell-bent on taking down a whole Brotherhood gunship singlehandedly
'DUDE let's move'. 'Mothafucka let it go, small fish etc'. NOPE he was having none of it
had to go sleep it off in one of the near houses. Tbf to him he did take it down eventually with his budget pistol

I am enjoying the game. Just made lvl 40, and just interacted with first major huRdle of the main story quest. Essentially it's fairly smooth sailing. But fuck Sentry Bots. I'd rather deal with Deathclaws.

Just had the most ridiculous glitch or easter egg omg
Was fighting for my life vs deathclaw and alpha deathclaw with nothing but a fucking bat like a baus
somehow killed the jr on collateral, but when i used my critical on the alpha it literally launched him into the sky. THE SKY. then he died on reentry due to fall damage

Came across a legendary Gutsy but before I could shoot he went flyin off lasers blasting. As I followed I saw the explosion which meant he bit it. Was like, fuck, what was he fighting! Get around the corner there are two Deathclaws, one is limping along in front of me, the other stumbling away down the hill. Both have a small bit of health left. Gun down them both, loot everything and go on my way.
So I've just got to diamond city, very nice indeed.
I'm lvl 10, honestly still enjoying the hell out of this game.
Am I the only one who feels like mad max in this game?

I know but penny mentioned some dumb twist in his synopsis so thought something like that would fit the bill.
Like maybe Nick died and then they replaced me with Synth version of me, because I saw two guys that looked the same fighting, one was the synth on was real so I actually thought that was a hint lol.
Thanks for the confirmation though.
Paternity leave cannot come soon enough as I need to jump back on Bloodbourne asap.

I hope I'm near the main quest ending
Because this game can be so shit at times
Performance in some areas is terrible, really the worst game I've seen on PS4 so far.
The story is SO dumb, I tried giving the right answers to let the story progress as it should and twice I had to reload because NPCs were like "oh ok you disagree we're forever enemies let me shoot you in the face and face my race forever"
Sometimes you just ask "wait what am I supposed to do?" and the NPC goes "ok we have to bomb this city now go" and you just accepted the mission. That's not how it should work.
Also it's written and acted so badly, there's no emotion, nowhere, you should be traveling to find your long lost son and nobody gives a shit, and neither does your avatar.
Also Bethesda fucked up so much with their idea of how my son should look like, ffs.
Solid 6/10 for now, thank god my brother bought the Bloodborne DLC so I can leave behind this junkyard.

Started running into bosses and Raiders in power armour for the last 5 hours or so, so now carry a missile launcher around with me. Normally try and keep the heavy weapons at home, but without wearing power armour you die easily against certain enemies, even on normal. Fucking raiders firing missiles at you in particular.
