By reilo Go To PostSo this game has a 89 Metacritic rating but people that are playing it seemingly don't have many nice things to say?most "profesional" reviewers always give ultra hyped, AAA titles like this great scores. Look at how many mainstream outlets have even touched on the PC controversy, even.
By GQman2121 Go To PostCD Projekt putting Bats to shame with their packaging. It's like two different companies published these games.
Here's a code for the Waynetech DLC on PS4 if anyone wants it: HMGR-CANR-MTM9
Also, I was able to download the PS4 DLC through the app while I was on the train home. But now that I have the game in my system, this 3.6gb patch is going to take about an hour to download. Currently moving at 1 mbps.
Thanks, I nabbed the code.
By reilo Go To PostSo this game has a 89 Metacritic rating but people that are playing it seemingly don't have many nice things to say?I normally don't read or acknowledge reviews but I came across a Jim Sterling one, and we pretty much share the same complaints and think the game did the same things right.

I think the two sides differ on those of us that don't like it expected a Batman game, those who like it are just happy to get a new Twisted Metal.
Wow so the PC version has been delisted until they fix that shit. Thank you Steam Refunds for making this possible.

Welcome to AAA game reviews
Most people are probably reviewing it on console anyways, which seems to be fine
Game has been pulled from Steam. What a colossal embarrassment. I won't be pre-ordering anything outside of sports games.
By Kidjr Go To PostSo I shouldnt be buying this game? (I've never played any of the others)it's a great game. And this is coming from someone who only liked Asylum.
Too many puzzles involve using the batmobile though. Some of them were really quite creative and cool, others not so much and felt a bit forced. I dont mind using the batmobile AT ALL because its so smooth and controls brilliantly but it does get quite stale and repetitive after using it and fighting the same tanks in every single mission..
The game does WAY too many things right, and if you're a fan of batman it goes without saying that you must pick this up.

You've guided me well thus far, (even though I dont think the witcher is really to my taste) Ill purchase this evening.

Got sucked into the Riddler stuff hard last night. That's the way I don't mind being forced to use the batmobile. The puzzles are a nice challenge and break up the action.
Those endless spawning fucking tanks though ruin large sections of the street. I can't wrap my head around them.
Also, putting ?'s on the map that you're ill equipped to obtain is some bullshit. Particularly when they're hidden behind obstacles involving gear that you had available to you in the previous game.
Removing shit just to give it back is the ultimate form of development fuckery. You just know those combat rooms are returning as DLC. What a great deal that seasons pass is. They'll give you bits of the game they've removed and sell it off as a bonus.

yeah the Riddler stuff is mad fun, I like switching between characters and solving puzzles
and the whole tag-team and environmental combos is really well done

What do you think the game does right? because outside of improved combat, Batman & friend combat sequences and Scarecrow there's nothing this game gets right IMO. Maybe the PC port being a complete clusterfuck and of course the Joker being involved, and being arguably more important than the two guys the game is named after made me a little too harsh on the game.

Sounds like almost every big game this gen.
By Omega Go To PostYou're like the only person I've seen who likes the Batmobile controls.yeah I've noticed :o
you played on PC? I can see how that can ruin your enjoyment of the game tbh
The open world doesn't feel as empty and lifeless as Arkham City for starters. I like how you can jump from mission to mission seamlessly, and how the Riddler was calling me out despite me doing another mission completely. And the random missions are also quite cool! (the bat scared the shit outta me)
I also liked what you included in your spoilertags, despite me not wanting it to be in this game to begin with. But it presented some really genuine funny moments, and the constant banter and surprises kept things fresh and exciting as opposed to just going from place to place and beating people up!
at first I was like "WHAT? NO! NOT AGAIN...0/10...FACK OFF......oh? ok I can live with that" :p
By Facism Go To Postso i was reading the game pulled challenge rooms?Really? Can someone confirm this?
What a fucking disgrace of a game.
If so that really sucks. That was one of my favorite parts of the other Arkham games.
Yes, in that they're no longer a separate mode.
No, because there are 24 (12 each) combat and predator AR missions woven into the story mode.
There's also 15 races, and 30, I shit you not, 30 motherfucking additional Batmobile combat challenges for a grand total of 78 (9 are the Scarecrow PS4 races).

I have an i7-4790K, Samsung 850 Pro SSD, a GTX 970, 16GB RAM, and issues with Batman. It's pretty annoying. It's not nearly as bad for me as most people, and it's totally playable. It's definitely not acceptable, but I am enjoying the game as it is right now.
By GQman2121 Go To PostYes, in that they're no longer a separate mode. Can they be replayed separately later with different characters?

not all doom and gloom, then! Cheers for the clarification
you have to solve 241 riddles scattered across the map to fight The Riddler
OH YES I'm totally going to do that and not settle for watching it on youtube instead...
-_-

man I was ignoring those generic missions I thought they led to fuck all!
should I do the others too? The save firefighters one and the fucking mines shit
By Yurt Go To PostoffffFrom what I've seen every single mission so far lets you at least beat up one of the villains a bit.

I did Two-Face and Penguin. I did the guy who was going around killing people and sticking them in walls looking like Jesus.
So after something happens in the game, Deathstroke takes over those Occupy Gotham side-quests and I assume you get to whoop his ass in the final mission.
Just like I assume you get to beat up Firefly some more after every time you catch up to him.
Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm doing everything and mixing it up as I go along. I just hit a major turning point for the main Scarecrow path, but I continue jumping around from Riddler stuff, street bombs and the AR challenges too.
Gonna watch Batman: Gotham Knight then play the shit out of this tonight
Go back to TW3 when its finished, at which point I'll be excited for it again
edit: just remembered the boys Coutinho and Firmino will be playing as well

final thoughts on the game: Good fun, every mission sucks and is repetitive except for the main mission and The Riddler stuff. You spend 60% of the game if not more in tank mode and every villain except for main two was pointless and tacked on
Asylum is way better. But it's still a great Batman game

Once you obtain the ability to hack the drones, those encounters become much more tolerable. That doesn't excuse their overuse and filler treatment status for the side missions, but it makes completing them much, much easier.
I beat the movie studio section last night and really enjoyed how that played out in regards to the story. I do think the games climax is now going to be a disappointment though.

They feel the need to add so many missions and most end up being filler and feel padded out. Props to TW3 on being the first open world game to nail that shit down.

they should have just spent more time on the main mission instead and scrapped the rest really. With cameos of the other villians here and there just like Harely for example, it was brief yet didnt feel like filler
By King Kunta Go To PostDeathstroke boss fight is shit.seriously? lmao i heard he was in the game and thought i should go back and do side missions
It's a fucking tank.
Fuck this.
because that's exactly what the game lacks. tank fights
By Omega Go To Postseriously? lmao i heard he was in the game and thought i should go back and do side missionsPretty disappointing given the amount of work. All you get is a cutscene of Batman whooping him and then you drive him to GCPD. Thankfully you get enough missions where you beat militia up that you don't feel annoyed at all the driving sections.

Batgirl DLC can't come out soon enough.
Anyway, you only get the actual ending after activating the Knightfall protocol and even then you need to finish it 100% to get the full ending.

This game is fucking incredible.
About 2 hours in. Best graphics ever. Best rain effects ever.
Batmobile? Fucking awesome. The destruction left behind when I tear through Gotham is ridiculous. Upgraded the weapons and I'm beasting with the tank mobile.
The combat is hnnnnnnnnng. The animations and options are ridiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiks.
I mean, Jesus.
I'm the fucking batman.

City > Asylum > Knight
Still have Asylum first on my list, but I did appreciate the cameos and the supporting cast in City more. City also added a bunch of gameplay tweaks that made the combat better and more varied.
Just finished yet another tank battle section, this time against a special tank with multiple weak spots that you have to breakdown. By far the stupidest one yet.
Currently sitting at 55% complete overall (79% for the main story arch) and even with its technical issues, I enjoyed Origins more than I'm enjoying Knight at this point.
