Plus you get to be the the goddam batman

So we all know there's a ton of pre-order content at launch, as well as timed platform exclusive stuff.
First off, all pre-ordered copies of the game at retail or digital receive the Harley Quinn DLC which includes 4 combat arenas and 4 story missions that apparently take place before the events of the main game.
So unlike Arkham City's four Catwoman pre-order DLC missions, which were woven into the core Batman narrative, these Harley missions seem to stand on their own and set up her (and Ivy?) role in Knight.
Trailer HERE
Platform Exclusives
Sony has timed exclusivity on the Scarecrow Nightmare Missions, Justice League 3000 Batman skin and Classic TV Series Batman and Batmobile skins. These will all be available for purchase or through the season pass this fall.
PC buyers receive the Gotham's Future Pack which includes The Dark Knight Returns and Batman Beyond skins.
Additionally there's the Gotham Knight Skin that is available to everyone with a WB Play account.
You can register for a free account here.
Retail Exclusive DLC:
Red Hood DLC combat arenas and missions available at Gamestop and GAME in the US and UK respectively.
Trailer Here
Prototype Batmobile available at Wal-Mart and is exclusive to the US and has mysterious "unique abilities".
First Appearance Skin available through Amazon US only as is the Comic Bundle of the game which includes the skin and a comic book that inspired the series.
Waynetech Booster Pack available through Best Buy (US/CA) and Tesco (UK)
Best Buy is offering $10 worth of Reward Zone points if you pre-order before release. Additionally, when combined with their Gamer's Club Unlocked program the game is $48, so they're offering the best deal on the console version price wise which might make up for their weak pre-order bonus that you end up earning by playing the game anyway.
All of the exclusive retailer DLC mentioned above will be coming to the $40 Season Pass at some point this fall.
On PC you can purchase any version of the game from Green Man Gaming at 40% off with promo code: 40OFFB-ATAKVC-GMGRB9
The code also works on the Season Pass making it $24.
First off, all pre-ordered copies of the game at retail or digital receive the Harley Quinn DLC which includes 4 combat arenas and 4 story missions that apparently take place before the events of the main game.
For the first time in the Arkham series take on the role of Joker’s psychotic side-kick Harley Quinn and wreak havoc inside the Blüdhaven Police Department. With this exclusive Story Pack experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy. Delve deep into Harley’s demented nature and utilize her devastating baseball bat to smash, crash and bash your way to a friend very much in need.

Yeah, as I was reading up on all of this it was pretty crazy how fragmented everything is. I tried my best to make it easy to ingest here.
I didn't even bother listing the season pass or limited addition skins. There's about six more total.

By Yurt Go To PostGQ this genuinely turned me off the game..
yup it's why i'm not buying it. I was hype as fuck, too.
By KingGondo Go To PostLoved Asylum and City, I'm all over this.God damn right.
Origins gets too much shit anyway. Decent game.
By rvy Go To PostGod damn right.Still haven't played it. Got it for free on PS+ one month and still haven't gotten around to it.

By Alpende Go To PostSuch a shame stuff like DLC-pre order bonuses exist. Fuck that shit, give me the full game.Outside of the Red Hood mission (key word: MISSION), none of it actually seems substantial.
The Red Hood DLC is about 300mb smaller than the Harley stuff. So who knows.
This is from the XBO pre-load taken by someone who bought the DIGITAL ONLY premium edition of the game which comes with the season pass.
Also worth noting is that the season pass on its own is currently unavailable for pre-order on the Xbox market. It is available on PSN and Steam. It should should up on the market by the time the game is unlocked.
You'll notice right away that all of the retail DLC is available for pre-loading via the premium edition. This was not known as of a few days ago.
In fact, their community manager reiterated that....
All,
Sorry it took a bit to chime in here officially, but we wanted to get the details clear for our fans.
Fist, big thanks to @GhostMotleyX for all of the great work.
Second, as I know many people have been asking about the details and content of Season Pass and if or when people will get the content. I hope the following makes things clear:
Throughout the 6 months of additional Batman: Arkham Knight content, Premium and Season Pass owners will also receive the in-game content that is offered through various retail pre-order incentives. This includes the Harley Quinn and Red Hood Story Packs, and the Prototype Batmobile. For those who did not receive the content with their game, these items will become available when their respective exclusivity windows expire in August/September.
The tl;dr version of this is: Premium Edition & Season Pass owners will receive all retail exclusive DLC after their respective early access periods expire.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion, please let me know if I can help answer anything else on the subject.
Thanks,
Yorick
So......what the fuck? Conflicting info much?
Is this a mistake or is all the content going to be available on Tuesday if you purchase the season pass? Or is it going to be an additional perk for the digital premium edition?
As far as I can tell no site is asking these questions. But since the game isn't out yet, this person couldn't possibly have pre-ordered at every outlet and received the codes for the DLC already. That's just not possible.
Also, the new news is that since the limited addition Batmobile sku is now cancelled.....
Dear Batman: Arkham Fans,
We regret to inform you that we are not able to release the Batmobile Collector's Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of this extremely limited run of product.
We are deeply apologetic for this unfortunate outcome. If you did pre-order the Batmobile Collector's Edition, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the product and you will receive a full refund of your deposit or it can be rolled over to another Batman: Arkham Knight edition or another product of your choice.
We will be providing everyone who purchases Batman: Arkham Knight with the New 52 skin pack, including Batman, Robin and Nightwing, free of charge.
Source
So now everyone who buys the game--no matter which edition--is going to receive the 3 New 52 skins.
They've released a larger version of the image of Batman used in the pre-order marketing materials already.
Knight Wing and Robin are pictured above. Here's the larger view.
On top of all this info, the new-new news confirmed today is that there's a 3.5gb day one patch. Yay!
Patch notes:
Improved Performance
Stability Fixes
New feature: Rival Points
New feature: Original Batsuit skin available to select
Support for “A Matter Of Family” additional content <--This is the Batgirl DLC that is apart of the season pass
General gameplay, graphical, audio, UI, and localization fixes
So yeah, complete and utter cluster fuck of a release thus far and the game isn't even out yet.

The console versions appear to use some terrible FXAA + Chromatic Abberation that results in a soft meh IQ. And that's at a target of 30fps. I'd take a wild guess that the game will dip into the 20s at some point.
98% of games are made with consoles in mind.
Playing at 2560x1440 with max settings + NVIDIA Gameworks + 60fps is not easy...

i really doubt DLC will be good for this game though. i never felt like the previous games had DLC worth playing
hopefully they surprise me and the content is amazing

yeah
we'll see. saving $35 was too much to pass on for me
AMD Crossfire support is currently disabled for Batman™: Arkham Knight while AMD works closely with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to resolve the issue. An update for this issue will be released as soon as it is available

PC port is a pile of shit whether you're team green or red. Only people in the world that might be able to even get a consistent 30fps are the Smokeys.
Added bonus - someone on GAF posted that everyone complaining is a little bitch basically. Go to his profile and his XBL GT is Ryan Moore.
way too much of a coincidence.

Played for 1.5hr before I got my first crash. Most of the time the game doesn't use 99% of my GPU. Maxed out at 2560x1440 w/ Gameworks I was easily over 60fps as long as I wasn't driving around in the Batmobile. FPS bounced all over the place in that.
Game also doesn't look very good. Lots of shimmering and shitty CA everywhere.
I have SLI disabled so I running on one Titan X.

Is this like a common thing with PC games, like do all your games crash? (I'm not even taking a dig or even trying to start a debate, I really want to have my expectations in check should I ever decide to go down the PC gaming route)
I've never had crashing problems except with Witcher 3 (but only when I played in borderless window, and for some reason my game always defaulted to that)
For me AK was only crashing when I tried to turn off motion blur in the files because fuck motion blur, but Rocksteady decided I don't get this option.
The occasional crash happens here and there but it's nowhere near commonplace and if it is, it's something on your end. For the most part if you're not tinkering with the game files you'll be fine, and even if you do, you'll most likely still be fine unless you massively screw up.

CD Projekt putting Bats to shame with their packaging. It's like two different companies published these games.
Here's a code for the Waynetech DLC on PS4 if anyone wants it: HMGR-CANR-MTM9
Also, I was able to download the PS4 DLC through the app while I was on the train home. But now that I have the game in my system, this 3.6gb patch is going to take about an hour to download. Currently moving at 1 mbps.

The Harley DLC is no joke fifteen minutes worth of content. It's like four rooms full of areas to clear and then a weak boss battle if you can even call it that.

This rooftop batmobile shit is madness. Why is this in the game? It's horrible.
The optional driving around the city is fine. In fact, it's quite well done. But these missions where the car is thrown in for the sake of it are awful. I'm on my third one already.
I also don't appreciate that they've removed abilities from the previous games only to charge you for them in their little skill tree. What kind of sense does that even make? I'm the Batman and I've forgotten how to do moves? They didn't do this with Arkham City.
It is pretty but I'm not impressed thus far.

No. It just depends on the game and the drivers you're running.
40 hours into Witcher 3 and no crashes at all.
this game is just bad and being the worst port of all time just adds to it. The only thing that kept me playing to the end was wanting to know who Arkham Knight was, which based on the game, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason they added him. If there wasn't that sense of curiosity I don't think anyone would finish this game.
