By FootFungus Go To PostIf you're over the age of 15 and still like Star wars, you should get your head checked.
If you are out of elementary school and you are telling people what is acceptable to like, you should get a life.

It's literally media just being churned out by the Mouse factory, it's fan fic with a hollywood budget.

And enough people enjoy that type of shit that it gets made. Sometimes that is all people want. If they enjoy it then so what? People were also discussing a new TV series that from what I know is very different from the rest of the universe. And you just shat on it without having even seen it.
That reminds me, I should watch it tonight. Been too engrossed building roads.

Designating it as 'for teenagers' is an easier way of saying that it's entertainment designed to amuse the young and infantilize the old - precisely what Star Wars is. It's simple, base, corporately-slick distraction that just happens to coincide with an era of simple, base, corporately-slick politics.

I was just bantering around initially, I've seen all the first two trilogies and even gave The Last Jedi a watch in the theaters. I dont care if people enjoy what they want. I still genuinely enjoy many shows made "for kids" (luckly I have an excuse and just say I'm watching them with my boys), but I'd still hold up my critique that a lot of this just feels like a funnel of content that is meant to just keep you attention.
I personally just dont care to have an ever expanding universe where EVERYTHING has to be explored, more content doesn not equal richer world. Hell even the OG SW was meant to feel like a slice out of a serialized show.
Game series often get critiqued for being pumped out yearly, or in this case over saturated, don't see why the same can't apply to movies/shows.
