He wanted to play. Maybe they shouldn’t have let him but it’s up to the player at the end of the day

Steph and the rest of the team you better answer for this.
You brother died on the court for you to have a chance at winning.
You better fucking go off and win Game 6 and Game 7 or else you are betraying him. KD sacrificed for this and you better answer.

It ain’t like KD isn’t gonna get his money whether it’s from GS or anyone else
no it's not lol
I'm sure they applied some pressure, but when is there NOT pressure on the man? He's fucked whatever he does, if he was healthy and dropped 40 and GS lost you would've had fools saying "See? He was really healthy and intentionally was sitting out".
At the end of the day unless the medical staff really lied to him, the decision was his to make once he was cleared. And you're nuts if you think people wouldn't say anything if he chose not to play.

SOMEBODY had to clear him. That somebody is management so they hold this. Meyers "tears" doesn't get the org out of it.
They'll offer him the same max deal he would have been offered if he opts out. This isn't your penny pinching organisation like Phoenix or run by a clown like the Knicks.
By pilonv1 Go To Postwish nothing but the best for KD
if it's an unrelated injury then how is it their fault?
They said this last game and he was in so much pain they had to take him off the court. This is irresponsible as hell

I feel like I’m the only one here calling for Lacob’s head. I always am out of the Warriors fans.
Lacob got Jerry West to leave, he has done so much damage while riding off the success of Bob Myers and the rest of the front office.
Lacob has to answer for this. You pay this man. This is all on you, and all your fuck ups are finally catching up to you. You don’t have an easy fuckshit excuse to cop out.
Total wrecklessness considering out a month
Kevin Durant will start in NBA Finals Game 5, will have no minutes restrictions according to Kerr

Even thinking that is fucking bullshit and he needs to keep being called out for it. The GM and scouts have been covering him and the rest of the ownership this entire run.

Dude was running sideways at one point. All these "they can deal" injuries just lead to over compensation in other areas. Warriors treating this shit like football right now.
It’s up to the player in one of those, “this is a technical truism” kinda way. Reality has more context though. There’s a reason Kawhi’s drama last season was drama.

We frustrated. I’m happy for Toronto, had you guys making out of the East since 2016 and still kept believing even this year.
I wasn’t gonna be mad if we lost to you guys, but after KD’s injury... sorry gotta win no matter what. m(__)m

confirmation bias is what most people run off of.
What a fucking terrible night for the NBA. That quarter and some change might have been the last elite minutes of KD’s career .
It’s also just insane how it changes the whole dynamic of the league. Knicks are probably stuck in the same hellhole they’ve been for years on end, Free Agency as whole is going to be weird.

I also feel that the Raps still win this:
-Looney is seriously hampered
-Dubs rotation will return to Game 1, 2, and 4 where they are giving sizable minutes to the likes of Jerebko
-I have to imagine Raps don’t shoot as horribly from the 3 again, at least two games in a row. We’re talking missing open corner three type misses like they did in game 2.
-Even in that quarter in a half, we saw just how hard it would be for the Raps to win if KD was healthy. The spacing KD was creating was stretching out the Raps defense like crazy, which allowed the Dubs to shoot what seemed to be 100% from the three for the first half.
-Klay and Curry were able to get some rest in the first half because of Durant. Game 4 they were ragged in the third and fourth because of the pace Toronto played in those first two quarters. Wonder how they’ll hang in game 6-7 with less rest.
-Also, except for that Jordanesque shooting at the 3-4th minute mark of the 4th quarter, Kawhi played his worst game of the series. He was off all night except for the 4th and yet the Raps still lost by 1.

By blackace Go To Postthey ruined his career down 3-1… But I am sure we are being too harsh or somethingThey ruined his career ? I say this knowing nothing more detailed about his prior injury than a calf injury, and nothing more about this new one than it's an Achilles tear.
If you think KD wasn't pressured, that's being idiotic. GSW obviously asked him to play, as anyone would. As this entire thread basically clowned him with hot takes for not having played in the finals. There was pressure with in (GSW) and with out (public) to play.
That GSW cleared him medically is dubious. Cleared has many stages and versions (and i know Kerr said no restrictions, but why give up more information than you have to, to Toronto). GSW have been pretty good with injuries, load management, and rest in general though. To clear him though? doesn't seem great but none of us are his doctor or trainer. But the hot takes from the last 2 pages have been great.
If you think KD didn't have the final say, that's being idiotic. He's a grown ass man. One we all presume has been working on his off season plans for at least a year, and would know he could be jeopardising that. And by the little i know of his entourage, they're not all yes men.
GSW now owe KD 5years 200M. Because KD wasn't the one who was requesting the 1+1 contracts knowing the risk. After the foot fracture (i think) a year or 2 ago.
No one knows if the injury was caused or related to the calf injury. You normally over compensate if you have an injury, but he looked fine on the floor, and the compensation injuries happen over time typically. Not 11 minutes.
But sure, GSW ended his career. Definitively. That's the logical end point of what people actually know.
Sucks for KD, love watching him play. Presume he at least opts into next years player option, which could make things really difficult for GSW. May make them offer DMC more to stay and cover. Cause they're going to be super thin with out KD. As these finals have shown.

KD's his own man. One of the most empowered in the history of the NBA. Think it's really disparaging to KD the individual to think he should be taking the word of random internet doctor from far away over his own (and he would have his own).
Don't know how else to put it, there are few facts, and none of them lay it at the organizations feet with out huge stretches of imagination.
This isn't disagreement for disagreements sake. I just don't see how you get there.
You disagree that multiple doctors have said coming back from this injury early could easily make it a much worse injury in the calf or achilles? ok... doesn't matter what doctor said it unless It's his doctor? ok.
But regardless of what you think matters or not a few experts have stated those very concerns and it happened.
KD should had had his own personal doctor on staff at all times during this (not sure if he did but if so he should fire him) but he really was rushed back and told poor information...
But regardless of what you think matters or not a few experts have stated those very concerns and it happened.
Durant, too, has his basketball future to think about, and it's a future that might not include the Warriors. "If [Durant] comes back on a still partially torn calf and then fully tears it, that would be a major injury," Dr. Beyer said. A fully torn calf, according to Dr. Beyer, is something that could affect him the rest of his career. In a worst-case scenario, compensating for an unstable calf muscle could put Durant at risk of tearing his Achilles tendon just a bit down from his current injury site. That's devastating to even think about, but if you're Durant, this summer's marquee free agent with years of elite play still ahead of him, you have to.

KD will still get a max from someone. There's way too many desperate teams with cap space. The Mavs gave freaking Wesley Matthews 18 million a year after the same injury.
Golden State needs to answer for what they did though. There's no way their doctors didn't know about the risk to his achilles. I think their management just decided it was worth the risk for one more ring since he was leaving anyway. Pure greed.
