By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostI just want one of these types of games (from them) to be more than, "chosen undead, stand at Deborah's Cliff, and ring the bell. To learn more, read the item description of the ring, that you don't have, when it shows up on the loading screen. You'll die, a lot, so don't worry about missing it."Im good actually, i dont mind.
It's like I dont really care that Bloodstained is pretty much another Igavania. From's new game probably wont revolutionise the action RPG genre, but as long as it's a more polished and better honed game in terms of mechanics.

Was really hoping that Elden Ring would be their first UE4 game, since they started using it.
Sadly looks like we get another one with their inhouse engine.

Although they were kinda stuck trying to finish the trilogy Miyazaki never wanted to make in the first place with that whole undead storyline.
But honestly? Trying to piece together the story from the environment and items (some are well hidden and there for a reason) is part of the charm and was always fun to me. You can't explain everything in cutscenes nor do I find being spoon fed particularly enjoyable. Even their VR game had a bit of that. Sekiro didn't, and it kinda made the exploration pointless.
the third unannounced game will be a massive departure both in style and gameplay apparently. No bonfires and 60 fps
i honestly dont mind it being another souls game, in 10 years miyazaki will probably be retired and there wont be any games like them being made

I watched that janitor cutscene Eurogamer were waxing lyrical about, and it struck me more as janky than David Lynch lol
the levels are painfully bland, I can already tell that doing sidequests and getting lost will be a major annoyance.

I mean it's Remedy. Alan Wake was the last good game they made, and even that is pushing the definition of good..
There is nothing good about a game that is trying to be a 75
If you're going to be mediocre, at least do it by stretching yourself too far and falling over

i love the og max paynes but alan wake is one of the worst games of all time
asshole idiot protagonist, c-grade stephen king/twin peaks mishmash of a plot, egregious product placement, dull gameplay where we fight the same three enemies for 7 hours while being railroaded on linear 4-foot-wide mountain paths
deadly premonition came out around the same time and was infinitely superior

i would. cause you know, otherwise i could just say they havent done anything worth anything since early 00's.

It was what finally got me over the edge to buy a 360, and I was very disappointed. The gameplay got veeery boring after the first few hours of doing the same just ok combat loop. The comedy side kick in Barry was just annoying and man, the writing just felt like something way below Deadly Premonition, only really remember liking those old guys at the therapy place. They were fun at least.
The original promise of the game had been so exciting, I remember reading through some game magazine I had bought when it was first announced so many times and loving the screenshots that al of course turned out to be Molyneux levels of bullshit, and it ended up just being this ok action game with some horror elements instead. The open world nature of walking around this little village were sacrificed for a imo bad story, and that made me sad, especially going to deadly premonition that had so much of exactly that, with lots of hilarious stuff put into it.
In the end, Alan Wake was an ok game for me, and maybe even bordering to good if I could forget the original vision that I was wishing for. But hard not to play it and just think wasted potential.

nobody warned me about the weird ass dissonance required of you in Ass Creed Odyssey:
1. Many optional bounties/missions that are straight up citizens wanting me to kill a man over nonsense. Yea I don't necessarily have to do it, but in a game where being 1 level beneath an enemy turns them into bullet sponges, I can't afford to turn them down due to morals.
2. No context for like...what to do in regards to weakening these nations. Very first mission I chose to kind of work undercover and help knock down Athens a peg or two in order to get close to a Spartan general, and then after that it was kind of like--" oh btw, feel free to bring Sparta down a peg or two also." You're a mercenary, so that's...fine? I guess. But the awkwardness comes from then being able to accept missions from said faction despite literally having assassinated leaders in their country and having bounties on your head.

82 hours later and after 1700 games I finally won a match in Tetris 99!. Also I'm at 993 pts. Gonna go for at least 1k points for the maximus cup but fuck yes!!.
The Etika Era situation is a good showcase of what is wrong with that site.
The man needed help, it was clear that he was mentally troubled but a lot of discussions got handwaved because he said faggot. A lot of people still aren't clear that having mental problems DOES make some react in situations in a way that they haven't before, not that it suddenly let all their racist/bigot thoughts surface.
Not saying that that couldn't happen, but it's impossible to find out which is true if you dont really know the person.

Era is the sort of place where a single word being said 15 years ago should prejudice you for the rest of your life. Most of these guys also get titled if people don't wash their hair every day.

Yoo, congrats! Competition is fierce, but you got that damn W.

It's dated in a lot of ways, but it's still great. I even like Tidus and Wakka. Not sure if I'll go for the platinum yet, will probably use a guide to collect all the Al bhed texts, and see how close I am when/if I've completed it.

Reminds me that i got bored shitless with Sekiro and that it's the only 3rd person FROM game since Demon's Souls came out where i haven't bothered with the plat.

I'm a sad cunt and platnum'd everything on playstation/pc. Demon's was a ballache over that Pure Bladestone drop, but thankfully you only had to hold a bladestone upgraded weapon for it to ping, so coop with weapon drops fixed that. DS2 was arse because you had to do 3 playthroughs up to Lothric Castle to unlock 3 spells.
I've only platinumed Sony first party games, and that's because they made it as easy as possible.
Oh, also FFXV, which wasn't that hard.
