Stereo. Subwoofer eh maybe if needed
I dont really. But I like being able to turn that shit on from bed or in the shower. They are only wireless as in they have bluetooth.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI'm using Tannoy studio monitors. Why wireless though? Unless you plan on moving them around and stuff.

I’m still on some primo budget Logitech speakers. Z120’s.
I’m fairness though, budget speakers suit my need perfectly. They’re just there so I can plug them into my monitor, so when I play my Switch through it the sound is just good enough.

I recommended some stuff to Wooden in the audio thread, if anyone else wants to check it out: http://slaent.com/thread/1283962/page/6/post/1834039/
After extensive research, I think I'll go with the Acer Nitro XF252Q over the Alienware, if I can find it at the recommended price & at a decent shop.
Newer version of the AU Optronics 240hz panel, more features and it just seems better engineered overall.
Now you know.

Although now that LG Oleds support gsync and most likely vrr in the 2020 models, these high end, large monitors become less attractive

Perfect size as an additional monitor to mount above whatever main monitor you have though.

By AnchovyVapes Go To PostHave it at an angle, recline chair. Use it with a controller for single player games 🤷🏻♂️Unacceptable. Unless I can do it from my one sitting position which I have perfected over the course of years of being a true gamer, it's a no go.
Shithouse behaviour that, m8.
What’s the point of having a chair on wheels with the ability to recline at will if you don’t have multiple Gamer positions?

Got a hold of an RX 470 for £75, now on the hunt for a cheap AM4 CPU and DDR4. Thinking of going with an R3 1200, nut i'm hoping to see some deep discounts on R5 2600s soon.

By Kibner Go To PostI think the 1200 would be too weak. 1600 or better…That’s my perspective on things like, but I’m working off someone elses budget. Hard to convince them that spending £100 instead of £50 is a worthwhile investment.

Right now I've got a curved 144hz monitor as my 'primary' monitor that I use for gaming and a secondary monitor that's just a generic ASUS LED. I've got a 4k Samsung tv I use for console gaming/movies, but I spend 90% of my time at my computer.
What's a good monitor to replace my ASUS with that's geared more towards picture quality rather than gaming?

Any non-shit IPS monitor will do. What's your budget? Size? Pleb 16:9 or enlightened 21:9 aspect ratio?

Nvidia is slowly but steadily preparing the launch of their ampere generation GPUs, allegedly starting March 2020, the first models will be out for data-centers. Geforce 3000 for desktop PCs would appear in June. This is reported by the Chinese website HKEPC, citing Chris Caso, an analyst with Raymond James.

My primary is 24 inches, so I'd like to stay around there. 16:9. My setup is pretty small with just enough room for 2 monitors and little else, and I like to keep it that way. Multiple HDMI inputs would be nice but not required.
I'm flexible on budget.

24", IPS, factory calibrated (I think), 1900x1200 resolution.
Check out Dell's UltraSharp line. Almost any of their U24** models will do, maybe there's one that's more current than the one I suggested.
1900x1200 is an amazing aspect ratio. Lets you play native 1080p content in a window without losing anything.

By data Go To PostI didn't see 4k listed anywhere on this one's specifications.Oh, you didn't mention needing 4K. Like Zabo said, Ultrasharp U<x> monitors are all quality (at least from both our understandings). You'd be happy with any of them.

Doing a brief search and it looks like the Dell U2718Q and LG 27UK650-W are your two best bets. Read those reviews and pick one.

Lie and say that the faster CPU is also newer and more energy efficient and they will save that money on power costs over the lifetime of the PC.

I would say try calling them, the CS has been great over the phone in my experience with them. Not worth the additional charges for you though
Put an offer in on a R5 1500X. If I can get that for £60ish, i reckon it’ll do. Should be a tad better than the R7 3750H in that laptop I got my gf earlier in the year, and the performance out of that really isn’t bad at all.

I just looked up all three of those chips on CpuBenchmark:
MT/ST
R3 1200: 6,795 | 1,720
R7 3750H: 8,959 | 1,939
R5 1500X: 10,106 | 1,865

For some reason their system doesn't let me go through with the checkout, so we'll probably need to sort it out in some other way.
Got any experience with Scan? I think I bought my old Corsair K70 over there and some other stuff, never had any complaints. The Acer is 299 brexits, same as over at Overclockers, however shipping is 15. Plus I'd presumably have no issues completing the transaction.
