By FortuneFaded Go To PostAlways fun to watch the battle between people who claim you don’t have to stick to the source material vs the people who claim you do (they often switch sides)Just seems like manufactured Twitter drama to me really. All it does in the end is market the film more.
By Laboured Go To Postfuk u i love lil mermaid

Lmao, smh at the dvd
This new Hellboy is properly abysmal. Even worse than I was expecting. Amazed it's not directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
I wouldn't put it all on Neil Marshall. He is a good director but the production of the movie was apparently hellish with the producers undermining Marshall's decisions and David Harbour confronting Marshall a few times.
I usually like Marshall. But this is a fucking mess. Harbour's shite as is most of the cast. Dialogue is brutally bad.
Ok these uber violent demons that turn up in the end are like the only thing good about this movie. A horror movie starring these cunts please.
bored 10 minutes into wreck it ralph. disney/pixar haven't put out an interesting animated film in forever.
Watched Spiderman yesterday. Mysterio was great, there's an extended set piece with him that blew me away.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI just finished Bird Box.
I really enjoyed it, although reading previous comments,I had thought there was a big twist at the end. Bit of a let down there.
The twist is that it's terrible

Stuff like the studio firing Marshall's longtime cinematographer basically just to send him a fuck you part way through production etc. Seems like a classic case of the studio, director and even cast (harbour) want totally different things and no one wanting to compromise. There was also a bit about a tree that Marshall wanted to be symmetrical but the studio said no it cant be symmetrical but they ended up changing like 3 times or something until going back to want Marshall wanted? Weird.
By Laboured Go To PostThink Timothy Dalton in Hot Fuzz is among my favourite side characters ever. He's just delightful in that film

There might be stuff on YT but I’d love to watch trained actors deal with him.

you take a franchise that's famous for its creative prosthetics/animatronics creatures and you turn it into a CG fest? And then you recast Ron Perlman lol...yeah
unless he had no input whatsoever over these decisions

Can't remember if this was the exact article I was talking about but it brings up the stuff I had read anyway. Doesn't sound like anybody had a good time on set.

it was just a bad movie essentially. Everyone competently made a bad movie
By Laboured Go To PostThink Timothy Dalton in Hot Fuzz is among my favourite side characters ever.Hot Fuzz is up there with Zombieland for ridiculously praised movies that I don't understand.
Big difference being that Hot Fuzz is actually really good and Zombieland without the Bill Murray cameo being forgettable.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostYOOOOOOOOOO MIDSOMMAR WAS FUCKING BANANASReally? It looked like white Get Out.
By DY_nasty Go To PostReally? It looked like white Get Out.Nah it looked like an even more f'ed Wicker Man to me.
I can see the Wicker Man comparisons but the resemblance is really surface level.
It honestly doesn't feel like a horror movie? I don't know, it's like if Lars von Trier for once stopped masturbating to himself and made a straight forward thriller

some people are upset that the sassy talking dragon made for American consumption is not in the movie
ya hate to see it.
ya hate to see it.
I enjoyed Spiderman way more than I expected, the Mysterio sequence felt right out of a comic book in a good way, and it felt so nice to finally see a gadgeteer, thinking on his feet Spider-Man on the big screen.
