It baffles me that this movie made $150M dollars in a single weekend.
At least Jurassic World had dinos

Maybe people were drawn in by the cat
But it's wild how they OD'd on certain points. I don't think i realized how much I appreciated Wonder Woman in retrospect. This shit was corny as hell

If you're a fan of amazing visuals and animation, give "The Witness" a watch. It's a apart of the animated anthology series, Love Death + Robots out now on Netflix.
Spear headed by Alberto Mielgo, the visionary behind Into The Spiderverse's unique visuals and animation. The visuals in this are even crazier. Incredible first watch.

By HasphatsAnts Go To PostI'm upset they shoved the god Ben Mendelsohn in such a mediocre movie.
Mendelsohn’s already been in rogue one, robin hood and ready player one. Dude is no stranger to mediocrity.
The Flash movie is such a mess. After 2 directors dropped out of the movie, Ezra Miller now doesn't want to do the movie John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein want and is working on a darker script with Grant Morrison.
I doubt WB will go for his script unless it is absolutely brilliant, it looks like they will probably end up replacing Miller.

It baffles you that what is basically a prologue to avengers made that kind of money?
By Kidjr Go To PostIt baffles you that what is basically a prologue to avengers made that kind of money? It's basically not lol
I will say that the only reason I didn't walk out was to see the after credits scene though... You might be right idk
After watching the RLM review, and the fact that it won't be on video before Avengers 3 comes out anyway.. i probably won't ever watch it.
By diehard Go To Postwait is it really 4?lets be honest, the first one wasn't good either
maybe i forgot the second because it wasnt very good
By /sy Go To PostLets be honest, like 3 scenes were fun. Most comic movies are lucky to get one
I'm watching Aquaman and I can't believe how bad it is. It's like a high budget SyFy movie.
Everyone from the hairstylists to the producers need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Weird, I thought it was incredible in terms of CGI. I am one of those persons that love practical effects over CGI but thought the CGI on Aquaman was so well done. It looked great on 4K HDR, specially the scenes in Atlantis.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostCaptain Marvel already at 760M$. It's definitely not a question if it will reach 1B$ but when.
The world out here celebrating mediocrity

I rewatched it last night just to see if it was any better at home. Its entertaining enough, passes the time from moment to moment, has some fun performances, at least shows the Russos are a little better at colour grading than their last two films displayed.
But the action is trash, not one character develops over the course of the film (not even Thanos, who instead of killing the avengers like he so easily could just decides to turn things into bubbles instead, which completely negates his threat), the constant jokes really stand out when its such an immediate apocalyptic threat. I got no issues with marvel quip machines, but it’s maddening how much it happens in this film every minute.
Say what you will about age of ultron, but at least its chaos and fragmented filmmaking had personality. This is just the most homogenised big blockbuster i can think of. It’s just noise and loud things and big set pieces HAPPENING for two and a half hours. It’s an absolute failure on a filmmaking level. Nothing of consequence happens. Characters don’t learn or grow. It’s just constant plot.
Don’t give me that ‘its one part of two’ shit too. Doesn’t stop LOTR from doing its thing, or the SW films.
Why do i waste so much of my life thinking about these films
If i hadnt seen that post this morning i would have been okay
As it stands i am FUCKING RAGING AND BURNING SOCIETY DOWN

It's 5-10 minutes of ad libbing in front of a green screen followed by a ten minute cgi fight for two hours. Except the part where they flip the script a bit and give you a ten minute cgi talky section with thanos instead. I was kinda done with superhero movies before but IW broke me. It's incredibly hollow.
Yeah you're thinking too much over it Nate.
Of course the characters doesn't have arcs, the only way they can have one is through their own set of solo movies.
It's glorified fanservice, and at least it's a fun popcorn movie.

Totally not going to waste an hour of my life watching a video essay on the MCU. Things I already know.
Is it a rule that video essayists need to include comedy bits and sketches? Can I make a video essay and call it the Plinkett effect?

By /sy Go To PostHans Zimmer is overrated aafffSome of his stuff is my absolute favorite thing to listen to and some of his stuff I just meh on. And even then I'm attached to very specific songs not a whole soundtrack. Lately my favorite scores have come from shows more so than film. Folks have really upped their tv series scoring game especially detective/drama series coming out of the UK.
