If Warriors lose to the Mavs tomorrow night, we will know for sure that they are washed without curry

You know KD was tossing and turning with those words that night too.
Any takes that dog on Draymond are good takes, but KD is also soft and wormy and should probably get barked at more for it.
By Kibner Go To PostLol#KD2LA is trending I bet
By Kibner Go To PostLolI totally bet a friend that Dray said some variant of "we won without you, you came here to win and we helped you with that problem. asshole. "
I like Ayton. Think there will be some narrative driven by the press to validate their pre-draft articles to give ROTY to luka. But Ayton ....16ppg, 10.6rbg, 2.9apg. .613 fg%/
I don't get the Lakers thing. There aren't any minutes at the 3/4 between Kuz/LeBron/Ingram. You'll always want two of those three at the 3/4. And once they can start winning at a decent enough clip they'll probably want to give some minutes at the 4/5 to Wagner.

yea, it's Ayton atm, but the stats are both impressive enough that a bad month could tank either of them

Luka has been more impressive watching the games to me, Aytons numbers are cool in a vacuum but so much of his offense is spoon fed and the fact he's such a poor shotblocker for a dude that looks like he was built in a lab is a big negative. There have been more games where Luka takes over or controls the flow of the game than Ayton.
Grizz starting 5 have a +2.8 rating with a offensive rating of 91.5 lol

Luka's team wins games from time to time so that is going to help...
However the crazy thing about Ayton is he only has a 20% usage right now

I was actually expecting Luka to look like some magician passer and struggle with scoring, and its kinda been the opposite.

The Hawks can really be proud of drafting him with their pick.

But Aytons defence looks a lot better now than it did at the start of the season. I'm less worried about shot blocking numbers, i'd rather he stay out of foul trouble and on the floor as a rookie, and let that come with time.
The kicker is that, Ayton is getting a lot of his points with out many plays being explicitly called for him. They're not trying to force him to score 25ppg or what ever. The pre-season edict that this season will be more focused on learning NBA defence and how to anchor it, while letting the offence happen in the flow seems to be true enough.
He's also looking much better as his fitness is getting better. Regularly at the start of the season, by the second half, he was plodding down the court every time. Not so much now.

Ayton defense is better but he's still terrible, he's a long long way off from Jackson and Bamba there, not even taking blocks into account I've seen him quit on plays way too much where he could have at least challenged it. Once a guy gets a step on him it's like a free basket cause he doesn't want to pick up a foul, I'd rather a young big man get in foul trouble just guarding the rim than not challenging, that's a bad habit and he had it in college. His offensive numbers were always going to be good, but he's not had a single game where he just took over, at his size he should be able to make an impact. I hate to compare again but Jackson's defense has been crazy good so I can't get with any excuses there.
Sixers are 7-0 at home? dang.
Can't watch tonight, going fishing actually doing something with friends

If he doesn't get in foul trouble Gobert should have a lot of blocks tonight going against so many broken jumpers that need to drive, right?

At the start of the season you were right. Haven't seen that happen in the last 2 weeks. As his fitness has picked up, he's getting better at putting in a second effort.
He also forced the Spurs to change their lineup. Cunningham was getting picked on by Ayton. And he played really good defense on LMA.
Haven't seen many Memphis games this year, and when i did JJJ wasn't on the floor much. Oof, his 3pt % has fallen off.
Didn't the Jazz start off pretty slow out of the gates last year, too? Only to have like a 20 of 25 type of run midway through the season?

Well, Gobert was pretty dominant for 30 of those 35 games as well. Best he's played on defense maybe yet in his career.

Ben Simmons is Australian Rubio.
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostBen Simmons is Australian Rubio.
Rubio is way more confident in his jumper (often times doesn't work) and a much better shooter (though still pretty bad!) while Simmons is infinitely better at making layups
Rubio's career high on layups came last year... At 53%, lol.
