Looking at the guys recent tweets, he doesn't even source it. Same with accounts that repost art. Twitter is trash

Might be some of the best shit in years tbh
By s y Go To PostMan, 1999 HxH shits on the 2011 anime... I thought was was showing on [as] was the 1999 anime. Unless you mean the manga shits on the anime.
By The Frankman Go To Post… I thought was was showing on [as] was the 1999 anime. Unless you mean the manga shits on the anime. The 1999 anime is way better than the 2011 anime. Visuals, tone, direction,Sakuga, character designs etc. The 2011 is good stuff though, the direction and visuals really pick up in the Chinese arc.1999 really nailed that darker mood that HxH deserves
Gon vs Hanzo 1999
By s y Go To Postdamn, episode 10 of Violet Evergarden kinda fucked me upI said it earlier man that episode had me crying like a little toddler. Violet Evergarden has been one of the best series I have seen in a long time and it doesn't hurt that the animation is stunning.
All the scenes involving teaching someone how to build Gunpla in this episode is the best:
GBF is a giant ad for selling toys, but I'm ok with that. It's led to some pretty cool kits and also design methodology behind the kits that lends to more easy kitbashing.

GBF is awesome and I've only seen a handful of Gundam series. I have a friend that's seen every series and he was losing his mind weekly at the easter eggs/callbacks.
By s y Go To PostEvery anime is a giant ad to sell merchand then you have mecha anime lol

This shit is on an entirely different tier of existence.
By domino Go To PostDBZ trying to compete w/ these rainbow ass saiyans. They gotta up their game by also having multiple obscure side-stories with even more unique or variations on existing characters. This in addition to movies that do the same. Also, toys being made for things that are talked about but never shown in any media. And multiple variations/configurations of everything, even if it is just a palette swap.
And that's only part of the side hustle.

These marketing shills got nothin on me
I bought a Gundam Epyon kit when I was a kid. Instantly regretted it when presented with a kit that needed painting and sanding.
By Lunatic Go To PostI bought a Gundam Epyon kit when I was a kid. Instantly regretted it when presented with a kit that needed painting and sanding. All good kits need a little bit of sanding or shaving (or just cutting close enough to the part that you aren't worried about the extra little bump left over). They don't really need painting nowadays, though. Panel lining helps and makes things look better, but is not a necessity.
This site has a photo review of pretty much every Bandai kit: http://dalong.net No painting but, iirc, he goes overboard with panel lining to make it obvious where the panels are because it can be hard to see them in photographs when the pieces are the same color.

Thought it would look just like the picture on the box 😐

Don't even think internet was a thing back then lol. If I ever do decide to do it again I'll check it out.
By s y Go To PostI expect painting but I didn't think something like sanding would be required.Watch that video I linked where they start cutting parts off the sprue tree. There will always be a tiny little nub left, no matter how close you cut the part. Sanding it down or using a hobby knife to shave it off to make it smooth is a thing most builders do.
By Lunatic Go To PostIt was just not something I was expecting being a naive child. Thought it would look just like the picture on the box 😐Totally understandable. I did the same thing back in the day. There are some good kits for like $10-15 now, so it's not too expensive to hop in.

e: i know a little bit about the hobby, but Shun is nearly an expert on the stuff, so if you ever read something he says about it that contradicts me, trust him

I'm on episode 8 of B.....um where i this "lily is a genius like Keith" shit coming from? she's been a dumb, nothing character up to this point lol
Finished B. Good stuff. Nothing great but kept me entertained to the end, it's agood that it was only 12 episodes. Really liked the art. Netflix is 3 for 3 so far with their anime(Violet Evergarden,Devilman Crybaby, B) with me so far.
They've been dropping a lot of anime this year. There's like 3 other Netflix exclusive series that released this quarter. Crazy.

Franxx is in this weird ass spot, where it's gotten better, but it's still pretty poor. The initial fuckery that draws you in has taken a backseat to typical teen drama...which has been executed with more quality (still poor) than whatever the fuck they had going on at the start. Honestly, I'm just in it to see which one of them kicks the bucket first. Someone is gonna use rampage mode and end up dead.
I haven't followed this on other sites, but I'm surprised (well...It's anime, so not really) that people are letting it rock with how in your face misogynistic it is. Kill La Kill was wild, but thematically (especially last episode) it wasn't this. If this was actually good, the last episode would have been way different.

and yeah, franx is following the checklist. started with blatant otaku bait and merchandising, building up tropes w/ early beach episode, slow world building for anyone who sticks around, a little bit of development so people can either die/switch up later, main characters taking an extended back seat, new ability glimpses, etc
just waiting to be rewarded with fukkery at this point.
