By Smokey Go To PostTbf I only notice it of the screen is completely black, but it's a valid concern. Dunno how they can avoid it using fald tho.I notice it in any scene where there are elements with greatly contrasting brightness levels. Especially if there is a solId color or text that lays across lighting zones in those scenes.

As for its Mini LED products, Peng said the company is ready to mass produce both active matrix and passive matrix Mini LED products. Yet, since the cost is still high, AUO will schedule shipment of its Mini LED products according to clients’ plan to launch their applications into the market. Peng noted that AUO has the capabilities of manufacturing and gaming monitor will be its first target.

Idk, sounds like this stuff is still a year or more away and it's going to cost Smokey-money.
I ran 3 tests on driver set 411.63 and 3 on 411.70. All tests were run at Ultra High and at 4k with the only difference between the 3 being the lowering of Volumetric Clouds (Ultra High, Very High, High). Here are my results:
411.63
Ultra High - 55fps
Volumetric Clouds @ Very High - 57fps
Volumetric Clouds @ High - 60fps
411.70
Ultra High - 55fps
Volumetric Clouds @ Very High - 58fps
Volumetric Clouds @ High - 60fps
My CPU was getting hammered
I could also be CPU limited in some way here, because the game was definitely going hard on my processor. The only thing I adjusted was clouds as I mentioned. I'm sure if I messed with AA from it's preset at Ultra High, I could easily cross 60 with Clouds still on Very High or Ultra High. As it is, I hit 60 with clouds on High. I played about 15 minutes of the regular game and it is gorgeous. With these frames and gsync i don't notice any drops or tearing, and it really is a stunning looking game. I'll try again once TU 1.03 hits, as I know they're working on some PC fixes.

By HottestVapes Go To PostIf it’s anything like Origins, shit was basically a CPU stress test.
Apparently so . You can see every core getting worked, hard. RIP 4c/4t users.

Nice!
Welp, finally ascended to the master race with Smokey and Vapes.
Adam, what’s the single Noccy fan for anyway? Tell me so I can go off on a tangent about my assortment of 7 Noctua fans

My current gpu is an aio with a fan. Gotta replace that fan.

By HottestVapes Go To PostHow’s it feel Zabo? You’re 30% behind us and only saved 50% of the cash! Square!Feels great, I'll take a 30% increase in performance for 150€ any time.
Just started tinkering with it, installed EVGA Precision X.

I’ll be honest, I don’t even know what the performance percentage uplift from 1080 to 2080Ti is. I just saw bench numbers for 4K Siege and Wolfenstein 2 and it gave me the “cummies”
I'm very happy with the noise / temp performance. With fans at 35-40% you can barely hear it, with temps staying below 75-78°C in the games I tried so far. I think I'll be fine with fans at 50% max in most titles without sacrificing a lot (or any) of the boosting pawa, which is great. Silence is key.
It's about time I setup my case fans as well, which is why I installed a case temperature sensor. I have them running at 600-800rpm right now, CPU goes up to ~1000rpm. Virtually inaudible and I haven't had any temp issues. Still, having a little more air moved through the case wouldn't hurt.

I still love how ridiculous the AP182 fan is. I only have it at like 1/4 to 1/3 speed which is barely audible. But full speed is just rofl worthy air movement and noise. Page 3 of this review has some results: http://thermalbench.com/2015/06/17/silverstone-ap182-180mm-fan/
Basically lives up to the statement of having the power of a full size box fan.

It's like judging the build quality by the weight of the object like we all did with new technologies years ago

Not today, Satan. Not getting a new CPU yet!
My score is ok, but there's much higher GPU scores out there, and my CPU is really holding me back in benches. Time to potentially retire Deathstar and get started on it's successor....codename....#Flawless

Think bigger.
Supposedly Cascade lake X is supposed to go live later this month . I've been on HEDT since 2014. Might continue in 2018. I want all the cores.
By Adam Go To PostBut why? You only game so you only need the best gaming GPU.
Benching is a game too
And I need a new rig anyway. Being at 4k mitigates the CPU somewhat, but I need to bring the rest of the rig in balance with the GPU and monitor. DDR4, M2/NVME ...all that good stuff.
By Adam Go To PostDon't see you rocking a 7980XE currently doe? 🤔
Nah. I think 10-12 cores is where I'm at, preferably 12. That would double up what I have now, and would hold up for a while moving forward.
By Smokey Go To PostBenching is a game toobruh lol
I’d take 8 cores at 5Ghz on Intel’s ringbus architecture over any of the lower end HEDT parts they have on offer, personally.
That said, there’s a certain status symbol to owning any HEDT CPUs, and I can respect that.
