And there already was some talk when it happened, but normaly there isn't anything done about. This time however Vettel handed grid penalty for impeding Sainz
The German had qualified in third but will be demoted to sixth on the grid, behind teammate Kimi Raikkonen, Red Bull's Max Verstappen and the Haas car of Romain Grosjean.
Sainz was starting a last-ditch push lap in Q2 when he came up on the cruising Ferrari of Vettel on the exit of Turn 1, the Spaniard forced to move sharply to the left and go over the kerbs to avoid contact.
We need Kimi at the start, otherwise I am afraid the Mercs will just disappear in the distance, cannot see the RBRs take the fight to them.
Will probably need some midfield drama to spice it up today

By Spengo Go To PostThought Max and Kimi would touch. What a move.they did :P
Race start replays
Kimi onboard:

KIMI :(
DannyRic !!
Mercedes will have better tires, but so far RBR can match Lewis pace and thats all they need right now.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostYep :)))You dont want to give Lewis a chance for P3, so they should wait, unless they feel win is possible.
I wonder when Ferrari give the order to Kimi
dammit missed Spain goal, did not expect this race to deliver ;)
Lewis 2 nd stop, just behind DannyRic.
shit dannyRic gone, gear sync issues :(
And Ferari's are let loose, pace is picking up for them.

On a track were the entire weekend you lack pace, your team mate burns to tires faster than you cna blink, bringing it home :respect:
And Ferrari no switch, guess they remembered the Schumi/Rubens falout
Both Mercedes gone and Haas THAT points, also nice for Grosjean to end that streak !! Points for ForceIndia and even Alonso on P8 :weredidthatcomefrom:
Ferrari have done the switch dozens of times.
Poor move from Ferrari.
But just glad to have a double podium

Heat is Ferrari's biggest ally.
Taking in the lead in both championships is nice, but just a few points might make the difference in the drivers championship.
Go have fun kiddo, you deserved it after today ;)
Dutch party before the race, images from after little later ;)
Reults
Standings after today, Bottas 6th is unbelieveble no luck at all.

By Kidjr Go To PostActually at the F1 this weekend so quite excited, never been beforeAs I said to Linus, 1st time I went I was amazed by the acceleration , corner speed (if you can get to Maggots/Backetts do) and the way they slow down was almost unbelievable. Enjoy the weekend and I do hope you brought your sun-cream ;)
And for the last one of the tripple header we go to Silverstone in GB for the FORMULA 1 2018 ROLEX BRITISH GRAND PRIX.
Track is a mix of the newer slow corners to help racing/overtaking and the older high speed corner combinations. With these modern high downforce cars a few of those corners are now a days sadly :( flat-out, which make the engine power more important. To add a bit of excitement first straight/corner drivers are allowed to use DRS, but I'm not sure if even possible or actually faster (load on rear tires to high even if possible).
Favourites, Mercedes have been extremely dominant on this track in the last 4 years, but just maybe an improved Ferrari this season can bring the fight to them, but I think they lack the high speed downforce for this track. Heat, yes it is even hot in the UK, could bring them closer to Ferrari and maybe RBR in the mix, but I'm afraid Renault lacks to much power for this track. So question is, can Lewis leave behind the struggles of Austria and make it 5 in a row at his home ground.
And expect a lot of Mclaren (people) talk, as Eric Boullier resigned as racing director. Different promotions to fill the gap and Andrea Stella is now their performance director and Gil de Ferran now the sporting director.
Not much to say other than that cars are bouncing a bit more, strange as we have new tarmac, but we are in England so anything is possible. And Max had egearbox issue at the end of FP1 and only used medium tires (he had one set of soft less than others )
Some more action

And that's Max Friday done
FP2 results
hard to read, close between Merc/Fer with DannyRic well behind them on the long runs

Brendon Hartley his front suspension on the left failed at 300 + : scary:
FP3
Close between Fer/Merc, Ferrari more power, Mercedes high speed cornering is better, so 5th Lewis pole in a row still on.
Think the discussion about most powerful engine this year is settled looking at the top 10. RBR is as fast as Haas/Sauber in what once was a highspeed corner section, but now flat-out it is about engine power and Renault is :(

By Punished Go To PostFirst race this year watching C4's coverage; Edwards and Coulthard are a much better combo.Few times I catch something from UK coverage I also feel that Croft is a bit to "loud/in your face" for me
And first off in Q1 and red flag is for Lance
Almost done for Williams, Sirotkin of in Stowe:
Stoffel to slow again and Sainz surprisingly, only 4ths o of best of the rest but out in Q1
Ericsson only Ferrari powered car not through, Ocon picks up last Q3 spot.
LEWISIISISSISSSSISI
thought slight error in last corner might have cost him, but just enough Vettel and Raikoinen just behind him Bottas P4.
Max takes another win over DannyRic and Haas best of the rest, that Ferrari power.!!
