By HasphatsAnts Go To PostNot likely. AI requires a ton of upkeep and maintenance. It's much cheaper to just get a couple more dudes to QA stuff.it's more likely to appear as a service provided by someone else, so ideally all studios will have access to these tools, there are already quite a few startups working on using deep learning techniques to speed up the game development process but we'll hav eto wait to see how successful they are. i guess the worry is that when a startup does look good they might just get acquired by ea/rockstar/whoever and the tech won't benefit that many people.
I don’t get how they all just go along with these working hours. There’s valuing your job and there’s being a collective doormat.
Take factory workers in the UK for instance, union or no union, you wouldn’t get the majority of the workforce to work over 60 hours a week, never mind a 100 hours. Shit just doesn’t fly with them.

Don't forget how many are straight out of the education system as well. They don't even know what is acceptable and are more willing to bring in the sleeping bag to stay there just about every hour of the week. I remember that being the good old Lionhead strategy at least, for when Molyneux decided to change a game completely 2 years into development or move building 3 times in a year.
By Xpike Go To PostMy passion, dream job, little job security, insurance relying on your job, etc etc.The latter two still apply to most jobs. So it basically boils down to being so starry eyed over working for big dick publishers that you put it all above your health, family, social life, sleep, and self respect.
Instead of treating the job like, well, a job, and doing your 8 hours then going home. Doing overtime when it suits you, and not to suit them.
I find it incredibly hard to sympathise when the game development culture is so alien to the workplace culture in the UK that I’ve experienced.

I caved and bought Black Ops 4.
I'm a couple of hours into it. So far it's everything PUBG wishes it was, if what it wanted to be is a shitty arcade shooter with terrible gunplay.

PUBG was good when it was the only BR out there, Blackout has elevated the genre.
Would like a proper progression system, more vehicles and another map or two. The progression seems to be coming, not sure how long it'll take. Aside from that I think I prefer everything about Blackout tbh, doubt I'll ever boot PUBG up again.
A trios mode would be perfect, but doubt that's ever coming even though the player count would easily support it.

I don't see how COD has shitty gunplay, it's responsive and nails the fast paced, hitscan feels it's going for. Devs were trying to copy it for damn near two generations.

I restarted Dargon Age: Inquisition yeaterday. Only did the prologue ladt time then stopped. 5 hours in and enjoying it so far. Never played any of the other games in the series.
Biggest annoyance is the gameplay. Walking is painful at times and needing to jump over anything bigger than a pebble.

Didn’t spend too long in there at first, but when back to do some wuests to get 15 power to progress the story.
Is there any payoff with collecting all the shards?
Plus how do I get the Inq. Perks? Only got one so far and not sure how.

Use the war table trick in manipulating the PS4 system clock to get them faster. It's not worth waiting hours for.

Right wing parties gut worker protections like it's their religion.

Sounds like something a Consoloaner would say.
My Pro's WiFi download speed is literally about a twentieth of the speed of the mains-adapted ethernet connection
What a shit console. The WiFi adaptor in it must have cost Sony about 50p. PS5.5 can do one.

For whatever reason it constantly drops when using the PSN store. The wifi is stable enough when playing a game online, but almost feels like it goes into some idle mode when just using the store. Sure is traaaaaaaaash
I dont have trouble with my PS4 Pro.
If a download goes slow, I just pause and resume until it's quick again.

Well it was kind of what i expected at least. But I didn't expect the loudness of the Protato 4, or the absolutely terrible battery time for the controllers.

I'm ok with the download speeds. 50gb in 2 hours or so is still manageable.
Still think Nier Automata has the best OST this gen.
RDR2 might beat it though, considering I still listen to some songs from the first game from time to time.
