Watching some Battle of Azeroth
I want a WoW sequel. In its current state it just seems to have too many layers for a newcomer. Plus it looks like a 14 year old game.

Until DICE gives me BAD COMPANY 3 I've been wanting for for nearly a decade now, they won't be seeing any of my money.
By Smokey Go To PostAveraged about 58-65 fps in the BF V Alpha with a [REDACTED] GPU at [REDACTED] resolution, Ultra settings. DICE has stepped the presentation game up. It clearly looks better than BF1 when playing it. I think the Alpha ends today, didn't get to really dig into the meta. They need a more open map tho to really get a good feel imo. I only played as Assault and shooting felt great. Being able to revive downed teammates, I like. Having to pick up ammo or be by an ammo crate, I like. Seems naturally more team oriented even with randoms from what I played.
Astonishing cowardice.
What I wouldn't give to let Kojima and his top guys just take control of the DICE team and tech for one game
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostWhat I wouldn't give to let Kojima and his top guys just take control of the DICE team and tech for one gameso you can see a bunch of ragdolls stuck on walls that didn't break but the game assumes they did?

This has a Bad Company feel to it, especially aesthetically.

Strange song choice.

MGS5 would have clearly been good had he gotten a chance to actually finish it, and 4 is a solid enough game
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostWhat I wouldn't give to let Kojima and his top guys just take control of the DICE team and tech for one gameI mean, he's got the decima engine now.

By Smokey Go To PostKojima is washed if we're being honestDon't hurt them with truth smokey..
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postmgs3 was such a blessing2 basically made it horrible in reverse..

Or if he had just focused on making a good game with the rather big budget, instead of rubbing elbows with Hollywood actors he so desperately wants to befriend, and building some dumb ass base building shit that no one ever wanted or asked for. Imagine if just some of those resources had gone towards you know, some dialogue in between the countless missions or some set up to them with story progression.

was getting drops into the 40s p regularly on my 1070/7600k combo with everything cranked @ 1080p. alpha and all but i hope that's not what i'm gonna see in the release version
as for the game itself, the foundation is there but the alpha made it difficult to grasp the nuances as you said. a lot of missing animations and general alpha glitchiness. i expect the meta to be completely different in the release-- in the alpha planes are borderline useless, tanks are too squishy and mgs are fukken garbage--the mg34 being unable to ads unless bipoded doesn't really work in bf unless that thing absolutely shreds people when done so.
the map is solid though, two clear lanes of action with room to spread out
tanks can never be too squishy tbh
do the air vehicles have modern controls yet or is it still microsoft flight simulator levels of fukkery

I'm on a 4930k which is 6c/12t . Frostbrite loves all the cores it can get, that may be where the difference is coming from.
One thing I dont understand about people's praise on Kojima is that they see him as a great storyteller.
Is that how low the bar is? MGS1 and 3 is great, but the rest is some quality moments in a waste treatment plant of a story.
Amazing at getting the gameplay mechanics down pat though.

Gameplay was poor before MGSV imo
Plenty of options, but the controls were always terrible in some major aspects, and behind the games' contemporaries in others

The best boss battle of all time is having to lay down claymores around fighter jets just to fuck up a Kim Dotcom look-alike in a trenchcoat, sunglasses, and rollerblades.
That can never be topped. Not by Cory Barlog. Not by David Jaffe. Not by nobody.

By Smokey Go To PostKojima is washed in 2018, but y'all not gonna slander the man pre mgs v.Don't get me wrong, MGS1 and 3 are two of the goats, 2 is good, and 4 is amusing in its fuckery. MGSV is a betrayal of everything he'd built.
By Flutter Go To PostDiablo 2 is my 2nd favorite game of all time, played it consistently for like 5 years. I played D3 till beat the hardest difficultly with one character then never touched it again. It was good but something was off. Maybe I'll try it again on Switch...
By Hitch Go To PostI can't decide if that animation is great or terrible
It's certainly nothing amazing.
