it's a young Sakamoto from Sakamoto desu ga?
By DY_nasty Go To Postis it normal to be a clean freak at work and a complete slob at home?Nope. Lots of people like this. A mess at work cuts into your time and efficiency too much. Meanwhile at home it's like "where did I put that shirt, whatever."

I saw the song title and said to myself "please don't be ruining a Bob Marley song." Clicked on the video. They're ruining a Bob Marley song. :(
I don't hate it. I'm not sure how can ruin the song by merely changing the lead vocals, and Adam Levine is a good pop singer. It's just creatively empty and is merely a prolonged Honda advert. I have more respect for Taylor Swfit's cover of September because at least she made it her own.
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostIf you are a modern band covering a classic, you are by definition ruining it.
proved randolph's point.
edit: although, trent reznor and atticus ross' rendition of Cashir is better than Zeppellin's. But Led Zepellin are hacks so whatever

I clicked on that thinking it can only be so bad. It was so much worse. I managed 30 seconds.
covers should be played at concerts or at most bonus tracks on an album, it's stupid when they are singles with music videos.
and it was Immigrant Song not Kashmir

Would it have killed you to try to redeem the thread of the earlier Maroon 5 abomination?
By Random Ass Username Go To PostMaroon 5 is obviously popular and yet I've never met a fan of theirs.I think it helps that they're radio safe.

Loooked up Andrew WK after the Bethesda conference. Pitchfork gave one of his albums an 0.6 at release then 10 years later they gave the re-issue an 8.6.

By reilo Go To PostThe better question is if the same reviewer did both reviews.
Who's still going to be working for Pitchfork after 10 years?
Who the hell is Pitchfork?
is it even a hipster review site anymore?

music is so damn subjective though.. it feels like there's not much point to reviews unless you alight with that specific person in taste

By diehard Go To Postmusic is so damn subjective though.. it feels like there's not much point to reviews unless you alight with that specific person in tasteI think there's certain things that you can comment on / filter. But in general if an artist / album falls into a genre that you generally like, it's probably worth a 30second listen.
But there are certainly things you can critique regardless. Composition, lyrics, beat, backing (both instrumentally and vocally).
It's similar to saying you can't review games.
I didn't say you can't review it, I just think music is more subjective than other media. How often do you see games that have large fan bases that have been flat out panned by reviews? It happens all the time for Music. Nobody is going back to old video games that were bad and being like "you know what, actually this game was really ahead of its time and is really great". (small caveats etc)
